Hotel Stern am Rathaus

Cannot speak highly enough of this small, but perfectly formed, hotel. So convenient for the historic sights of Cologne.||Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Francisco with coffee and cookies. Nothing was too much trouble.||The breakfasts are superb.||Andi and Kai also deserve special mention. So charming and customer focused.||Very clean, well appointed hotel. The staff are its jewel however.

The hotel and the staff were fabulous. The room was big enough for one traveler. I never saw such a big shower in Europe. The breakfast was delicious. The day of my departure breakfast did not start until 7:30 but they said I could start a little earlier to eat.

We recently made a brief visit to Cologne, Germany, and stayed at this charming boutique hotel for one night with my partner and son. It’s a small, quaint property located right in the heart of the city, approximately 300 metres from the cathedral.||The hotel is run by genuinely kind and attentive people who clearly take pride in what they do. Their attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent service created a welcoming and refreshing atmosphere — a rare and much-appreciated experience.||A special mention must go to the breakfast, which was exceptional. The coffee was great, and there was an impressive variety of options, including many homemade items.||Thank you for a wonderful stay — I would happily recommend this hotel to family and friends.||Thank you!

I enjoyed an excellent two nights at this superbly located hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was great. I will definitely stay here again when next visiting Koln.

Only stayed for one night, but hotel is in a great location. Rooms are clean with comfy bed and AC, staff were amazing. Breakfast buffet had a good variety also. Would recommend it you are staying in Cologne.

We stayed in the larger apartment unit offered since there were several of us traveling, and the accommodations were excellent! Close enough to everything to be convenient to get around, but off the path enough to feel like you're in a secluded part of the city. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Cologne!

Andy was so helpful, kind, and energetic. For late check in they provided a map with directions and PHOTOS, a goddsend at 1am after a day of traveling. ||The rooms were very clean, AC strong, water hot, and very thoughtful outlet placements. Would 100% stay again and recommend.

The hotel is located in a very convenient part of Cologne close to the main station, cathedral, Ludwig Museum & a great bar/restaurant called Puls. The hotel itself is appalling - no reception after 6pm, no elevator (multi level accessed by tiled stairway, dangerous), noisy (airconditioning repairs the first 2 mornings of our stay on the rooftop directly outside our window... no forewarning!!), no blockout blinds/curtains, towels small, thin & non drying (over heavy with the fabric softener??), mattress that reverberated with each others night time movement. The only upside was that it was very clean. I have never requested a refund before because of sub standard accommodation but this hotel was so inappropriately represented I did request one, that was dismissed (prepaid). Needless to say we moved elsewhere so as not to ruin the remainder of our time in Cologne.
