I would highly recommend Hotel St Marie. We were a block off Bourbon Street and just a few blocks from Jackson Square. It was a great location to go in any direction. The hotel was super clean and comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking Toulouse Street and that was really nice. ||Every staff member we came in contact with was super nice and helpful. The Housekeeping services were excellent, front desk people very friendly and helpful, the cafe people and the bar staff were great as well. We also had dinner one night in the bar and the blackened redfish was delicious. We stayed 3 nights and definitely will be back. One note though, if you don't like alot of noise, don't choose a balcony on Toulouse street. Very loud. We expected that and were just fine with it, we wanted to be close to Bourbon Street but others may not want that. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
Charming hotel one block from the craziness of Bourbon Street. Easy walk to everything! Lovely courtyard. The attached restaurant/bar is great. The staff is terrific - especially Lonnie, the bellman and ambassador at Hotel St. Marie. Definitely staying there again.

Google
Staff was exceptional, really made us feel welcomed. Keisha and Jermaine were especially helpful and courteous. A special shout-out to Darron for all his help and kindness. Room was a little small, but meet our needs. Area was quiet and bed was comfortable. Restaurant - food was great, service was exceptional, Melissa and Kristen......friendly, courteous, and caring. Overall, a great place to stay! If we come back, this will be the spot.

Google
This is a charming little hotel, at the edge of the French Quarter but at the same time less than a block from Bourbon Street. This made for a quiet location in September despite the sheer noise of Bourbon Street. The hotel and courtyard were as pretty as the online pictures. We found the beds very comfortable, and I never say that. The rooms were tasteful and up to date. Our little balcony looked over the pool. I've reviewed the in-house restaurant separately so I'll briefly say that both the coffee shop and bar were wonderful. We'll be back!

We stayed in a king deluxe room at the end of September. The room was more spacious than expected and the room was very clean and comfortable. We were able to walk to most of the sites from the hotel as the location was perfect. It was a short distance from Bourbon Street but far enough from the late night noise. We enjoyed coffees at Vacherie and there is also a small grocery store across the street. The courtyard and pool were beautiful and a nice spot to relax throughout the day.

Google
Hotel St. Marie location was perfect and central for all walks around the French Quarter to shopping, restaurants and landmarks. Never once felt unsafe. Staff is super friendly and welcoming to anything you may need. Rooms are a very good size. Beds are extremely comfortable. Balcony is wonderful for people watching if they are available. Pool and patio always a great place to relax. We love the old New Orleans vibe. This was our second stay this year and are already looking forward to seeing them again soon. A+

Google
Comfortable, quiet room in a great location. On-site restaurant was surprisingly good. Room had a nice bed and ok bathroom with a fan that always ties on when you walk in for some reason. Just one elevator for guests, so there can be some wait times. Staff was mostly friendly. In all, I’d rate this place as above-average.

Google
stunning hotel, staff is so friendly and kind (even helped us out to find cheaper snacks), very clean, super comfy beds with a super comfy extra blanket, we felt very safe the night we stayed. check in/out was very quick and easy, as well as the valet parking. the location is also amazing and in the perfect part of the french quarter so it isn’t loud when you’re going to sleep. thank you so much!!

Yelp
Very nice Boutique hotel. This is my 21st visit to New Orleans and I let my baby pick the Hotel this time. He tends to like more rustic and historic locations so here we are. The price was probably about $300 less for four nights then what would have been my choice of the Four Points or Omni Royal. We got a street view balcony on the second floor. I recommend requesting the second floor if you'd like a little bit larger balcony. Our balcony had a full size table with four chairs and we had two queen beds so the room was a little bigger. The room comes equipped with the safe, small closet, and a small mini fridge. The mini fridge got down to about 36° so that was pretty good in the New Orleans heat. This hotel does not include other items that I prefer which are like a rooftop pool and bottled water available during the day. It's pretty basic but does the job. The staff was very friendly but not very informative. We were handed our keys when we checked in and told where the elevator was. Not told anything about the restaurant attached to the hotel or about the pool and Courtyard area which are pretty cool areas. The rooms do not come with an iron and ironing board or steamer so you must request them which is what we did. You have to wait for it to be delivered by housekeeping which was very fast. The restaurant that is attached is called Vacherie and they have happy hour every day from 3:00 to 6:00. The funny part is I've always stopped at this small restaurant and bar every trip but somehow did not make it downstairs except to pick up a croissant in the morning. There is a small grocery store across the street called toulouse Grocery and they have small essentials such as beer, wine and water. I did not find this place to be too clean and they do make breakfast sandwiches in the morning but I didn't feel comfortable eating food from there from the looks of the place. I did sit and enjoy the courtyard once but I did not use the pool. The pool is very small and I will add some pictures so that you can see. I would return to this hotel but next trip will be my choice so I will be picking the Omni or the Four Points because I am the modern spoiled hotel lady and I like my extra amenities

