Hôtel Square Louvois (Paris, Île-de-France) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A modest little gem hiding practically in plain sight, Hôtel Square Louvois stands just across the eponymous square from the National Library, a few minutes’ walk in either direction from the Palais Garnier and the Louvre. It’s modest when compared to Paris’s grand hotels and its most exuberant boutiques, but it’s a reminder that great taste is just as valuable as a grand gesture." - Tablet Hotels

Hotel was in a great neighborhood that was walkable to a number of tourist attractions. The area had a lot of food options and a ton of different asian restaurants. The rooms were extremely cute, very parisian, and the breakfast was extremely tasty with a lot of options, including french items. The pool was small and beautiful - it is a cold pool, but on the warmer side. We really enjoyed our stay.

We had a great experience here at this hotel. It’s in a great location and close to so many things and attractions. The rooms were nice and it even has a bathtub that my wife appreciates. One evening we went to the pool and relaxed after a long day. The included breakfast was also very good. Overall a great place to stay.

This hotel was the best! Authentic french breakfast in the morning with freshly squeezed juice. Great location in the second arrondissement, within walking distance of all the major central landmarks. excellent staff who were attentive, warm, welcoming, and responsive to all of our needs, especially Youssef at the concierge desk. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris, and will hopefully use them again in the future.

Google
Definitely a mixed review of the hotel. Lots of great things but some drawbacks to be aware of, and I do think the overall rating is overstated for the price: Pros - location is fantastic, such a lively area - rooms are kept incredibly clean and housekeeping does a great job - front desk staff are friendly, polite, and accommodating - the water on tap (sparkling and still) may be my favourite thing I’ve found at a hotel in Europe! - the pool is one of a kind and very relaxing Cons: - the beds are very uncomfortable; our queen was simply two single mattresses pushed together so they dipped in the middle - is it LOUD. I cannot emphasize this enough. If you are a light sleeper, prepare not to sleep [1) A bit outside the hotel’s control, but there is roadwork that started promptly 630-7am every day we were there. 2) Delivery trucks for the restaurants in the area use this street to unload. This could be anytime between 10pm to 7am and they make a lot of noise 3) noise between the rooms travels very easily]

This was our favorite hotel out of a stay in Edinburgh, York, London and Paris. The bed was very comfortable and the room modern and clean. My only complaint would be the frosted glass on the bathroom door. I would prefer more privacy and turning on the light in the middle of the night is very disruptive to the still sleeping spouse.||That aside, the staff was friendly. Breakfast was very good and we liked the evening reception as well. Would definitely stay again if we were back in Paris.

The staff members are all friendly and helpful. This hotel is clean and right near many major attractions while remaining quiet and comfortable. A wonderful place to stay in the heart of it all without the crowds and noise.

Google
Loved the location. It’s very quiet, but everything is so accessible. Easy walk to cafes, museums, parks, etc. I was shocked with how spacious it felt! Our room was beautiful, and didn’t feel cramped at all. We had a lot of luggage, but they are laid out so well with great storage that we were able to comfortably unpack. The bathroom is a huge plus. Usually hotel bathrooms in Paris are so tiny, but ours was spacious and updated. The staff on site is incredibly efficient and welcoming. They truly take care of you with the utmost care. I think it is very well priced for the quality & amenities. This was 100% the best European hotel I have stayed in, and would happily consider it again in the future.

Google
We did like the location of this hotel, but had several issues with the room and service. Our shower didn’t drain properly and we had to ask the desk two days in a row for a fix. The first day nothing was done and we had to ask again. They didn’t really fix it and never followed up with us, but just unscrewed drain stopper entirely and left it rolling around the shower floor. The mattress was so uncomfortable both my husband and I struggled to sleep at night and had back pain. This was our biggest issue with the hotel, as the physical discomfort and bad sleep impacted the entire trip. The hotel is fine, but definitely wasn’t a great experience. We did not find it welcoming and found the staff somewhat unhelpful, uncommunicative, and generally disinterested. We don’t plan to return. The only plus is that it’s dog friendly.

