We were warmly welcomed and helped to check in which was nice. The room was wonderful, lovely view and sheets! Room service staff really friendly and food still hot. The concierge on departing was kind and caring, arranging our taxi and making sure we were sorted including saying goodbye. We loved this experience. Best part of our 3 week holiday in Europe was staying with you!

Stayed there during National Day Preview. Booked premier marina bay room. Beautiful & stunning view with the fireworks going on. ||Emailed them regarding about birthday celebration, kudos to Zuali & Lyka for the room decoration (balloons is not included). Awesome decoration with the 3 elephants and towel cake. Got a complimentary chocolate cake too! Very delicious, Love it! Thank you so much.||Room is big and clean. the toilet I would suggest a bidet near the toilet bowl. It is difficult to wash after big/small business.||Kids amenities are provided too! Etc toothbrush , slippers & bathrobe. They provided colour pencils and colouring paper|||Overall staff are friendly & accommodating.|I had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

I really like the filtered water provided in the bathroom and the glass bottles to use during our stay. It’s very good for the environment! Service at front desk by Perseus was excellent. View of the bay, Padang and fireworks is unbeatable. Being connected to Raffles city is convenient.

Google
A last minute amendment of the number of people staying was accommodated and suggestions to make it better were proposed to us. I had made a request through email for extra pillows and was provided with an air purifier as well. So sweet! The view we had was amazing as well. Plenty of shopping and dining options due to the wonderful location

The stay at the Swissôtel was perfect. I loved everything about it from an extremely comfortable bed, well-sized room and the location. Being located with an entrance to a mall was wonderful. Nothing was ever too far away. This mall then led to other malls ! MRT is right there too. Each time I left the room to go out, the lobby was full of positive hustle and bustle - a real feel good factor about this hotel

Google
Came to Swissotel for 1 night to watch the national day parade and the experience was awesome, love the room, the breathtaking view, comfortable bed, and good service. However, there was a problem with the bathroom, it was nice and warm but the water will splash out and the floor will be wet, had to change to rain shower so it wouldn't splash out so much. Overall, the hotel is great and will definitely come here again next year. 🫶

The best thing first — the views are simply unforgettable. From sunrise to sunset, and well into the night, Marina Bay and the Singapore skyline make an incredible backdrop. It’s a view we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and the beds were very comfortable, making it easy to relax. The location is excellent, with a large pool and the tennis courts, even if the latter is in full sun. On the downside, the hotel is a bit older, with lower ceilings and some signs of wear in the lifts, corridors, and bathroom. The lobby also often felt chaotic, crowded and filled with guests and luggage. Still, the comfort, cleanliness, and those amazing views more than made up for these minor issues — definitely worth the stay.

Google
Staff were exceptional. Customer focus and politeness definitely top notch. Room was comfortable and amenities were convenient and useful. Location made it convenient to access all of Singapore's attractions of interest to us. My wife absolutely loves the fragrance of the lobby as we enter it everyday. Would be wonderful if we could have bottled that and brought it home with us, as it would have been the cherry on the top of wonderful vacation memories.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with amazing views in Singapore. So lucky to be able to spend our first night in Asia at the Swissôtel The Stamford. Location is just perfect. Easy access to Marina Bay, Chinatown, Little India, and the Raffles Hotel. Loved our upgraded room with a balcony with views to the bay. Perfect to watch the sunrise or sunset. Breakfast at the Asia Market Cafe was delicious. So many choices in this halal buffet. The pho bar was so good. Noodles for breakfast? Definitely! Grilled veggies, fresh fruits, jasmine tea, chicken tarts and more. So nice to take a swim in the circular lap pool as the sun came up. Such a peaceful and tranquil way to start the day. The concierge staff, check in desk and luggage storage staff were great. Would highly recommend the Swissôtel for a great stay in Singapore.