Yelp
4.5 stars for Hotel St. Marie. This is a medium sized hotel located in the French Quarter of New Orleans. It's around the corner from Bourbon St. , so if drinking and debauchery is your thing you're in the right place. Hotel St. Marie is very VERY clean. Zero smells in our room, everything was clean. The beds were extremely comfortable, I slept SO well. Most rooms have a small balcony. Ours faced the courtyard with view of the pool. It was very quiet on our floor. The only noise I heard was housekeeping early in the morning in the hallways. The bathroom was clean, no bathtub which was fine with me. Counter space was just right for two persons. There were plenty of towels. There's a closet space with hangers and a light that had a sensor so it turned on whenever there was movement. There was a small fridge, a coffee maker, and basic coffee and tea amenities. Everything in the hotel was in working condition. The hotel was always clean and well maintained. The hotel staff was AWESOME! Joe not only took our suitcases up but he gave us a quick tour of the first floor and also gave us tips on where to eat. He was awesome! The ladies at the front desk were great too, they were SO nice and accommodating. We showed up a little early and we were allowed to stow our suitcases while we waited for our room to be ready. On the first floor of Hotel St. Marie, you have access to Vacherie and a cafe next to it. They're both accessible from the inside and outside. We dined at Vacherie our second night, they took such good care of us. Their bread pudding is DIVINE.... There's a small store across the street, it closes early. Hotel St. Marie is within walking distance of so many places, definitely stay here if you're visiting NOLA! For context, I stayed here March of 2024.

Yelp
This hotel has been our favorite since our happy "accident". Our room had been double booked and Aaron put us in the only room available, the King Suite. An amazing hotel and staff. We stay in this very room, when we can, when we go home. It's location is perfect and near everything! If anything is ever wrong, they make it right! All the way to the owner. It's an amazing local hotel chain and I stay nowhere but the Valentino hotels.

Yelp
First time visitors Located in the french quarter across from the Oliver house hotel Parking is limited on the streets and the hotel has a parking structure attached - additional cost unknown Arrived late well near 1am to check in - luckily there is overnight front desk agent to check in and assist! The person was helpful and even walked us directly to where our room was located. It would appear this hotel has 2-3 floors. There is a cafe and restaurant on site along with happy hour. The room overall for 3 people was spacious with 2 queen beds, a coffee tea area, small fridge, flat screen, and large bathroom that had a standard shower tub combination and accessible walk in shower. The main concerns that came up was the poor drainage in the bathroom sink and shower tub combo. Mosquitos do lingo out the door / doorway area and of course bugs can't be controlled. The other concern was when the housekeeper came to do a a quick refresh. She was visible upset and not friendly even after we thanked her . We left everything central and in a tidy pile so she wouldn't have to continuous go back and forth. Location was very walkable to bourbon, royal, all the main streets of the french quarter. You can certainly hear the cars and music from the outside and upstairs guest walking on the floor. For a room to sleep and store things it works, if looking for all the bells and whistle it may or may not be the spot. There are a few courtyards and pool area. The staff was friendly and greeted and wish us a good day, overall wouldn't mind staying here again.

Yelp
Clean, friendly staff, great location, the air conditioning worked well and room darkening drapes were appreciated. Pool and courtyard was a bonus. I will stay here again.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at the Hotel St. Marie! The customer service before we even arrived to the location was top tier, they were so sweet and helpful with getting us checked in and our vehicle parked for the stay. The room was clean and welcoming and we loved the addition of the balcony that had overlooked the courtyard and pool. We left our truck parked for pretty much the entire time because everything is within walking distance in the French quarter from this hotel. It was a lovely experience for my husband and I for our anniversary.

