Booked a double room including breakfast for 1 night.||||Arrived by train and it is a straightforward flat walk to the hotel, and 2 steps up to the hotel.||We were pleasantly greeted, given a map and information including recommendations for dinner.||||There is a lift serving 2 floors. We noticed there is a stairway to the 3rd floor.||||We were allocated Room 206, a spacious room nicely decorated. As well as our bed, there was a sofa and 2 easy chairs and table and desk. The windows are openable and overlook the main street. There is a TV and a safe and enough hanging space. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Wifi is free and fast.||The ensuite, although smallish, is well appointed. It has an openable window. The shower cubicle has a small step down. Soap and shower gel/shampoo is in small bottles, which we appreciate instead of the tough squeezy bottles mounted on the wall in most German Hotels. There is a drying rack as well.||||Breakfast is served in a pretty room off reception. There is cereal, yoguts, fresh fruit amd compote of fruit, rolls and bread. Cheeses and meats in a sneeze proof refrigerated container that a lot of hotels have.Hot food are boiled eggs, scrambled and bacon. Salad items as well. Smoked salmon and accompaniements. Sparkling wine too. All food was good quality.||||All staff we encountered:( cleaning, reception, breakfast staff )engaged with us, were friendly and helpful.|| The hotel is well located, being about 5 minutes flat easy walk from the train and bus station and about 5-10 minutes to the main square. There are plenty of eateries in the vicinity and bars as well.||||This hotel is family run, set in an old house and it is in keeping with older times. The info in our room says it is 280 years old and is now in 4th generation family and has been with the family since 1919. Impressive, I think! The public areas are lovely. There is a nice sitting area and the breakfast room was lovely. ||||This is a reallly good hotel with everything we needed and we recommend staying here, if like us you enjoy smaller, family run places.