Yelp
This hotel was perfect the location especially. Had everything you needed within the hotel itself. A lot of shops offered in the lower level and plenty of places to eat. ATMs for convenience and a huge wall within walking distance. Great hotel, the views were breathtaking!

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel through the new year and got an amazing view of the new year fireworks and show. It was a beautiful hotel, with clean rooms. It was located just above a large shopping area so there was a lot of shopping and food to explore. It is also close to a MRT station and not too far from the bay. I would recommend staying here.

Yelp
Nightmare...so many little annoying things. Room was ok. Matreeses were surprisingly good. First, no tv. Error message saying service not available. Room keys went bad after one use. They promised a view, it was out the back of the hotel and pretty industrial. It's a hotel for kids. It's loud. Food was expensive and not that good... The final horror was the bathroom floor, which stayed wet and very slippery to the point of danger. I felt like even after putting towels on the floor if you weren't on one with both feet, you might essily slide and go down. We transfered after one night

Yelp
On of the high end Hotel in Marina /Raffles area. I was lucky to be on high floor and my room offers spectacular view of the city financial district and a partial of Marina Bay Sands. Majority of the SGP attractions are nearby, Esplanade, Boat Quay, Clark Quay, Riverwalk, Fort Channing Park, Armenian Street , Marina Bay to name a few. Service is is amazing as well as amenities. Fitness center and Spa is shared with Fairmont Hotel. For ultimate luxury experience booked one of their exclusive room . I'll try their sky bar and restaurant next time.

Yelp
One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at and absolutely lives up to its 5 star rating. Like everything in both Switzerland and Singapore this hotel is immaculately clean. It's also remarkably quiet given the considerable street noise. The bed and sheets are amazingly comfortable and the curtains are better at blocking out light than any others I've experienced. One of the best features of the room is motion-activated night lights. Since it's so dark with these curtains seeing anything is impossible when they're closed. This is so helpful when getting out if bed in with the curtains closed. All in all I'd recommend this hotel 100%, especially if you have a lot of jet lag to beat in a short amount of time. Top notch comfort certainly makes that easier! Also the breakfast buffet is fantastic.

Yelp
I have returned for an update! After two weeks of staying here at Swissôtel The Stamford, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Singapore both for business and leisure purposes. This hotel is conveniently located by a subway (MRT - mass rapid transit) station called City Hall. City Hall is a transfer station for almost all the lines linking to many parts of the island. There is also a mall and a grocery store connected to the hotel just like the subway (MRT) station. Singapore government put me up at this hotel to serve a 14 days Stay-Home notice as she did to all returnees. The entire stay is paid for by the government and includes 3 meals a day and unlimited laundry. I was so lucky to be placed at this hotel. With a breathtaking view and a balcony, there was really nothing much I could ask for. All the meals were great and some of them were simply amazing. The only fault I could find of the hotel was serving me so much food. LOL!! The portion was huge and even a breakfast was like a full meal. This girl would be happy with just some toast or waffle. The room was really spacious. The bed has been confirmed to be so comfortable. The work area was perfect. The couch by the desk was so comfortable to sit on. There was ample storage in the room. I unpacked most of my suitcases and put them away in cabinets and drawers. As mentioned in my first review, the room comes with two bathrobes and two pairs of slippers. Staffs would give me a friendly daily call to check if everything was good and if I need anything in the room. Room was stocked with Nespresso capsules and TWG tea. I usually asked for more water and tea bags. Fresh towels were given every other day. I have ordered a couple of deliveries and hotel staff would send to my room at lightning speed. All the hotel staffs have worked so hard during this challenging times. I had been so pampered during my 14 days stay here, so much so that I really did not want to leave. I was actually sad when it was time to pack up and check out of the hotel. I read a review by a fellow yelper who gave this hotel a one star. This one star should be direct to Accor hotel groups which own this and many of the hotels worldwide, and not on this property itself. It is not fair. The hotel property and her staffs did not deserve your one star. Go to this link https://all.accor.com/event/information.en.shtml One option suggested on the link was to get a credit of full amount paid for all "non-refundable" or "non-flexible" rate. My personal advice to travelers, in general, to use an Amex card for all airline/ hotel bookings. Buy a travel insurance. There is always a risk in non refundable booking in all things. Just be smart about it. 05.19.2020

Yelp
Pretty crowded place, but it's pretty nice. The location is really good. Walking distance to just about everything. I like staying there, but a bit on the expensive side.