Yelp
All of the staff, especially Lonnie and Keesha, they ARE southern hospitality. Location was perfect, my 4th time here and will return.

Yelp
GREAT place to stay! 1 block from Bourbon St and within walking distance to everything in the French Quarter - without the all the street noise. Quiet, clean and friendly staff. Rooms are small, but we just slept there, so not a problem.

Yelp
Amazing staff - especially the morning front desk gals and the valet guys. Here for Jazzfest and very comfortable good sized rooms. Everything was clean and working. I enjoyed that it was large enough to have a pool in the courtyard, but small enough to not feel overwhelmed. A block off Bourbon, but was quiet and easy to drive or ride share to other parts of the city. Will absolutely stay again.

Yelp
Great place to stay. I got valet. Workers were really nice. My room was and the 3 floor and it was great... MAKE SURE TO STAY HERE IF YOU GO TO FRENCH QUARTER

Yelp
We have stayed here twice in one year. We have enjoyed each stay. The hotel is within close range of walking to your favorite spots in the Vieux Carre!! I recommend to pay the extra for parking.. the valet are top notch. The rooms are clean, well kept, and stocked with amenities you'll need for your trip in NOLA... if there is no iron/iron board ask for one !!! The pool, courtyard ambiance is a great place to relax.

Yelp
Very nice hotel right in the heart of the French Quarter. The staff were amazing and very helpful to anything we needed. If you get there early they have secure location for luggage until room is ready.

Yelp
Our first stay at St Marie and it is now our favorite hotel in the quarter. Mostly because of the employees. Joe is the absolute best and gave us a tour of the hotel when we checked in. Super personable. Also, When the store across the street was closed, the girl at the front desk offered to go to a nearby store for us on her lunch break. We had a street side balcony room and it was huge. Extremely clean. Amazing customer service- we will be back. Thanks Joe!!!

Natalie S.

Yelp
Hotel is very nice in a great location in the French Quarter. However, please be aware that the sanitation department comes Wednesday at 4 AM in the morning. So much for a good night's rest.

Yelp
When we decided to go to New Orleans, our first step was book a hotel. Close to Bourbon street, a balcony overlooking the street, a pool and a bar. Hotel St Marie checked all the boxes so we booked here. Upon arrival I noticed a sign that says doors locked at 10 pm use your room key to enter. That was kind of reassuring. The lobby was spacious, bright and clean. We were greeted by a lovely, friendly, young lady. She was welcoming and cordial. We arrived about 90 minutes before check in. We planned on dropping our bags off and heading out to see the city. Change in plans, our room was ready!! We headed up to 4th floor. A clean spacious room awaited us. The room had 2 beds, a mini fridge and a balcony the overlooked Toulouse St. The pool is located in the courtyard, with balconies surrounding the pool, seems like most of the rooms have balconies. The bar is well stocked for any drink you can think of. A cafe and a restaurant are attached to the hotel. If we sat on the balcony we could definitely hear street noise from Bourbon st but with the door closed, it was quiet and peaceful. Overall it was a perfect stay, about half a block from Bourbon but far enough way that the street noise wasn't an issue.

Yelp
The hotel was one of the dirtiest hotels I have ever stayed in. The air was musty and smoky and it never went away. The room has cracking walls and wallpaper. The air vents and carpet was just caked in dust/dirt. There were bugs and spiders that made it's way in the room. We stayed in the hotel and became ill from the dirt and air. I don't understand why the staff can't clean the place up. The cleaning people don't clean the room at all. No sheets or pillowcases were changed. All they did was tuck the sheets and give new towels. They don't even take the used towels away. On the last day, the TV was broken. Don't stay in this french quarter hotel.
google avatar

Shamalien S.

Yelp
Checked in after an 8 hour drive to find a huge 12" brown stain on the bed. After asking to change rooms they were fully booked but said they come swap the mattress. We decided to go have a long lunch while they cleaned the room. Upon return the bed had still not been cleaned and was told they would get to it on order of rooms. All I wanted to do was take a nap after a long trip, but instead i sat in the courtyard for an additional two hours while they finally got the room cleaned. Any a fairly shitty experience overall but obviously your mmv. Oh also the lobby smells like mothballs which is gross

Yelp
The best part about this hotel was the location. You're right next to bourbon st and walking distance to the entire French Quarter. We had a room that faced the street which could be loud at times but we were out every night and it didn't really bother us. They have a small outdoor pool. Rooms were clean and they have a cleaning service everyday for you. They also have valet parking for $40/day but we found a spot hero spot a couple blocks away for a cheaper price.

