The room felt more like a motel room, quite basic, rather than the top rated hotel we were expecting. In exchange for a drink you could forgo a daily clean. You needed to hand your key in every time you left the hotel which we found odd.||A specific time for breakfast must be booked the day prior which is slightly annoying when on holiday. On day one we were given no explanation of breakfast options, the maître d’ just asked did we want eggs and bacon. I asked for toast but was told they didn’t have any. The selection on the buffet was not extensive. |The next day we got a much nicer welcome from a lovely girl who gave us the missing explanation - breakfast is “small but mighty” - she also arranged to toast some bread for us. ||They had a lovely courtyard where you could sit and have a quiet drink. The wine was especially good. The bar was a nice spot to have a drink before bed though drinks are pricey. ||The location is good, a relatively easy walking distance to places of interest. It’s very close to the Reeperbahn, the famous red light district.
