Hotel St. Annen

Our family stayed at this hotel for two days. The staff was friendly and informative. The breakfast was delicious and filling. Located in the St Pauli District, it gave us access to the arts and nearby harbor. If we visit Hamburg again, we will be certain to stay at this hotel!

Perhaps the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. The staff were very helpful, the rooms had everything you could need and of great quality, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was just a five-minute walk from the evening nightlife.

The environment is very welcoming and the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. The location was great and very well connected. The surroundings are very nice and quiet and there are the most important requirements close by. Would definitely consider returning should we visit Hamburg again.

Great, quiet hotel with the friendliest staff, hence the 4 stars. However, 1 star is deducted due to the unsafe atmosphere of the neighborhood toward Jews. We really felt unsafe. Not the hotel’s fault by any means, but the nearby signs, stickers on the walls and the radicals, all convey the message: Jews are unsafe here once again. We considered leaving the same day we arrived but decided to stay, not to run away. But it starts with some signs, and we all know how it ends. Great hotel, but the area is not recommended for fellow Jews.

What a lovely family hotel. Nice family rooms for four. The service was splendid, proactive and helpful. The breakfast was great and the family was pleased. There is a small car garage and 2 chargers. The area is busy with lots of restaurants and bars but we did not get distracted during the night. There was AC on the room.

Hi,||What a wonderful place to stay over for two nights! Excellent service at the hotel and positive way of treating us. We had booked 2 nights and got a very clean room on the first floor with windows towards the coutryard. Even though the first night was Saturday the room was very quiet. ||The hotel was situated in 10-20 minutes walk to several sights in Hamburg which was perfect and 24/7 reception made it easy to us to come back to hotel in the Sunday night after a concert outside Hamburg. ||We are very pleased with our visit and want to send our greetings to the positive personal of teh hotel. The room felt more like a motel room, quite basic, rather than the top rated hotel we were expecting. In exchange for a drink you could forgo a daily clean. You needed to hand your key in every time you left the hotel which we found odd.||A specific time for breakfast must be booked the day prior which is slightly annoying when on holiday. On day one we were given no explanation of breakfast options, the maître d’ just asked did we want eggs and bacon. I asked for toast but was told they didn’t have any. The selection on the buffet was not extensive. |The next day we got a much nicer welcome from a lovely girl who gave us the missing explanation - breakfast is “small but mighty” - she also arranged to toast some bread for us. ||They had a lovely courtyard where you could sit and have a quiet drink. The wine was especially good. The bar was a nice spot to have a drink before bed though drinks are pricey. ||The location is good, a relatively easy walking distance to places of interest. It’s very close to the Reeperbahn, the famous red light district.

We had a fantastic 3-night stay at St Annen. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and most impressively the breakfast was fantastic (and great value for money). The staff were always happy to help, whether with wines or the lovely selection of teas. Also, the location is good - just short walks from Sternschanze and Karolinenviertal. Good bars and restaurants. We would definitely recommend and come back.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and found it to be a wonderful experience. It's near so many things while still being on a quiet enough side street for good sleeping (even with the windows open). Sarah at the front desk helped us so much with lovely restaurant recommendations and reservations. Definitely recommend staying here, it's lovely and so organized!

Because of an early flight, the breakfast room was opened for me before its usual time--much appreciated. There is a very noisy bar directly opposite--suggest booking rooms not on the street side. Mineral water was provided in the room, without any means to open the bottles. Screw tops would be a better option. The staff is very pleasant and helpful.

A privately-run friendly hotel just off the Reeperbahn (but far enough off it!), St. Annen is pretty nice. It's open 24 hours and the rooms are fine. For 78euro inc. breakfast, a single room is a touch small, but the amazing pillow more than makes up for it! There is also free wireless access. Breakfast is standard German buffet fayre, but not bad at all.

A nice compact hotel that is clean and comfortable. Perfect for a weekend break or for a business trip and at 78 Euros a night, reasonably priced. All in all, a Hotel I have no hesitation in recommending to others.