Yelp
One of the tricky parts about finding a hotel in Paris is that you truly have tons of options. Boutique hotels are plentiful and you can find something suitable in any price range. This was my second visit to Paris and I brought my mom for a "bucket list" trip. I wanted an area that would appeal to us both, along with being close to popular landmarks. So, if you're not set on a particular hotel, you may find it easier to figure out which neighborhood/arrondissement appeals to you most...then, narrow down your hotel. It worked for us, and, I must say--Hotel Square Louvois was a terrific choice! The hotel is centrally located in the 2nd arrondissement and is a 10 minute walk to the Louvre...12 minutes to the Seine River...20 minutes to Champs-Elysees. Wonderful bistros and shopping can be found nearby, in addition to several metro stations, which was super convenient. Although a fairly busy area during the day, it was very quiet in the evening. Of note, the hotel is new, chic, ultra cozy and didn't "break the bank" thanks to the online promotion I found (ahhhh, I I love when that all comes together in my accommodations :-). The rooms are a good size by European standards, with modern furnishings. Plus, the bathrooms are well appointed with tub and shower. They also have a "spa like" pool in the basement and modest exercise room nearby for the basics. Breakfast is available in the morning (for a fee, approx €20), but there is an afternoon tea time, from 4-6pm, which is included with your stay and provides a nice selection of sweets. Honestly, it would be hard to go wrong with this hotel choice in fabulous Paris and I highly recommend! The reason for 5 stars is due to the hotel staff, who were absolutely amazing, from the front desk with Laurie Anne and Lindsay...to the Concierge, Management and Kitchen staff! They helped make our stay easy, breezy, which is want you want on vacation, right? Happy Travels!!!

Yelp
Adorable boutique hotel in Japan/Korea town of Paris. Paris is abundant of boutique hotels and there's just too many options to filter through to find the perfect one, but we were lucky with this one. Square Louvois is in a small alley but inside has so many characters and charm from the moment you walk in. Fresh flowers greet you as well as the friendly staff. Everything is on a smaller scale like a little nook and cranny of the computer room, the waiting room, the reading room, and etc. Everything was modern and up to date with a hint of Parisian accents and charms. I believe it's one of the newer hotels and had no issues at all except our trip got extended to another night and there wasn't any rooms available due to its popularity for our next night. Location is great to explore the Louvre, Notre-Dame, and is a central location from the tourist side and the local side. Price was also reasonable and would definitely recommend this for your trip.

Yelp
Beautiful building, inside and out. Front desk staff are charming and helpful. The room was decent sized, for $300 night (breakfast not included) it could've been a tad nicer. However, for price and location, this definitely seems like one of the best options. Two blocks away from the Jardin du Palais Royal, and a 10-minute walk to the Louvre, it's a pretty good location. It's also just around the corner from great dining spot, Maceo. Would certainly stay here again

Yelp
Beautiful new hotel. So many pros for me to list. This hotel is located right in the heart of Paris. Directly in the center, you walk any direction and get to something. We walked to The Louve museum. We walked around to do some sight-seeing. The Opera is very closeby. Metro/Subway station is 2 minutes away so you're able to get far as well. How do I know all of this? Well when I walked in to check in, the hotel lobby front desk were amazing. They took the time to circle a few things on a complimentary map they handed out to me. WHICH I needed because I came to France without internet on my phone. WIFI only. They also offered my guest and I something to drink as we were checking in. They then escorted us upstairs to our room and explained how to connect to WIFI. I am very pleased with my stay at this hotel. We became so close with the staff during our few days there, that we didn't want to go anywhere else. Their breakfast is amazing. During the mornings, we would come downstairs and help ourselves to meat, cheese, breads, eggs, bacon and juice / coffee. I actually thought I heard from the front desk that breakfast is complimentary but after checking out, I see they billed us. Make sure you clarify on that if you hear them tell you it's complimentary.

Yelp
Perfect location, perfectly renovated hotel with brand new everything! Amazing bed, haven't slept this great in awhile. The staff was pleasant and helpful! Spent the last evening downstairs in the Roman type bath/pool.... at first I thought it was a huge hot tub because the air is so moist and warm but nope! It was perfect temperature and I didn't want to leave. Let me say, my boyfriend and I booked a hotel 7th Arr but were so disappointed we booked this hotel randomly because of reviews. What a god damn blessing. My first time to Paris and this hotel made my trip perfect!

Yelp
Hotel Square Louvois is a new and chic hotel that my husband and I were fortunate enough to learn about through our online travel agency, Great Value Vacations. The decor and facilities are modern and beautiful. They also offer tea time between 4 pm and 6 pm (or 1600 to 1800), which was a nice reprieve from the blistering winter (we went in January). The hospitality was superb--we were even escorted to our room on the first day of our stay so the host could teach us how to use the amenities in the room (climate control, TV, espresso machine), which was a first for me. We would've eventually figured out how to work the gadgets, but it was refreshing that someone took the time to make us feel welcomed. The nicest surprise for me was the location; it's situated near a myriad of Asian restaurants. I don't know if the neighborhood is considered Koreatown, Japantown or whatnot, but after a few weeks without Asian food, this Asian will have a hankering for a taste of home.