Yelp
Loved my stay at Hotel St Marie. It's about 25 mins away from the airport and just steps away from Bourbon street. It's also walking distance from a lot of stores, restaurants and attractions. The staff was super nice and very friendly always greeting you in the lobby. There's a picturesque courtyard in the back with a pool and they also have a cafe beside the lobby which was very convenient. The rooms are spacious and some rooms have balcony options facing the courtyard or street.

Yelp
Great location, helpful staff, room was big, a/c was cold, when we needed something they brought it right up & price was more reasonable than many other hotels - would stay here again.

Yelp
Hotel St Marie does not provide a safe environment for its guests. On 3/23 thru 3/28 I stayed at the Hotel St Marie. Guests in the room next to me- Room 417 - were fighting and screaming at each other. They were heard to say, "Ill kill you, I'll shoot you, shut up shut up shut up. banging into doors breaking things . I called the main desk to address the situation. It took them close to 45 minutes to come up and they did not kick them out or otherwise handle the situation, so that the other guests in the hotel were safe. Hotels are requried by law to provide a safe environment. Hotel St Marie does not abide by this premise. Don't stay here. Its not safe and they dont care. Mental Health counselor in Denver

Yelp
UNSAFE hotel. Don't stay here with kids! During my stay here, we were subjected to some very unruly guests. The first night they were drunk and banging on doors all night long. The hotel staff did nothing to rectify the situation. The second night got really bad. The men got into a huge fight, slamming into walls. You could hear things breaking. They started screaming and one man threatened to shoot the other repeatedly. We could hear it all through all walls. We called the front desk and they were very slow to respond. They didn't call the police, or kick them out. They simply ask them to "quiet down". It began again at 3 AM. This time the fight spilled out into the hallway on at our door. None of us slept. We went down and talked to the front desk in the morning. They said that the would have the "manager" call me, which they never did. This is a low class, seedy and dangerous hotel that fails to provide basic safety to their guests and doesn't do their due diligence in controlling the unruly ones.

Cynthia K.

Yelp
Hotel stay and staff were excellent. Pool was refreshing. Drinks very potent. Easy walking distance to eatery's and shops.

Yelp
We absolutely love this place! It was our first time ever in NOLA.. and so glad we picked this hotel The rooms were very clean and well-kept. The staff was absolutely amazing and you can't beat the little café downstairs in the lobby. I have not one complaint! location phenomenal!!

Yelp
Really great hotel as far as the price, amenities, location and staff. The only thing that could really use improvement is the pillows. They are not side sleeper friendly. Too thick.

Yelp
Quite disappointed. I spent nearly 400$ on of the best rooms offered by this establishment and let me start off by saying, it wasn't worth it in any sense. You are better off with your money going to a nicer place spending more on a smaller room. First of all, the room was advertised quite poorly online showing only 2-3 poorly captured photos of only half the room. I had to do my own research to see what the whole room looked like. Then on top of that the pictures it actually showed, it had a balcony. However, when we showed up it was the ground floor. Not the end of the world but still doesn't get you jumping up and down with joy to have your room share a door with a pool in the courtyard. Along with the wifi never working? I feel like with a 400$ room I would at least get decent wifi while I am in the room but even the service was horrible in the room! The only way I could communicate with anyone or anything on my phone was OUTSIDE of my room. In what way does that make my room enjoyable, if the only place I can practically do anything on my phone isn't even IN the room? The valet service... When we arrived there I was only sort of worried about the valet because well, I at least didn't have to park on the street. However, they charge you 40$ for parking. Then, when we arrived there the valet took my keys and our bags to our room once we checked in, so I tipped him like anyone would. But minutes later I get a call saying he can't drive my car because it is a stick? So I basically valet my own car, into a rinky-dink parking garage and get yelled at because I "wasn't close enough to the wall"? I get that it is normal not many people know manual cars, but it is quite literally your job to drive cars and park them, you should know how to drive a manual, it is the bare minimum. And to top the whole valet service off, I was called "buddy" and "lil bro" the entire interaction as if I was a little kindergartner. From an establishment that portrays itself at such a high value charging this much for a room and requiring valet for parking and seeming like such a sought after experience, this is just disappointing. I do NOT recommend this place and would steer more towards better quality hotels.

