Hotel Sommerau Chur

Rooms were okay - a bit out of the way from the old town. Can catch a bus if needed (free with Chur guest pass) - I think most ideal if you have a car. Like alot of swiss accommodation - no air- con. Hard to sleep even with fan when temps are higher than 30 degrees.

Very friendly and pleasant staff. We really enjoyed the local food. Unfortunately, we were just passing through and didn't stay at the hotel. Therefore, we can't comment on the hotel rooms. We really enjoyed the restaurant and would definitely recommend it for a stopover.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. It was a suitable room for staying with 3 small children. I also strongly recommend the restaurant. Both the breakfast and dinner were delicious. There is a special menu for children, they gave crayons and coloring paper to keep the children occupied until the food arrived. The children really liked the colorful plastic cups and animal figure plates. We also loved the ice creams

I highly recommend this location if you are a motorcyclist. Free parking right outside of the hotel room !

Terrific place. It has a format of a motel so can park your car in front of the room but the room was rather a hotel style: good size, nice bathroom, lots of amenities. They have a very good restaurant where making a reservation is a good idea. We went there for lunch and it was full. The staff are absolutely wonderful, helpful, amicable. The location is very good, close to the highway and about a mile from the old town. To get there you have to drive to a large parking lot on your right (CHF0.5 ph) and then walk some 200 meters to the old town.

Comfortable stay in Chur We recently stayed at Hotel Sommerau in Chur and had a mixed experience. The rooms were quite warm, which was a bit uncomfortable. However, the great parking right outside the room was a definite bonus, making it easy to access our vehicle. Breakfast was just okay, with a reasonable selection but nothing particularly outstanding. We didn't venture into the city center, as it was a 30-minute walk and the weather was rainy. On a positive note, we enjoyed a lovely dinner at the hotel restaurant. Overall, our stay was comfortable, with the convenient parking and decent dining experience being the highlights.

I travelled as part of a group a few months ago. We were extremely impressed with the hotel and the friendly staff. The rooms were clean and well presented. The staff were always very attentive. In particular there was a cleaner with dark curly hair (a Portuguese or Spanish lady?) she was extremely polite and very welcoming.