Yelp
This Chic Hotel is EXCELLENT with its very friendly staff, cleanliness, room size, breakfast and convenient location. 15 minute walk to Louvre & shopping areas. Metro lines are within 3-12 minutes walk. Its cross street is full of Asian restaurants mostly Japanese, which is perfect for us (because we need rice too!). We were surprised with champagne on our 2nd night and a sweet note and macarons on our last night. Only 1 negative that I hope they can correct...The shower door which opens inwards is too wide for the size of the shower stall that someone of a larger size like me would have to squeeze on the corner to get in/out of the shower. Overall, This is an awesome hotel that I will keep recommending.

Yelp
We had a great stay. This hotel is haunted. A ghost farted in my bed.

Yelp
Where to even begin?! Hotel Square Louvis exceeded my expectations, yeah I read tons of good reviews on the place that comforted me but once we checked in, I knew I made the right decision to book here. It was our 1st time in Paris and I'm so thankful we were here in 2nd arrods. because it's walking distance to three major spots: Louvre, Opera House and Palais Garden. I'm sure I'm spelling some of that wrong but you catch my drift. The bed is nicely firm, the shower is the type you can spend your entire life time in. The breakfast is expensive $20 euro but so worth it because it's convenient (so simple but so good) and your basically in little Asia town with easy access to Korean, Japanese and Viet food if you're craving (but you wont) beacuse your ass in Paris. Lastly, the staff is kick ass. Super friendly, eager to help and they speak English so well. The front desk agent who checked us in literally escorted us to our room and showed us how the room works (kinda don't need it but it's an awesome gesture) The other front desk agent even walked out to give our Uber instructions on where to drop us off for the Seine Cruise.

Yelp
We had the best experience at this hotel! Besides the fact that it's in the perfect location (walking distance to pretty much anywhere), the staff exceeded our expectations! Vincent (breakfast server) gave us so many tips and feedback about the city and we were grateful he shared this with us, as it was our first time in Paris. We had delightful conversations with him and my husband and I enjoyed it immensely. The prices for this hotel were not over the top and had wonderful amenities. We will be back for sure!

Yelp
My review is only based on the booking process. I went online to book with Hotel Square Louvois for October 2019. Since the trip was more than 6 months out, I made sure to select a rate that WAS NOT prepaid. It was clearly stated that I could cancel the reservation prior to the trip and I would only be charged on arrival. Two days later, I noticed that my credit card was charged for the entire trip. I emailed to clarify the rate and explained that I shouldn't have been charge. The hotel responded and apologized, but proceeded to state that they would refund me if I decided to cancel the reservation. I then had to explain that I chose that rate for a reason and did not want to prepay for the hotel so far in advance of my trip. The hotel refunded me, but I still had almost $8 on my credit card that was unaccounted for. After speaking with the hotel again, I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. My credit card company resolved the issue quickly, but the entire experience was inconvenient.

Yelp
The staff here are the best. Santiago and Veronica rock. Rooms are great. Only issue I had was tub barely drained and the scrambled eggs are not how I like. Hotel is in great location. You can't go wrong staying here.

Yelp
We had the most wonderful experience at this hotel!!! I found it on yelp and although it only has 8 other reviews they were all so glowing and the website was so nice we decided to go ahead and book. Using their online system we got a deal for booking and paying ahead of time and not only had a discounted room but also breakfast was included. All of the staff were SO nice and helpful, they even gave us a small bottle of complimentary champagne when we mentioned this was our honeymoon and they left small Easter treats in our room. Everything was spotless and clean, our room was on the smaller side but it had a king bed (which Europeans call a double) and the bed was comfy! The hotel is in the Japanese district but is very central and close walking distance to many other sites, restaurants, and 10 min to the metro. We only took cabs from the airport and to the train station just because of all our luggage. Breakfast was delicious, everything was quiet at night, the AC was perfect, and we even went swimming one afternoon when we were particularly tired. I would 100% recommend this hotel to others and this was the most wonderful place to start our travels!!!!

Yelp
I can only think of superlatives to describe this lovely boutique hotel which sits behind an unassuming facade in the heart of Paris. For the few short days we spent there, we wanted for nothing and found the service, staff, and accommodations to be excellent. A short walk takes you to all the mandatory Paris landmarks, and our biggest problem while we were there was deciding at which restaurant to eat - there are so many wonderful ones!

Yelp
Stayed here for about a week with my husband on a Parisian holiday. The place is near perfect. Service is flawless, rooms are spotless and stylish, staff is friendly and makes you feel extremely well taken care of. Location is truly ideal. Only downside is that it is a bit small. Otherwise absolutely top notch.
