The hotel sits right across from the old town with views of the fortress. Breakfast was excellent. We used public transportation for our travels and the hotel was close to the bus stop , Mirabelle Gardens, and everything was within walking distance. Air conditioning was appreciated and can be hard to find in some hotels. This was a quiet sport with easy access to everything in Salzburg.

We had an incredibly nice stay here. We were well received by the staff and they were very helpful. The street in front of the hotel was closed, but the receptionist was nice and talked to the police so that we could get past the roadblock and drive to the parking lot. The room was nice and clean, the interior exclusive and modern. The hotel breakfast may be a little more expensive than usual - but it's really good! We had a great time!

Absolutely wonderful hotel with a great location to see the castle and walk downtown. The staff were extremely knowledgeable, professional and very helpful in making reservations and recommendations. The room was breathtaking with a beautiful view of the castle and river. Made our trip to Salzburg worth it and so much more! Can’t wait to come back again!

This is a very good hotel with superb staff that make you feel at home. The rooms are very comfortable and spotless. Our suite on the 3rd was very spacious and had an excellent shower. It was peacefully quiet too. The added benefit of the rooftop terrace with wonderful views made our stay extra special. The terrace is busy at the weekends. There is also an excellent cafe on the ground floor. The location is perfect for the grossesfestpielhause, the old town and the bus stops for hellbrun. Close by are some iconic cafes and restaurants. Loved it. I would make this my first choice for my next visit to Salzburg.

Beautiful views, friendly staff, clean rooms, and great breakfast. My wife and I enjoyed 3 nights at Hotel Stein and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Salzburg. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to non-german speakers. Make sure to grab a bite or drink at the rooftop for one of the best views of the city! 5 stars!

Stylish Stay with Stunning Views Hotel Stein is a fantastic choice in the heart of Salzburg. The location is perfect — close to excellent cafés, restaurants, and all the main attractions. The rooms are modern, clean, and very comfortable, blending style with functionality. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The rooftop terrace is a real standout, offering breathtaking views over the city. A perfect mix of comfort, convenience, and charm. Highly recommended!

The room was spacious and beautiful BUT more importantly, the customer service was exceptional. Christoff and Ahmed treated us like "royalty" by making us feel so very welcomed. Whether it was suggestions for dinner, suggestions of sights not to miss, or just easy walking directions...we felt very cared for. We would definitely stay here again!!

Our experience at Hotel Stein was absolutely amazing. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered a stunning view of the river. Special thanks to Alexander at reception—he was incredibly professional, friendly, and made us feel truly welcome. We were so impressed, we decided to extend our stay by an extra night! The rooftop bar is a true highlight—not only does it offer breathtaking views, but it’s also popular with guests from other hotels, which says a lot about its vibe and quality. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Stein to anyone visiting Salzburg. We can’t wait to come back!

Yelp
Great rooms, comfy beds and friendly staff! The location is perfect for exploring Salzburg as it is walking distance to just about all the major attractions. The views from our room facing the river and overlook the old city was amazing at night! Loved that the windows opened all the way to let fresh air in. With a proper name like Stein, only thing missing was a welcome bier upon check-in ;-)

Yelp
No quiet rooms can be had. Front rooms are on top of street and bridge, rear rooms face an alley and police seem to allow street parties in the alley even up to 4AM. Great location though, if sleep is not important.

Yelp
The location of Hotel Stein is excellent. Corner of the Staatsbrucke Bridge and Linzergasse. Either direction will take you to all the attractions/restaurants/shopping in Salzburg (all easy walking distance). Check in was easy and staff noticeably nice. While checking in a nice young man was waiting to take our bags and had hot hand towels for us! We had a jr. suite with fortress/river view. To me the room is best described as modern rather than luxury. The room was pleasant, clean and large with a big window to enjoy the views. Large bathroom too. Walk in shower was great with a rain shower and excellent water pressure. Large sink and ample countertop space. Room had everything you need; wifi, nespresso machine, coffee and teas, a safe, good size closet, robes, slippers, umbrella in closet, nice toiletries etc. The mini fridge had 2 waters and 2 juices that was replenished and complimentary daily. Air conditioning was a wall mounted room unit that worked just fine. Housekeeping visited our room daily and was excellent. There is a rooftop restaurant and bar called Seven Senses that looked lovely but the day we planned on going it was closed. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I did wish they had a place downstairs like a snack bar type place but there are supermarkets in the area to get everything you need (and plenty of restaurants!) Every time we walked in and out of the hotel the staff acknowledged us. There was always complimentary bottled water available by reception. Hotel common areas were immaculate. Taxi from hotel to train station was €8.10. I would definitely stay here again.
