We stayed here for one night and overall it was a decent experience. The hotel is in a busy part of the city, right next to a police station, so it’s definitely not the quietest spot—but that’s kind of expected for the area. The service was fine—not super warm or welcoming, but everything worked smoothly and we had no complaints. Our room was clean, and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. A few small downsides: the beds weren’t the most comfortable (wish there was a king bed available for couples), and we could hear people talking in the rooms next to us. That said, we weren’t being too picky—it was just a one-night stay and it did the job. Solid spot if you just need a place to crash for a night in the city.

Hotel Suisse is a small Parisian-style hotel in a great location just off Rue Didouche with its shops, cafes and restaurants. It it just a few minutes' walk to the Main Post Office, the Metro and the city bus station, and the Place de Martyrs and the Casbah are about 15-20 minutes 'walk away.||The rooms are basic but comfortable, and the staff are very attentive and helpful with directions, transport etc. Wi-fi is good throughout the hotel. The hotel is quiet despite being close to the busy streets.

The rooms : there are Single, Double, triple and suite (apartment) with two rooms and a living room, the suite can have 4 people. The price : from 9600 Da to 13500 , The apartment is for 12000 to 16000 depending on the number of the residents. Breakfast included, the breakfast is a small open buffet, the food is good , the Coffee not so much. The staff is great, the receptionists are nice and welcoming. There are 6 floors in the hotel and a small lift which can carry 2 people at most, the rooms are beautiful and clean , the location is amazing in the center of Algiers just near the Metro station and to the police station so it's really safe. The negative points : there is no toilet bidet (douchette) which is really inconvenient , the lift is small and it's complicated to enter and use, the lift is noisy and disturbing at night especially for the higher floors.

First of all I would like to praise all the employees we had to deal with. Very warm welcomed, and always here for us. We felt like on an Airbnb as, already after a few hours, they knew us, our rooms and habits, and were really nice and friendly. Thank you very much to all of you if you read this!||||The hotel is very well situated in the center of Algiers, in front of a police station. A small convenient store is also to be found literally at the hotel entrance door.||||We had two rooms on floors 4 and 5. ||Room were good, with AirCon and TV. Most tv channel in arabic and french. Some Channels worked good, others didn't.||||The bed were confortable.||||Big minus is the shower/bath tub which doesn't have a curtain (at least in our 2 rooms) so it is really challenging to shower without having water all around the bathroom.||The maid did a good job but didn't replace the toilet paper on 2 occasions so we had to ask for it.||||The breakfast was included in our rate. Fairly good choice, but you have to ask to refill the buffet as the lady working there don't really pay attention to that. Margarine is not cooled down and the taste was awful so we bought our own butter at the convenient store. Large choice of tea bags and arabic sweets. Bread on the other hand was not so good as obviously defrost. ||||The lift is very small and antique but charming. It doesn't stop on the 4th floor though so we had to travel to the 5th floor. It was ok.||||Free wifi was provided. It worked well but you have to connect every time you want to use it.||||All together, we had a very nice stay at the Hotel Suisse but cannot give more than 3 stars in comparaison to the other hotels i go around the world. I would go back, just for the pleasure to see the staff again.

This is an old hotel, a little down-at-heel, with much to recommend it. Reception and other staff are friendly and helpful. Some rooms have baths, and if you have any complaint with your room it is worth checking on alternatives. The breakfast has the normal choices but the quality of bread, coffee, jam, &c is rather low. Dinner is better.

Gave myself a trip to Algeria for my birthday this year. I had reserved one of their grandstanding rooms, but was disappointed to find no a/c and no room safe, so switched to a smaller room that did have a/c. Only safe is at reception. An old cage elevator, with encircling staircase. The restaurant is excellent under the capable hand of M. Akli. I. I was well satisfied to take most of my lunches and dinners there. Good variety of entrees, soups and desserts. The entire hotel staff was very helpful, although I no longer am fluent in French and know little Arabic.

Stayed for 3 nights. There are certain things which are to be expected in an Algerian hotel. The staff will only speak Arabic & French, the restaurant food is poor and everywhere smells of cigarette smoke. This hotel is also very old (1920's) and the elevator is from that period, one person at a time, and doesn't go to the top floor. There is also no shower curtain, nor safe. All this aside, the hotel has a fantastic location, easy walking distance to the metro and la Grande Poste and has an old world charm. The staff were very friendly and the free breakfast sufficient. Not cheap, but all in, a good choice for Algiers.
