Spacious room, amazing views of the river & castles, great rooftop bar with even grander views & the best shower in Europe! It was actually had a proper door! Excellent location - walk to everything. Wonderful staff. Fab mid-mod design. Wish it wasn't over 5k miles away so I could visit more often.

Spent two nights at Hotel Stein with a room overlooking the city center (a spectacular view of the river and the fortress from our window). The bathroom was well-appointed with all toiletries and a hair dryer. GREAT shower. Super comfortable mattress and bedding. Free water and juices in the mini-fridge. No coffee maker or tea kettle in the room, but there was hot tea in the lobby. The lobby is very chic with stunning blown glass chandeliers. We also enjoyed cocktails at the rooftop bar - friendly and attentive service. The hotel is along a busy street and we could hear vehicles and people when the windows were open, but earplugs were provided and we slept great.

Spent two wonderful nights at Hotel Stein with my wife and son (booked 2 rooms) in great rooms with a spectacular view of the city across the river. Ahmed made the check in and overall experience even better....the rooms were large with excellent bath/shower and we had no issues with noise (city views mean rooms on front of building over the street) given the double-paned European windows. The city-view deck and bar were outstanding, and we also enjoyed dinner at the restaurant (if you book with Amex Platinum, get a nice $100 credit per room - so we had $200). Would absolutely come back without hesitation.

We were a large group of friends traveling together and they accommodated us perfectly. They had our parking available, put our rooms together and helped us get situated. First impressions are the most important and Ahmed nailed it. Such a kind gentleman that took care of all of us and made this such an amazing experience. This hotel has a rooftop bar that catered to us like VIP. Tony works up there and was also such a highlight of our trip. He made us feel so special and really made us feel welcome. Thank you for making our trip so memorable.

Very nice place to stay. We had a river view room - the room was spacious and very quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful, and when my wife put her back out, they arranged a great massage on Boxing Day! We really liked the place - cosmopolitan, friendly, clean and well maintained, spacious, with great food (and the included breakfast was seriously very good).

This is Hotel is a great stay especially if you want to be in the heart of Salzburg. Great location! The Hotel is pleasant and I would reccomend. If you have booked room only, dont upgrade for breakfast when you check-in it's not worth it. There is a great pastry shop just across the bridge starting from €2.49. The hotel made some small mistakes. The hotel is noisy and ear plugs are provided, however the maid put my used ones in the bin and didn't provide me with a fresh set. On the 2nd day our used towels were taken but not replaced. We asked to sit at a specific table at breakfast and was denied because it was set for 4 not 2. Then a couple were seated there. That made me feel quite defalted. Overall a great stay.

We had a lovely stay here. The room was lovely, with air-con and beautiful view over the old town. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We didn’t get breakfast at the hotel though, as it was expensive and there are plenty of breakfast options in very close proximity to the hotel for much less. The location is perfect, putting you in walking distance to all the important features in Salzburg city centre. I would recommend.

I’m so glad I chose Hotel Stein for my stay in Salzburg! I booked a Junior Suite with a river view, and everything was perfect. Check-in was super quick (less than 2 minutes), the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was spotless, quiet, and really comfortable. The location is ideal, just a short walk to Old Town, with lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby. A special shoutout to the Moroccan staff member (wish I got his name!) who went above and beyond to bring me a replacement TV when YouTube didn’t work. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Salzburg!

Yelp
Great rooms, comfy beds and friendly staff! The location is perfect for exploring Salzburg as it is walking distance to just about all the major attractions. The views from our room facing the river and overlook the old city was amazing at night! Loved that the windows opened all the way to let fresh air in. With a proper name like Stein, only thing missing was a welcome bier upon check-in ;-)

Yelp
No quiet rooms can be had. Front rooms are on top of street and bridge, rear rooms face an alley and police seem to allow street parties in the alley even up to 4AM. Great location though, if sleep is not important.

Yelp
The location of Hotel Stein is excellent. Corner of the Staatsbrucke Bridge and Linzergasse. Either direction will take you to all the attractions/restaurants/shopping in Salzburg (all easy walking distance). Check in was easy and staff noticeably nice. While checking in a nice young man was waiting to take our bags and had hot hand towels for us! We had a jr. suite with fortress/river view. To me the room is best described as modern rather than luxury. The room was pleasant, clean and large with a big window to enjoy the views. Large bathroom too. Walk in shower was great with a rain shower and excellent water pressure. Large sink and ample countertop space. Room had everything you need; wifi, nespresso machine, coffee and teas, a safe, good size closet, robes, slippers, umbrella in closet, nice toiletries etc. The mini fridge had 2 waters and 2 juices that was replenished and complimentary daily. Air conditioning was a wall mounted room unit that worked just fine. Housekeeping visited our room daily and was excellent. There is a rooftop restaurant and bar called Seven Senses that looked lovely but the day we planned on going it was closed. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I did wish they had a place downstairs like a snack bar type place but there are supermarkets in the area to get everything you need (and plenty of restaurants!) Every time we walked in and out of the hotel the staff acknowledged us. There was always complimentary bottled water available by reception. Hotel common areas were immaculate. Taxi from hotel to train station was €8.10. I would definitely stay here again.
