I really like this hotel. The staff are very friendly, the location is perfect, the breakfast is excellent, and the rooms are nice and comfortable. Why only 4 stars? The reason may sound ridiculous, but I really hated the sofa (junior suite #210) that was permanently converted into a bed for children. It was impossible to sit on and ugly to look at. We booked the junior suite to have some space to read and prepare for the next day. The sofa in its original state would have been perfect.

3 Stars are way too much for this „Hotel“ it‘s a Hostel at best. We arrived and the reception took more than 35 minutes to get done with the documents, they booked us 3 rooms instead of 2 even though we only booked 2. we came into the rooms and ours was pure horror, eyelashes and hairs flying around the „clean and fresh“ bed sheets. The blanket had weird little wet spots that wouldn’t go away, it‘s clear they were human but I don’t want to imagine what kind of stuff that is. We even had mold in the bathroom and near the air conditioning, for me as someone with asthma that’s just ridiculous. The walls are poorly soundproofed and you hear everything. Instead of calling my parents in law I could speak through the walls with them. So if you hear some sort of banging or screaming sounds in the night it’s probably not someone who’s getting robbed in the streets but handled in the sheets. After we told the reception that this is horrendous we got another room which was even worse because it had a massive and I mean MASSIVE Piss/Sweat/Sperm spot on the blanket and even the receptionist was shocked. The suite they didn’t want to give us only if we pay more money. I wrote a note similar to this for the Hotel, I wonder if they got it or some cleaning staff member put it in the trash. Luckily for us we only stayed one night. In the end I can say, Assisi is beautiful, this Hotel isn’t. Get. Your. Damn. Cleaning. RIGHT and DONE!! This is a joke.. I sure hope we were the only incident and other people had a better time and better rooms than us…

Very modern hotel set in a historic building within 50 metres of the basilica. Our Junior Suite was spacious (double bed plus a pull out sofa bed), clean and had a modern bathroom. There was a kettle in the room with a handful of fruit tea bags & paper cups (would have expected a coffee machine to match the quality of the hotel). Breakfast was OK but with limited selection and the same cakes on offer both days we were there. Overall, a great choice in Assisi that would be perfect if breakfast & in room refreshments were improved to match the quality of the rest of the hotel & staff.

This place is amazing! It is very close to the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi and convenient for shopping. The room was the most comfortable room I have stayed at in years. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was nice with lots of hot water and great water pressure. All of the basic amenities are provided and the hotel staff is extremely helpful. The breakfast was delicious and offered an excellent start to the day.||Please note that Assisi is a hillside village. As such, there are a lot of stairs in the hotel. (I think we only saw one hotel that may be “flat” with a lift.) If you need a room on the main level (which is still up some steps) or with minimal steps, be sure to let the staff know ahead of time.

Sorella Luna is a lovely, pretty hotel in a fantastic central location. Great customer service and beautiful rooms. No complaints and we will return.|HOWEVER, I would advise caution about using Booking.com to book this hotel. They charged my credit card twice for a duplicate booking, which I never made! They now seem to be making it very difficult to reclaim this erroneous charge. This really cast a shadow over this otherwise lovely stay.

I would put 6 stars for the service if I could. Stefano and the team were more than helpful during my stay! Due to the train strike on my travel day, my arrival time at the hotel was much later than anticipated. Stefano and the staff were extremely flexible with my new arrival time and making sure I got to the hotel safely. The rooms are clean and the location is less than a minute walk from St. Francis’ Basillica. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for three nights, and the view of the lush and peaceful Umbrian countryside was just amazing (at least from our room #206). Waking up in the morning to that view was quite an experience, and I couldn't stop taking picture. Its proximity to the Basilica of St. Francis allowed us to visit the magnificent church and attend the mass several times.

Must stay here in Assisi! I’ve traveled to Italy 3 times, and I have not stayed at a more friendly or desirably located hotel. Absolutely fantastic staff. They reached out to me the day of our check in just to remind me of the check in time limit. Denise was incredibly friendly and offered a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Check out was quick and easy was just as friendly staff.|Location is literally steps from the start of St. Francis Basilica grounds. It’s a decent walk up to the main piazzas, but great location for parking or checking in. Rooms were very comfortable, excellent AC, and very large bathroom space. Could not recommend enough. Buon viaggio!

Yelp
Very charming hotel! The staff were so kind to us, they even let us check in early and allowed us to get coffee before they opened the breakfast area. The location is great-- right next to the St. Francis Basilica. The bathrooms in the room are very clean and updated. We really enjoyed the breakfast too. Thanks, Hotel Sorella Luna.

Yelp
Stayed one night at this wonderful boutique hotel in Assisi. I found it on another review site and I can't believe it hasn't been reviewed on yelp. Perfect location, steps from the Basilica of St. Francis. Located short walking distance from parking- but we were able to pull up our car to drop off and pick up luggage. Camillo was the best host, he was welcoming, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. He also speaks English very well. The hotel seems to be very recently renovated with modern fixtures and attractive decor. Exceptionally clean. The air conditioning worked great- very important for summer. We are a family of four and the room with a bed and a trundle bed was perfect for us. Breakfast was great. I highly recommend visiting Assisi- and this is the hotel to stay in. If I get the chance to travel to Assisi- I will be back!

Yelp
I am 57 and my husband is 65. I have never written a negative hotel review before. We are not picky nor complainers. This was the worst experience of our lives as far as hotels go! They were rude, not understanding, and would not work with us. I was looking forward to Assisi being a highlight of our trip. We were so upset with the way we were greeted at this hotel - we left Assisi. We were unable to get to the hotel because of an event. We drove around crowded, narrow streets for an hour following their directions. They said oh well just wait a few hours. Maybe get a cup of coffee and wait. There was nowhere to wait. They could care less about us and were not helpful or concerned about finding a solution. We left for Perugia where we were treated very well. We were VERY disappointed with this Assisi experience and will share it with our friends and relatives in Italy and America!
