This review might be more about me than them!||I got irritated in the first few minutes, then irritation breeds more irritation!||I had a mission critical task which involved using a VPN. For some reason the management have chosen to make their WiFi not VPN compatible. This is not unheard of, but in the 1000s of times I’ve used WiFi it’s only the second time I’ve come across it.||But, what really irritated me was I tried to get help from the staff on two occasions, and nobody wanted to help me. I once read that a good hotel’s job is to make the impossible seem easy. This hotel made the easy seem impossible.||Trying to cheer myself up I took a drink on the terrace. This took an age to arrive. ||I then tried a bar on the beach. I was the only customer, and the lady behind the bar made eye contact and then set off to collect glasses. ||Over my visit I then starts to think about what irritates me in hotels, and this hotel has all of them: mini bar with no beer, bar with no pression, tricky coffee machine in the room instead of a kettle, breakfast buffets where you can’t serve your own coffee and valet parking.||In addition this hotel had about 1/3 non French standard electrical sockets, and wardrobes not deep enough to hang up dresses. They also had a carpet on the stairs which I thought was dangerous as if you are a certain age the pattern made it hard to see the treads. ||But! The location is amazing and the restaurant was fine. ||Had I not got off to such a poor start I wouldn’t have thought about the other trivial stuff.||By the way. The VPN issue? Walk to the next town and take a beer at the Hotel Neptune
