For the price, service, and location - this is 5 stars from me. Judith and Leon were great and couldn't be more helpful if they tried. The room was lovely. You'll see people complaining about the heat, its summer and the staff warn everyone. Its not 5-star hotel so there's no A/C, but, there are fans in the rooms and You'll have be3n told. We were absolutely fine. Its worth paying a little extra for the breakfast, its an unlimited, help yourself buffet with a great selection of hot and cold food, juices, hot drinks, breads, eggs, fruit, yogurts, all you could need. They need to have the breakfast staff open both doors in the summer for comfort, but no biggie. Its smack next to the Metro station too and surrounded by stuff to do. We had room 309 with a beautiful view of the cathedral.

This is current information. This ifs an excellent location however there is an extraordinary amount of construction right in front of the building. You cannot even enter without walking around steal greats, and barriers. Very noisy during the day. Jack hammers at work. Decide carefully. When I went in with my wife, the receptionist had no comments. He was less than forthcoming. We asked to cancel our reservation and went elsewhere.

Overall, it is a really nice hotel! The rooms were very clean and big enough, the only problem is the lack of AC, a little difficult in the hot summer! They do provide a fan but it is still very hot, keeping the windows opened is also difficult if you need a good night of sleep. However, the view from the room was simply wonderful, the service was very friendly and the location is perfect!

Firstly the Swiss Wein by Fassbind is a very nice hotel - it is very well located, right by the exit to the lift from Bessieres Metro station - three stops from the main railway station.|We found the room to be comfortable, and the bed to be large and comfortable too. The shower was powerful and easy to operate with no variations in water temperature.|Reception staff were friendly and helpful, with very good English.|Breakfast was 20 CHF per person extra and was acceptable if not outstanding.|Almost five stars so far then, however.....|There was no air conditioning in the room, just a quiet and pretty efficient ceiling fan - but in June the nights can be hot, so it was stifling with the windows closed - but with the windows open it was impossible to sleep due to the traffic noise and rowdy behaviour from the street far below (we were on the fifth floor, go figure!) Until the early hours of the morning there was shouting, car engines revving, people leaning on their car horns, and it almost seemed like they were racing in the street - no idea what was going on, but it was every night, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.|We had to keep the windows closed all night, and consequently woke in the morning drenched in sweat.|It wasn't the hotel's fault, but you would think that in a civilised country like Switzerland there would be some police around to deal with what was certainly anti social behaviour?|We liked the hotel, but we would have to think carefully about returning for a stay in the warmer months of the year when we could not sleep with the windows closed.

I recently returned to the Swiss Wine Hotel during my 2025 trip to Switzerland, eager to reconnect with friends and explore the charming city of Lausanne and its surroundings. Once again, the hotel proved to be the perfect base for my adventures. ||||Its unbeatable location right outside Bessières Metro station made getting around a breeze, while a Coop supermarket just across the street offered convenience for any essentials. Within walking distance, I enjoyed visiting the historic Place de la Riponne and the breathtaking cathedral, all easily accessible via a scenic stroll across the Charles Bessières Bridge. ||||My room (605) was impeccably clean and furnished with a plush, comfortable bed that ensured a restful night’s sleep. The only minor drawback was the warmth, as the room was situated in the attic, which made it quite cozy. However, the air conditioning swiftly alleviated the heat, albeit quite noisy when in operation.||||Despite that small inconvenience, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. I highly recommend the Swiss Wine Hotel to anyone seeking a cozy, well-located spot in Lausanne. It’s a true gem for both leisure and exploration!

The hotel enjoys a convenient location with excellent transport links, and the surrounding scenery is truly stunning – it left a strong impression on me. However, I was disappointed to find that the hotel does not have air conditioning. During warmer days, the room felt hot and stuffy, and I had no choice but to keep the door open for ventilation. Unfortunately, this resulted in a great deal of noise from the bar downstairs and nearby traffic. Even the sound of doors opening or closing became very disruptive.||One senior member of staff was very helpful and professional, though another, seemingly less experienced staff member, would benefit from further training in customer service.||Overall, the experience was acceptable. I would consider returning during a cooler season when temperature and ventilation are less of an issue.

Quite small room with small tv. Typical chain hotel standards. No aircon unfortunately in the heat wave, just ceiling fan and desk fan. Windows open, though. View towards cathedral and old town.

Highly recommend this lovely intimate hotel. Fantastic location and view of cathedral from our room. Special shout-out to Leon at the front desk; first class service and guidance navigating the city sites. Park your car and walk!

Yelp
Overall hotel is clean, friendly service, good location to grocery store, restaurants , popular shops, train station etc .. No AC BUT I suppose it's a Europe thing. Pillows are such poor quality , paper thin felt like I was sleeping on flat surface. Asked for more pillows only got 2, one had no pillow case with a stain on it. Mattress stiff my back hurt after 3 days. Bathroom has no fan or window so always stuffy . Mind you this hotel was 700 plus dollars for 3 nights. The location of this hotel is prime though.
