Friendly staff. Good breakfast options. AC unit throwing error codes 1st night. Definitely needed. Couple attempts to fix but finally fixed by young male reception assistance.

So glad we stayed here and it was 100% worth it to upgrade to an ocean view balcony. I rarely pay for uograded rooms because I’m typically not lounging around the hotel, but activities The Galapagos are so tiring, that we really appreciated having this beautiful ocean view and nice balcony to watch wildlife right from our room! we stayed here as a family of three, and although the rooms are typically made for two, we found it comfortable for three (they added a single bed). I loved using the screen door so that we could be lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean at night. We were able to see when the fisherman were coming in with their catch and run down to take photos of the animals trying to steal fish when they came in. We also really enjoyed the restaurant. Jordan, who works at the restaurant is a new amigo! He was so friendly and helpful! He was so kind to make up a plate of food and deliver it to our room when our son wasn’t feeling well. Every time we went to the restaurant or spent time in the outdoor lounge or pool area, we saw pelicans, Marine iguanas, sea lions, blue footed, boobies, Sally Lightfoot crabs, even a daily visit from a heron. We stayed here twice during our trip, and were able to leave a few items here that we didn’t need on Isabela, which made it easier to not be overweight for our interisland flight. It was also very easy to do laundry here. The hotel made a great homebase and we felt so comfortable and at home here! Even our quick dry clothes never got completely dry in The Galapagos, so we ended up doing laundry frequently. WiFi worked well. Such a convenient location to different restaurant options and tours. I recommend the blue footed booby cocktail at the restaurant. We had a number of meals here, were happy with the food and thoroughly entertained by all the wildlife hanging around the restaurant! Gracias a todos!

We had business in Panama and added the Galapagos as a 4 day extra... we had the choice of many hotels - This one caught our eye. Right in the middle of town, has a dinning area, morning buffet and a pool. We Loved it. The rooms were clean and Each had a balcony. The staff was great... Helpful and gave good suggestions. They also spoke English - Big help for us! there were also many restrurants close by.

We had a really comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the pool and the sea. Andrea on the front desk was welcoming and helpful, arranging a transfer to Isabela island and a taxi to the canal when we left for the airport. Breakfast was plentiful and included eggs. The food in the restaurant was very good too. Breakfast was served from 6.30 and take away boxes were available when we had an early start. The pool area was shared with a bunch of iguanas and the sea lion noted by other reviewers. ||One reservation: on several occasions we struggled to get hot water in the shower and had to get the front desk to restart the water heater.

Apart from the nice bar area this hotel has nothing going for it whatsoever. Rooms very outdated. Shower is a trickle, bathroom fittings covered in limescale. No hairdryer in one of the rooms we had. After fighting to open the patio doors we were unable to close them again and had to get maintenance in. No decent view from the floor we were on. The second room we had was on the opposite side of the street and had no external view but overlooked the staircase which meant it was really noisy when people entered or left the building. Again very outdated but at least the shower was slightly more powerful and there was a hairdryer. Would I return- NO

We booked this extremely last minute when we were already on the island and needed a hotel for the night. For the value I’d say it was pretty overpriced—while the rooms are quite clean, they are very dated (bathrooms and such) BUT I was told this is the last hotel that is exclusively run by Galapagonian owners (I think third generation if I remember correctly), so for that I would book again. It is also extremely well located steps away from all the shops and restaurants. ||However the #1 reason to book this hotel is for WENDY THE RESIDENT SEA LION!!! If you have kids, I feel they would get a kick out of waking up and seeing Wendy right outside their window. She lives there and freely hops from the lawn chairs in to the pool and then in to the sea. This hotel is the most oceanfront hotel I have ever seen, and that is saying a lot growing up in Hawaii! It’s a gem. We didn’t appreciate that the included breakfast ended at 8am (!?), so we skipped that, but if you are getting up early for an excursion it will work perfectly. One night was enough but we are sure glad we stayed here!! Gracias SolyMar!

Great location and close to everything in town. Fantastic ocean views with iguanas and sea lions frequenting the pool. Decent breakfast included. Loud music blasting from neighboring bars until midnight and people partying in the plaza right below the room balcony until 5am.

Great views & location right in town. Clean and super comfortable rooms. I stayed in 101 & it was quiet. Super friendly and kind staff. My mom stayed here a few weeks earlier and loved it as well, it’s one of few places in Santa Cruz that is very easy for those with mobility issues.
