Firstly the Swiss Wein by Fassbind is a very nice hotel - it is very well located, right by the exit to the lift from Bessieres Metro station - three stops from the main railway station.|We found the room to be comfortable, and the bed to be large and comfortable too. The shower was powerful and easy to operate with no variations in water temperature.|Reception staff were friendly and helpful, with very good English.|Breakfast was 20 CHF per person extra and was acceptable if not outstanding.|Almost five stars so far then, however.....|There was no air conditioning in the room, just a quiet and pretty efficient ceiling fan - but in June the nights can be hot, so it was stifling with the windows closed - but with the windows open it was impossible to sleep due to the traffic noise and rowdy behaviour from the street far below (we were on the fifth floor, go figure!) Until the early hours of the morning there was shouting, car engines revving, people leaning on their car horns, and it almost seemed like they were racing in the street - no idea what was going on, but it was every night, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.|We had to keep the windows closed all night, and consequently woke in the morning drenched in sweat.|It wasn't the hotel's fault, but you would think that in a civilised country like Switzerland there would be some police around to deal with what was certainly anti social behaviour?|We liked the hotel, but we would have to think carefully about returning for a stay in the warmer months of the year when we could not sleep with the windows closed.
