Hotel Sonam Delek

It’s a small boutique hotel on Tibet Road around 200 mtrs from MG Marg, but the road to this hotel is steep. We have booked Super Deluxe Room. It was quite spacious and view from the balcony was panoramic. The look of the room was of Heritage type, with wooden cupboard,tables,chairs and flooring. All basic amenities was there in the room. Bathroom was spacious with good toiletries. Although the hotel is not huge but they have maintained it gracefully. They have a small restaurant and room service was prompt. The taste of the food was good, although we tried only during breakfast.|Overall it was a pleasant and comfortable stay. Will recommend for those who want to stay away from the crowd, but close to MG Marg and who love to have good views from the balcony.

Awesome Place to stay at Gangtok! We stayed twice here. Pronoy supported us i finding good vehicle and best driver to travel. Rooms are neat, clean. Service was great. Excellent view of gangtok from the balcony. Toilets and Bathrooms are well maintained. Safe for kids and old people too.MG road marg of gangtok and wellness park is just 5 mins away! I highly recommed this to stay at Gangtok. Best Wishes :)

Remarkable service with a splendid Himalayas view. The hotel is on a little hill, 5-10 walk from the famous MG Marg, quite near from the popular location that should be no worry about its location. But if you come with big size luggages or with the olds or children, you should take a car to stop by this hotel. The hotel offered a room service sufficiently such as a heater and hot shower The beds were clean and cozy. All stuffs in the room was above the surrounding average hotels (with the higher price). The mountain view from the balcony and the outdoor breakfast table was superb and worth to spend time for sure. But the most impression we expirienced with this hotel was how friendly the staffs were to us. With respectful, professional, and service-minded, they earned our admiration so after went to Lachung, we came book to this hotel agian and stayed for 2 more nights.

The hotel suite was fabulous!! So clean, so maintained, the service was outstanding. If you’re in Gangtok, this place is a must book, near to MG market and lal bazaar. Don’t even think twice about booking. Book it.

I think this hotel lived its life and management is no longer interested in renovating or recruiting proper staff. Please be careful you don’t even get a proper heater during any cold season and also you don’t even see a Moisturising in the bathroom. ||You also will be treated so badly by the staff and everything expect for the price what you pay will be treated like a favour by the staff. You always need to tell exact time of your arrival for breakfast. Otherwise you need to eat the same cold food cooked before 15 minutes during a peak cold day. ||They also don’t care if you cancel your stay in between the holiday and move to another hotel. Pure arrogance.||Furniture is at least 25 years old and you will go deep inside the sofa and bed as the spring effects are already gone. If you are lucky Geysers will work. Does not matter what you pay. ||Pathetic property and bad service

I visited the hotel after 10 years, the first time was for a business trip, and my recent visit was holidays with family and friends (about 20 persons) in October 2024 . The hotel location is amazing, the view from the hotel balcony is breathtaking. The hotel staff are so courteous and helpful. Manager Mr. Pranoy was very helpful while check-in and check-out, the kitchen staff and serving staff accommodated our requests for food always. The best part is they allowed us a birthday celebrations on the common balcony and made necessary arrangements. I highly recommend to people visiting Gangtok to stay at this place. It is very close to MG Road (walkable - 5 minutes). The best part is hotel staff accepting our requests with smile always.

The Hotel Sonal Delek is a very good property to stay with family and friends. The rooms are well furnished with an attached balcony from where the Kanchenjungha view is just amazing. One can sit in the balcony chair and enjoy the tea with the Kanchanjungha view. You can go to the MG market by walk in 5-10 mins and also get the cabs easily. The hotel also offers Indian and Chinese food starting from breakfast to dinner. You do not need to go outside for good food. The hotel staffs are too polite and humble and always ready to help guests. They will also help you to get the cab service for your tour.