Yelp
This was my first time in New Orleans so I didn't know what to expect besides drinking all day. Hotel is only 1 block off Bourbon Street which was perfect for us. Our 2nd floor room had a balcony overlooking the corner off Dauphine and Toulouse which we quickly learned is a driving thoroughfare getting through the quarter. Within the first 15 minutes of being in the room we experienced a group of Harley riders (loudest I've ever heard) and a drunk women cussing in the street. Awesome!! This may turn some off being so close to the action but Bourbon Street is supposed to be loud and lively so if a quiet restful trip is your purpose then a hotel a block off Bourbon Street or New Orleans with a balcony street view just isn't that place to stay. For us, perfect. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Hotel was a perfect location for all the exploring we did through the French quarter for 3 days. Loved the balcony which was great for morning coffee, enjoying beignets at night, or having a drink.

Yelp
I woke up this morning for my business meeting only to realize there is no iron or ironing board in the rooms. I called down to the front desk and they couldn't locate one. I had to go get it myself and that took forever. I almost missed my meeting. Also There is no gym. No coffee in the lobby in the early morning, no irons, no ironing boards (maybe I mentioned that lol) The staff is friendly and the room is clean. Nice comfy pillows.

Shelli K.

Yelp
Oh my gosh this Hotel was GREAT!!! We are a family of 4 & first time to New Orleans. Perfectly located to be in the mix but not hear music all night, as well as walk to restaurants and local sightseeing! "Lonnie" who was the hotel bell hop & anything we needed was AWESOME!! . The keep your car in a private & safe garage on the property. Hotel was soo clean & room on the balcony was perfect!! Only place to stay.

Yelp
Awesome staff while checking in, the hotel bar/restaurant is amazing. The bartenders are on point from martini's to old fashions they have you covered. Potato salad is stellar.
google avatar

Anne T.

Yelp
Pretty pleased with this hotel. Location was perfect. Had the city view balcony which faced Toulouse. Just close enough to bourbon but enough distance away so we could get sleep at night. Room was very clean. Lobby was clean. Bellhop was amazing. Front desk morning shift wasn't that friendly and I felt like I was bothering them when I had some questions. The coffee shop downstairs was perfect for a morning breakfast before hitting the town to explore. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Don't often get the opportunity to stay at a French Quarter hotel, but glad I chose the St Marie when the opportunity presented itself this week. Getting a room for under $100 made me a little nervous, but what I discovered was a great deal on a very nice room. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, renovated bathroom with a great shower, balcony overlooking the patio, pool and quarter rooftops. TV and internet that worked just fine. Friendly service. Reasonably priced valet parking, Not a 5-star hotel, but you'll sleep well knowing that you got a good deal on quality room in the perfect location!

Yelp
After reading some of the reviews I will honestly say most people were incredibly harsh with the poor ones. This hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and you will be located in a very walkable area. I chose the street facing room which the balcony was wonderful. My only complaint is you will deal with street noise and the garbage trucks that sound like transformers battling in the wee hours of the morning. I did use ear plugs but the sound echoes between the buildings so If you are a light sleeper be prepared. The staff was accommodating they stored my luggage since I arrived early and were still able to offer me early check in which I was pleasantly surprised. I had room 215 which is the corner and biggest balcony. It was an ADA room so the shower was roll in.

Samantha G.

Yelp
If I could give no stars- I would. Planning a last minute trip we decided to book this hotel right in the french quarter because of the great reviews. We got into the hotel checked in and started to explore- about 4 hours later we get a call about someone in the family, very young and unexpected, passing away. I was distraught and so overwhelmed. Jet Blue- amazing, even going against their policy gave us a refund and sent a card with their condolences. Now- at the time the woman at the front desk of St. Marie spoke to her manager who told her "oh my- yes we will take care of that refund as soon as we can get the info from expedia." It has now been almost a full month- they have fought us through expedia refusing a refund and saying they "never said that" It is completely unprofessional and irresponsible. Money isn't everything - my sister owns a 5 star travel agency and you will be sure as heck that she and her team have St Marie on the do not book list.

