The hotel is very well situated, the rooms are very clean and nicely furnished. As in most hotels, the single room is relatively small, but it had a view over the lake which was nice. The breakfast is good and rich. It offers a good variety of meat, cheese, fish and a variety of eggs. I also appreciate their hygiene concept during the corona crisis (only one person at a time at the breakfast buffet).||||The only odd thing was, that there was no one in the hotel apart from the chambermaid upn my arrival in the early afternoon, so I was greeted over the interphone and received instructions on how to open the key cabinet, which contained the key to my room. Only 15 minutes later I received a call and was asked to come downstairs, to fill in my registration.

We had a double bed room overlooking the Bodensee. It was a bit small, but had all the necessities. There is no wifi services. The first night was a bit loud due to the bar downstairs, but the view compensated for the noise. There is no elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs. The host was friendly and served a delicious breakfast (included in the price) every morning. Our table was reserved with our name so we didn't have to worry about finding a seat! The location of this hotel is perfect as there is alot to do within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again. In addition, Meersburg is a charming town that we fell in love with!

This hotel is situated on Lake Konstanz. It has a absolutely gorgeous setting and the hotel is beautiful in every way, the setting, the attention to detail of the staff and the food. Our room had a balcony with a view over the lake which was just stunning. Meersburg is a lovely and very interesting town with so many restaurants and bars and a few days spent here is well worth the time. This is our second visit to Meersburg and we will definitely be back. We are in love with the Hotel Strand Café with its beautiful and spacious rooms, fantastic breakfasts and other meals, all with the stunning view of the lake.

Hotel Strand-Cafe is located directly on the waterfront promenade -- the rooms on the front of the hotel have wonderful views over the lake to the mountains on the other side. Our room on the second floor was small but comfortable, with two windows looking out at the lake. Furnishings were a nice mixture of antique (wardrobe) and modern (flat-screen TV). The room was quiet, although we heard some noise from the ferry boats in the morning, which for us added to the ambience of being lakeside (I can imagine others complaining about this). Free parking provided by the hotel at the end of town (the town is mostly a pedestrian zone). This hotel is close to everything in Meersburg - the upper town, the boat docks, numerous restaurants and cafes and shops. The owner was friendly and helpful. We only ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant, but they are open for lunch and dinner, and the menu was much the same as the other area restaurants (local fish, German dishes). The breakfast (included in the room price) had all of the typical items (meats, cheeses, rolls, cereal, fruit, soft-boiled eggs) in a pretty spread. Liked best - location, breakfast, view from room. Liked least - to make a reservation from the USA we had to wire the money, which is an extra expense. The hotel would not hold the room with a credit card.

I have stayed here each year for the past 7 years during a trade show. The rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable. One of the best parts is the breakfast which has a lot of different options packed into the small dining room. Great to sit outside if the weather is nice. The BEST part is the hostess Gisela who each year has made sure we are well taken care of - competent service! I come for work but want to get back for a vacation to enjoy Hotel Strand Café. Thank you Gisela for your help each year to make it a wonderful stay. Steve

Stayed here 4 nights with my husband, Meersburg is great, but the last time I stayed was in an apartment and a long way from the main town. Didn’t make that mistake this time, and we couldn’t have asked for any better accommodate. We had the balcony room (one of two) and the bedroom and lounge are one big room with a wooden waist high partition. There is a couch in the lounge with a wood fire heater (which wasn’t used) and a one seater couch. The bedroom has a comfortable bed with a wardrobe and shelving next to the bed and another 1 seater couch. It is tiled and has a massive rug in the lounge area. It has a separate large toilet with bidet and another separate room as the bathroom with a basin and shower. It is an extremely large area and fabulous. There is a great ceiling of woodwork and outside, the balcony is nicely furnished. The balcony is large and has two double doors opening to it and a further door/window opening to the balcony. The place has pretty curtains and drapes and is very elegant. It has a tv and a fridge, but no coffee/tea making facilities.||The place has 3 levels and a restaurant as well. We ate in the restaurant and it’s great, breakfast which we had included ie full breakfast, has breads, cereals, cheeses, eggs, meats etc. It is typical of European breakfasts however it is fresh and the eating area is very German, and very pretty. There are small touches such as the allocated tables at breakfast with your name on it. We found this warm and inviting. Coffee/ Tea are refillable. ||If there had to be a downfall, there is no wifi – I had a dongle but I know this is important to some people. I am satisfied with my balcony and the 11 power outlets (and 2 in use, total of 13).||This place is a credit to the Gisela who runs the place with two female helpers (there may be more), to run a business and a restaurant is a great feat, and this is done so with special touch. We loved our stay here, another special little place. Thanks Hotel Strand Cafe!

It was my first visit to Boden See and I was charmed with it and for sure with Meersburg – It worth to be visited!! I suppose, that if you decided to visit this city you should live only on see promenade – it’s the best chance to feel the city and I can say that this hotel is the very good choice – excellent location, nice building, accurate rooms, good breakfast and very nice staff. And for sure it’s a good idea to take a room with sea view – it’s something amazing, especially if you will choose a room with balcony. There is no room service or even mini bar (it was empty) and very limited international TV and there is no Wi-Fi, but in spite of this it was a very good stay and I can truly recommend this hotel to stay.

#Stayed here with a small group of friends in September - my third trip. The family are very helpful and the hotel is charming. Right on the lakeside, no traffic just the boats. Would recommend to anyone wanting a restful holiday. ||Diane
