The Marais is a pretty great neighborhood to stay in, if you can afford it--it's centrally located in the heart of Paris. This hotel is located about 2 blocks away from the St Sebastian Froissart subway stop--you may have some difficulty finding it, as it's tucked away in one of the jillion narrow streets Paris is so well known for, but it's so close to the metro that once you do, you probably won't mind.
I stayed in one of the hotel's single rooms. As a New Yorker, I'm used to tiny, loud apartments, but this place really redefines "tiny". There's enough room for the bed, a table, and one of those small, fold-out "X"-shaped trayholder things I've never figured out the purpose of. A thin fold-in sheet of bamboo gave way to the most cramped bathroom I've ever seen. Fat people need not apply, as the sink is so close to the toilet, it would inevitably jam into them as they did their business, and crush them as they attempted to reach the shower. Also included is France's ubiquitous SHOWER CUBE. The showerhead itself is one of those "remove from wall and sprinkle yourself as you would a dirty dish" kind of things--if you leave the showerhead in its holster, it spins out of control, soaking the toilet, sink floor, bedroom, and occasionally the parts of you covered in soap. Women throughout France defended this design, as it apparently prevents you from washing your hair--apparently showercaps aren't very popular there.
The first night I didn't hear much. The second and third night, however, the rooms next to and above me must have been occupied--every step either of the occupants took sounded like a very large animal was about to burst into my room at any moment. On top of that, there was construction going on in the stairwell (although I couldn't tell what they were actually doing, it involved a lot of general beating of things).
Of course, this is Paris and a good neighborhood, so it's expected that the room would be small and insulation bad, but this place jilted me, even by the standards New York's own shoddy construction had lowered in me.
The Wifi worked well and throughout my entire stay, which I would come to find an accomplishment as my travels brought me further south.
Unless you're willing to drop around $200/night, you're not going to find an okay room in Paris, and this place is somewhat tolerable with earplugs. I wouldn't suggest it for a stay longer than 2 nights though.
