A story yes, but a ghost one: There is noone here, no services, no reception, no cleaning. The only living creature we saw was a little cockroach, equally lost in that empty space. Make sure you do have the door code when arriving as nobody will be here to welcome you. They have comfy beds yes but that's about it. No breakfast is served anymore (even though our booking included it), no parking either (or with limited space, at a cost, and 10 minutes away), no one to talk to apart from the ghost manager on WhatsApp. It is like an expensive airbnb, but in a busy street with loud music filling the emptiness until late at night. Competition is harsh, but is it really what we want? That is a whole story...

Although apparently a 4* hotel, it very much feels only half of those stars are warranted. I followed every instruction given through Booking.com perfectly, contacting them a couple of weeks prior to arrival to reserve parking and providing an arrival time as well. However, they failed to mention that Hotel Bistrik, where the parking garage is located, is also unstaffed after 10pm and therefore, we could not get access to park the car. The WhatsApp support for Hotel Story also stops at 10pm promptly, even if they read your messages, they will not respond. We had been told the garage key is at "reception", assuming Hotel Story where we were staying, but turned out to be reception of Hotel Bistrik where the door code didn't work and was also unstaffed. Very unclear on this. So we were stuck in a new city and had to pay 40 marks to Hotel Europe next door to park overnight. |We had young children with us and were allocated Red Apartment. It's quite a walk through the hotel and up 2 flights of, as they're called in the UK, "death stairs". No handrails, open sided, narrow, bendy steps. The air conditioning in the room didn't work. The remote control had been locked but I googled and managed to unlock it, only to find the unit itself also didn't work. The carpet was very tired. The beds were large but not really hotel standard for comfort. On the third day (a Tuesday), I tried to shower around 9am and the hot water had already finished. Also, on the first night, a Saturday, the music from the surrounding bars was extremely loud until after 1am, so just take note of that if you have children. |The good points are the room size (quite large), terrace (although covered in pigeon poop and feathers), clean and modern bathroom, and convenient location. |The last point I'd like to mention is that we paid for the breakfast - €5 per person per day - and were told on the first morning that the kitchen is closed for refurbishment and no food is offered. They suggested some places nearby, however, we were not refunded for this and shouldn't they have flagged this to booking.com when we booked as I'm sure they did not just suddenly decided to refurbish the day we came? Anyway, I'm taking that point up with Booking.com, but I do feel the hotel should've been proactive on this front, too. |Loved Sarajevo, but wouldn't choose this hotel again unless there were some major improvements and updates.

We were honestly quite surprised to encounter such a high ranking, considering the actual state of the hotel room. Multiple towels were dirty, both the faucet and shower head were faulty (very very little pressure) and open products from someone prior were left in the fridge and not cleaned up. Nevertheless, the room had lots of space and the beds were clean. Something useful to know: Every day from 1am until 5/6am, the room had no water whatsoever (due to the water shortage problem in the city) which we weren‘t informed about and left especially nightly toilet visits quite surprising.

Booked on booking.com Upon arrival they said no rooms are available. Disastrous

Hotel in a very central location next to the pedestrian street, minutes away from some of the main museums and only 5 minutes away from a tourism office that can arrange guided tours of Sarajevo. Good breakfast and very helpfull staff. They made arrangements for the early morning transfer to the airport and when my flight was cancelled they even helped me booking an other hotel as they were already fully booked for the night. Rooms though may require some additional maintenance ( paint and also some loose parts ) To end on a positive note - great value for money.

I put the star ONLY for the location in the city center with all those cafes nearby (though it’s not great if you travel with kids, because they party all night long), but unfortunately everything else was awful - no parking, the hotel looked old and in bad condition, the room we stayed in was terribly dirty! We stayed only for one night, but it was enough for me. I was surprised by a very early check out (before 10:30), it’s so inconvenient.

Great hotel, reasonably priced. Conveniently located in the centre of Sarajevo. Staff are friendly and attentive. Downside: the walls are fairly thin, so you may hear noise from other guests. Also, the fridge in the room could get quite noisy at night. The hotel has been recently refurbished but there are a few snags that have been overlooked. There was only one accessible socket, which was fairly inconvenient if there's more than one guest. Other than that, it was good for what it was. Decent price and convenient location.

I had the opportunity to take a weekend trip to Sarajevo, and the city was very busy. I booked one of the last available rooms at this boutique hotel, Hotel Story, and I'm glad that I did. My room was on the top floor, and was beautiful. Everything was modern, impeccably clean and incredibly spacious.||A special thanks to my front desk professional, Gufran, who provided me with great tips about the area, as well as showing me the various rooms within the hotel such as the breakfast seating spaces.||The breakfast itself was delicious; my compliments to the kitchen!||All in all, this was a superior stay. I look forward to returning, and soon!
