"Spiess & Spiess Appartement-Pension Housed in a 19th-century building in Vienna’s third district, known as Landstraße, Spiess & Spiess is a relatively affordable, family-owned choice in a quiet residential area not far from the Danube. It’s just a 20-minute walk or five-minute subway ride on the U3 to St. Stephan’s Cathedral and other city center attractions. Rooms are large, clean, and simply decorated, with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. Even rooms facing the street are quiet, so guests should have no trouble sleeping here. Wi-Fi is included in the rate, and there’s an excellent breakfast spread. Travelers rave about the owner’s scrambled eggs."

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. It is very beautiful and comfortable. The common areas are well-decorated, and the lobby is particularly pleasant with complimentary water, tea, and coffee available. The breakfast was excellent, offering great vegan and organic options. The staff met all our needs, and the location is fantastic, being very close to public transport links. It was a truly wonderful experience in Vienna and we highly recommend it!

Really lovely modern style hotel that still felt cozy. We loved the staff, they were very on top of things and so sweet. The location is good for easy walking into the town center with many interesting shops along the way. You're not in a super touristy area so it doesn't feel crowded and noisy. We did not get the breakfasts here so cannot speak to that. Based on the little hospitality station at their check-in, I am sure the breakfasts would also be high quality.

My stay at your hotel was wonderful! The cleanliness, peace and courtesy were at the highest level. I booked a simple room, but it was still beautiful, modern, spotless, and tastefully decorated. The option to leave my luggage before check-in or after check-out is just perfect 😁. Thank you also for the complimentary teas — and the sauna is a remarkable bonus, providing complete relaxation after long walks exploring the city’s beauties. The breakfast, with its high-quality products, was very much appreciated and is highly recommended!

We spent almost two weeks at this family-owned property, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our junior suite in the Garden Building was wonderfully spacious, including the bathroom with shower/tub, and an entry area with huge shelf-unit storage. In the afternoons or evenings, we sat on the balcony to enjoy cold drinks (chilled in the room’s mini-fridge) accompanied by birdsong and a view of the garden. A Vienna U-Bahn subway station was just down the street and extremely convenient for getting to virtually everything we wanted to see in Vienna. Even the Wien Mitte mall, with many shops and places to eat, was just a few-minutes’ ride or 20-minute walk away. We found most locals on the subway and throughout Vienna to be friendly when we asked for information to help us navigate the subway or the streets. Spiess & Spiess’ daily breakfast (which in good weather can be eaten outdoors or indoors) amply filled us up for a day of exploring, and the hotel’s sauna area provided a wonderfully restful and rejuvenating afternoon. The reception staff—particularly Alina, Carlos and Johannes—were unfailingly friendly, helpful and responsive. So were the kitchen/breakfast staff and the housekeeping staff. Wonderful hotel owners Jean-Philipp and Nadine set the tone for the cordial and outstanding service. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for our anniversary visit to Vienna. This property is a gem.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights while visiting Vienna. The location about 100 meters from the Rochusgasse metro stop allowed us to get anywhere in Vienna quickly. Very quiet neighbourhood so no issues with sleeping. There is a small lobby with coffee/tea/water available 24/7. The breakfast was outstanding. Home made pastries, lots of choice, and excellent coffee. Vienna can be very expensive to stay within "the ring" and we thought this was an excellent value option close to the subway. Would highly recommend a stay.

Hotel Spiess and Spiess was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, from the easy self check in (as we arrived after 8 pm) to the gorgeous room (spacious, clean and cosy) to the lovely breakfast and tea/water/coffee station to the lovely staff you couldn't fault it. The wifi was also fantastic. Located only a 15 minute walk to the centre or else three stops on the under ground to the centre (the underground was very cheap and less than a two minute walk from the hotel). We can't wait to return and stay again

We were finding it very challenging to find a decent hotel in Vienna. After a lot of research, we finalized this Hotel. The hotel is more like an apartment converted into a Hotel. The reception staff only sits for limited hours so if you are getting there late, there will be no one to check you in but they provide with an e-check in option. We did not realize that there was a pretty decent flight of stairs upon entering the Hotel. So carrying heavy suitcases through that was a bit difficult. The elevator is super small. We were pleasantly surprised by our room. My daughter had a connecting door separate room with a single bed and table which she loved. We also enjoyed having our privacy. The rooms also had their individual AC units which helped us control the temperature as we liked. Room was spacious, had great lighting and was well equipped. Bathroom was also pretty big and had a wonderful rain shower head. The Reception has 24 hours drinking water station with water bottles that you can use and return back. The disappointing thing was the breakfast. We got super bored with the breakfast. Even the made to order things like oatmeal and eggs were unappealing. The place where the breakfast items were kept is super small and can get cramped up when multiple people are there. Staff was always courteous and friendly. The hotel is located very close to the Train station which was very convenient. Also some nice eating options close by. It was a bit far from the main tourist spots but the trains pretty much got us everywhere. There is no fitness center in this Hotel.

As first-time visitors to Vienna, we were a little worried about staying a little outside the city center, but the Hotel Spiess & Spiess turned out be the perfect place to stay: It's on a quiet residential street but it's quick and easy to get to most places via Vienna's excellent public transit system. The Rochusgasse U-Bahn stop is a few minutes away and subways and trolleys run frequently. We also enjoyed the neighborhood's outdoor Rochusmarkt and restaurants, including Babylon 3, a Middle Eastern restaurant about a 20-minute walk away. This hotel/b&b itself is great -- super helpful staff, very clean room, comfortable bed, ample breakfast looking out on the back garden, and a very nice modern sauna space. The room had air-conditioning, but we liked being able to open the windows and not having to use it.

Yelp
Louis R is back in the building. Louis R loves Austrian hotels that only have 24 rooms, has beautiful architecture, has large organized rooftop rooms with large sky lights and a balcony overlooking the garden, large clean bathrooms with a bidet, delicious breakfast options, a clean spa, and prompt, affable service. Louis R loves the proximity of this hotel to the Underground and to the city center (located in District 3). Vienna, Austria is just as lucky to have famous/infamous iconic figures roll through it's city streets, like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gaston Glock, Sigmund Freud, Adolf Hitler, Franz Schubert, Christoph Waltz and Louis R. Yelp
Perfect spot to stay in Vienna! First of all, I want to highlight how wonderful and accommodating Ulla Spiess is! I may have been a bit of a difficult visitor after I wanted to swtich rooms. Ulla was accommodating and wonderful about everything. She's also quite nice and really friendly. I visited this spot recently and it really is a super spot to stay in Vienna. It is approximately 3 stops from the "center" of town (depending on what you consider the center) and it's really easy to navigate the trains. The location that the B&B is in is really quaint and there are local restaurants nearby as well, so you don't have to travel to the more touristy area. Ulla had a great restaurant recommendation for my first night there (delicious and inexpensive!). I stayed four nights and had a great time. I was in two rooms while I was there (my fault that I moved). Both rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable. The breakfast area is really charming and there is an area that has glass windows where you can feel like you are eating in the garden. The food is really great and fresh. Cheeses, meats, cereals, juices, pastries...I could go on and on. The made to order scrambled eggs are great, too! Coffee is delicious! Everyone is really helpful and they really make you feel like you are staying in their home. The B&B is expanding - I'm not sure when everything will be open, but there may be more room options soon. Thanks to Hotel Pension Spiess & Spiess Appartements for a great visit! I hope to be back!

Yelp
Coziest bed and breakfast! We spent New Year's here and it was amazing. The neighborhood is quiet and very near to the underground entrance. They have a posh breakfast area and a great selection. Definitely coming back when we're in Vienna.