Yelp
This boutique hotel is well appointed and perfectly situated in the French Quarter on Toulouse st. Everything you want to see is a short walking distance. There is a small coffee and sandwich shop attached but we opted for Cafe Du Monde and muffulettas from a nearby grocery store. There is a cool pool and courtyard and our room had a balcony and street view. The spacious room was excellent with everything you need traveling. Unlike many other places this hotel seemed updated, clean and well maintained. Be ready for a bit expensive valet parking but we'll worth it as you can come and go. Our balcony and room were larger probably due to our having to opt for two queen beds. The staff were very friendly, prompt and helpful. Covid restrictions required masks indoors in public places and a show of your vaccination card which was a first for us.

Yelp
My wife and child stayed at this hotel for almost an entire week. We booked through a travel site and had zero issues checking in to the hotel when we arrived (a little after midnight). Our room was ready for us upon arrival so that all we had to do is get our keys and go to bed. This is a great hotel to stay at if you want to be close to the action on Bourbon street, but want peace and quiet from the noise (seriously, this place is less than a few hundred feet from Bourbon street but far enough that at night, you hear nothing). On site, there's a bar, restaurant and coffee shop. If you're not one to want to walk long distances for basic cocktails, beers, coffee options or food stuffs, this place is great. The staff here are all great. My daughter left her baby blanket in our room, which we didn't notice until we had already checked out for a few hours. We returned to ask about the blanket and the staff produced it within a few minutes. They answered any/all questions we had about the city, attractions, etc. The rooms aren't spacious, but I'd say they were more than adequate for what we paid per night. Overall, I'd definitely stay here if traveling to New Orleans again.

Yelp
I'm a little heartbroken with this review. The Hotel location was great. literally steps from Bourbon. And the kind lady that helped us check in was really nice. The lady that replaced her that evening was not though. Just very curt in her speech, not helpful at all especially when we asked about having maintenance come to our room to check our safe. It hadn't been working since we checked in and we called the front desk several times regarding this but when they hadn't come up we just decided to carry our valuables along with us. Another thing that bothered me was I ordered some food to be delivered to the hotel and made my way down to the lobby to wait for it to come. Two gentlemen that worked there spoke about how some women outside were dressed like ho's, and should something happen to them it would be their fault for dressing like that. They used curse words freely throughout their conversation with each other. I just found this conversation completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and flat out disrespectful especially being spoken while guests were in their presence. Such a shame that these employees feel they're in a workplace that would tolerate this kind of speech. Again, I wanted to love the hotel- location, the balconies, the design, the decor- all those things were great. It's just such a disappointment how a few employees could bring all those things down.

Yelp
Stayed here from Wednesday till Monday..it was the perfect place to stay. Located right on the French quarter where all the action is...restaurants, bars, clubs, souvenir shops and close to the Mississippi River where we took our river boat dinner cruise. There were two people that we particularly enjoyed from the hotel. Lonniethe Bellhop and Dorian the front desk attendant. They were the only ones that made our stay there a pleasant one..they were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is over 100 years old, yet it looks fresh and clean...its so cute ...the rooms are very nice and comfortable also clean.

Yelp
Our stay here earlier this month was awesome! I brought my mom to New Orleans for her 60th birthday. After reading the reviews for several hotels, I always came back to this one & I'm glad I did! The customer service was great! The hotel provided a complimentary bottle of champagne for my mom.The location is great & close to Bourbon St. The room was very nice, spacious, & clean. The bed & pillows were very comfortable as well. My mom didn't want to leave! Everyone we came in contact with was very nice & pleasant. We will definitely be back & I will choose a room with a balcony next time! Thank you, Lonnie, Brandon, Tanya, Ida, Eileen, Jerome, Link & everyone else we came in contact with for the amazing customer service!

