Hotel Spiess & Spiess

Lovely hotel in a great location. Family room was very large with two, fully separate bedrooms and a huge bathroom. Walkable to town center (~15 minutes) but also right by the metro stop for easy access to everything in the city. Staff was friendly and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend, including for families with kids.

Our stay was very enjoyable. The receptionist was polite, and the option for online check-in and check-out made everything super convenient. The room was impressively spacious—clean, cozy, and comfortable, with simple but pleasant decor. A baby cot was available, though unfortunately not free of charge, which was a bit disappointing. The breakfast was a highlight: a buffet with all-organic options that truly stood out—absolutely amazing! While the breakfast room wasn’t particularly fancy, it was cozy and very clean, creating a pleasant atmosphere to start the day. The location is good, with the metro just around the corner for easy access to the city. Another big plus: free parking right in front of the building, which was a great convenience.

This property is fabulous. We upgraded to the "Family Double Room, Balcony, Garden View" with a large room, comfortable bed, and walkout to their garden in the center of the complex. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and public transit to wherever you needed to go 200 meters from the hotel. There were some somewhat unfavourable reviews regarding the breakfast (included if you went for that option). Look, the breakfast area is not huge so you can't expect the same kind of breakfast from a large hotel chain. But, you had everything you needed included scrambled eggs to start your day off right. All the food was excellent, and organic. Lots of dining choices a 5 minute walk away. We loved staying here and highly recommend it to anyone staying in Vienna.

Lovely place, very welcoming and friendly. They did their very best to meet any needs we had. The breakfast was one of our best gastronomical experiences in Vienna. And I strongly recommend the yoga session, Nadine has a contagious positive energy!

We had a lovely, large and very quiet room overlooking the central courtyard garden, and all the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and well equipped, with tea and coffee making facilities available, complimented by a lounge next to reception where you could find supplies. Breakfast was excellent with ingredients used of the highest quality. We also loved the (free) sauna in the basement which was a lovely additional facility. What surprised us most was how conveniently located the hotel was being a mere 2 minutes walk from Rochusgasse U-Bahn station which has great connections around central Vienna. Also, although the hotel itself is located on a very quiet residential street, just the other side of the station is the lively Rochusmarkt with plenty of eating and drinking opportunities! Overall, highly recommended.

This townhouse is a comfortable small boutique hotel. The room I had was a “superior” room with a balcony that overlord a courtyard. It would have been spectacular if the sun had shone even once (but that’s not the hotel’s fault!) Even so it was spacious with natural light and a very comfortable bed. I appreciated the bathtub/shower combo. The very young staffers at the front desk were uniformly friendly. Not a situation where you’re going to get advice on restaurants and things to do, but that’s what the internet is for. Breakfast room is small but in a pleasant greenhouse. The food was good (not great, but more than adequate.). I had been looking for a quiet place and I got it - until the last morning when a young family checked in on my floor. But no noise from the street or courtyard bravo! I’d come back for sure.

Everything was perfect. No complaints. The only issue for me was the lack of dedicated parking space and I had to drive around the nearby streets to find a free spot. But the daily price of 4.10 euro was very acceptable. Cleanliness, helpful stuff, best location possible (10 meters from the metro u bahn), multiple shops nearby, pet unfriendly hotel, allergy free. Will visit again for sure.

Exceptionally lovely hotel, that was quiet and peaceful stay. The suite was fantastic, with a little balcony overlooking the garden courtyard. The location was ideal as easy access to the metro line at the end of the road and 10mins to Stephen Plaza the heart of the city.

Louis R is back in the building. Louis R loves Austrian hotels that only have 24 rooms, has beautiful architecture, has large organized rooftop rooms with large sky lights and a balcony overlooking the garden, large clean bathrooms with a bidet, delicious breakfast options, a clean spa, and prompt, affable service. Louis R loves the proximity of this hotel to the Underground and to the city center (located in District 3). Vienna, Austria is just as lucky to have famous/infamous iconic figures roll through it's city streets, like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gaston Glock, Sigmund Freud, Adolf Hitler, Franz Schubert, Christoph Waltz and Louis R. Be like Louis R. Travel to Vienna, Austria.

Perfect spot to stay in Vienna! First of all, I want to highlight how wonderful and accommodating Ulla Spiess is! I may have been a bit of a difficult visitor after I wanted to swtich rooms. Ulla was accommodating and wonderful about everything. She's also quite nice and really friendly. I visited this spot recently and it really is a super spot to stay in Vienna. It is approximately 3 stops from the "center" of town (depending on what you consider the center) and it's really easy to navigate the trains. The location that the B&B is in is really quaint and there are local restaurants nearby as well, so you don't have to travel to the more touristy area. Ulla had a great restaurant recommendation for my first night there (delicious and inexpensive!). I stayed four nights and had a great time. I was in two rooms while I was there (my fault that I moved). Both rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable. The breakfast area is really charming and there is an area that has glass windows where you can feel like you are eating in the garden. The food is really great and fresh. Cheeses, meats, cereals, juices, pastries...I could go on and on. The made to order scrambled eggs are great, too! Coffee is delicious! Everyone is really helpful and they really make you feel like you are staying in their home. The B&B is expanding - I'm not sure when everything will be open, but there may be more room options soon. Coziest bed and breakfast! We spent New Year's here and it was amazing. The neighborhood is quiet and very near to the underground entrance. They have a posh breakfast area and a great selection. Definitely coming back when we're in Vienna.