Yelp
Lovely hotel right in the middle of the French Quarter. We've stayed here twice now at different times of the year. First time we had a courtyard-facing balcony room, second time we had a street-facing balcony room. The former was much quieter (no surprise) but street-side allowed for amusing people-watching and wasn't much noisier than our big city, middle of it all, home. Staff is friendly and helpful, and other guests always seemed happy too. Our previous years' visits to NOLA were spent at the Ritz and other high end chains, and one does tend to get what you pay for. However, we find that Hotel St Marie's lower-key vibe and its location really suits us just fine. Plus, the building itself has some cool history too.

Yelp
My friends and I stayed here during the NBA All-Stars weekend, and for the most part, it was acceptable. Pros? The rooms are spacious, the beds were SUPER comfortable, and the location absolutely can't be beat. And despite being less a block from Bourbon, it was peaceful enough to sleep at reasonable hours, at least in our room on the 5th floor. Unfortunately, for each pro, there is a glaring con. The glaringest of them all were the WINDOW SHUTTERS they use for BATHROOM "DOORS." To make matters worse, the shutter door didn't even have a latch so there was no way to lock or even securely CLOSE the damn thing. No privacy whatsoever! Another bathroom-related con is that housekeeping didn't once replace our shampoos and soaps during our 3-night stay. Housekeeping would also show up very early (~9:30am). On our last day (thankfully), we caught sight of one of the biggest cockroaches I've seen in life. This monster crawled out from behind the dresser and up on the wall. My friend trapped it using an ice bucket, then we asked maintenance to get rid of it, which they took care of promptly. I don't know that I'd go so far as to say that the cons outweighed the pros, but let's just say there are enough of the cons that I would think twice about booking in the future.

Yelp
Close to everything in the Quarter. Had a cozy room on the top floor. Decor was charming. In house restaurant good. Quaint courtyard with pool. Only drawback was the only ice machine was on the first floor.

Yelp
We are going to spend our 26th anniversary and my wife's birthday at this hotel. My brother and sister in law will also be vacationing with us. I hope we have a great experience, will be there in July and will update review.

Yelp
Great location, great price. This place is only a block from Bourbon St and allowed us to walk to all of the French Quarter attractions with ease. Close enough to be a part of the party without being in the middle of it. The garbage trucks down this street are EXTREMELY loud. If you're a light sleeper beware, though if you're a light sleeper, don't stay near Bourbon St. There is a nice little coffee shop attaches to the hotel, a quaint courtyard and a little swimming pool...though it was too cold for us to use this trip. The rooms were clean, there was a small fridge to keep some drinks handy and the front desk staff was very pleasant and accommodating. There was not an iron in the room... our only complaint. Though I'm sure we could have asked for one. Great stay and highly recommend.

Yelp
E we spent two nights in a balcony Street view room and loved it. Brandon at the front desk is very helpful. The guy who parked our car and transferred luggage was great with helpful tips for the city. The room was very pretty, the balcony was awesome. Very cool views and it was warm enough to leave the door open for a while. The room did not have a fridge, which we missed, but the location in the French quarter and the awesome balcony made up for it. Valet parking is your only option at $47 a day, but we felt the car was very safe and closely watched. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

Yelp
Called to cancel my reservation due to car trouble and the clerk seemed very confused and new at her job but said my reservation was indeed canceled yet I still got charged full price for a room I never stayed in. When I called again to fix the matter a different employee answered and was completely rude, would not listen to my issue, raising her voice, and interrupting me constantly and said their employees "don't make mistakes". In my opinion any human can make a mistake. When I asked to speak to the manager she told me "NO!". So I now had to dispute the charges with my bank. Only stay here if you know with out any doubt nothing will interfere or you will be robbed.

Yelp
I am giving this hotel a 5 Star because of its location, friendly Staff and cleanliness. From the day we arrived until the day we left the staff was very accommodating. The hotel is located a few blocks from Bourbon Street and restaurants. They offer Valette parking at a reasonable price, which is a plus if you are visiting the French quarters. The room was very clean and modern. The next we visit we will try to get a room with balcony access.

Yelp
LOVED LOVED LOVED staying here. The rooms were quaint and charming. Hotel management and staff bent over backwards for us. One day I was in the pool and I was hungover and I must have looked like death , the manager saw me ..... didn't even say anything , just brought me a small plate of cookies!!!! When I tell you that it warmed my heart and greatly lifted my spirits , it's an understatement . Thanks for everything, can't wait to come back!!