Yelp
A pleasant stay. The hotel is conveniently located. The views from the top floors of the rooms on the top floor are impressive. The small balcony connected to my room on the 32nd floor was easily accessible through a glass door. The breakfast buffet is good, but not as good as the Fairmont Hotel buffet breakfast (the two hotels are connected and share a conference center). The biggest disappointment during my stay is that the hotel charged 40 Singapore dollars for a shower on the day I checked out during the late afternoon.

Yelp
The Swissotel was a mixed experience for me, but overall I was left with a generally good impression. The location is quite nice for both tourism and business. It's conveniently above the City Hall MRT stop, and attached to the Raffles City shopping mall. The shopping mall has really great food options in the basement, including a Din Tai Fung, some dessert places, some bakeries, and some local Sinaporean cuisine options. It's not a far walk to the water to see the sights there, or even to Orchard Road for shopping. The views of the city and the harbor from the rooms are spectacular and totally worth the price. It's really a pleasure to wake up to that every morning, and the tall windows and balconies are a nice touch. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, which was a small source of problems for our hotel stay. We were "upgraded" to a newly renovated room at check-in, which was nice of them. Unfortunately, they placed us on a floor under a bunch of construction, which woke us up both in the evening while napping (yay, jet lag) and early in the morning. When I asked about the possibility of changing rooms, I was pretty stiffly and frostily told that the construction was necessary for the betterment of the hotel and that daily construction from 8am to 6pm was to be expected. It took me offering to downgrade rooms or pay extra for a room change before they seemed to realize I was serious and offered me a free room change. Even that room change, though, was offered a bit grudgingly. The staff was professional throughout our entire interaction, but I got the impression they just didn't have any real interest in resolving my problem. Because of my room switch, I stayed in both a newly renovated room and a classic room during my time there. The newly renovated rooms are fantastic. I think the hotel did a really good job with the redesign, putting in thoughtful touches like adjustable/automatic lighting, rain showers, and lots of USB ports. The old rooms are quite "classic" and lack a lot, especially when it comes to lighting and power (only a couple of outlets, quite far from the beds). If possible, I would encourage you to splurge on a renovated room until the hotel is done with the work (I think it's set to go on for another year or so). Things like check-in and check-out were efficient. Room cleaning was fine. Wifi is offered for free, as are bottles of water.

Yelp
When I first stayed at the Swissotel Stamford it was owned by the Westin hotel chain and was by far the best hotel in all of Southeast Asia. Since being bought out, the service, fortunately, has maintained its top performance. The upper floors, the security floors provide a fantastic view of the downtown area, including the Merlion statue if your room faces that direction. The skyline at night, from any room, is breathtaking. A bit of advice; spend a little more to get the upper elevation rooms. You won't be disappointed. One of bennies of staying at the Swissotel is its proximity to the Raffles Hotel and the Long Bar (see my review of the Long Bar). And most importantly, while you're in Singapore, eat, eat, eat!!! My usual routine is 5 meals a day with a calorie-induced power nap in between each meal.

Yelp
When traveling I always rely on yelp. I hope this can be some help to those traveling to Singapore. We stay at this hotel and it was amazing. Great rooms great views and great pools! The hotel is in the middle of everything. Close to the subway, the mall, and historical museums. I can honestly say it was a 5/5. The people were friendly and welcoming they even upgraded our room for free.

Yelp
Very nice hotel in Singapore. The amenities are great, good selection of different restaurants, gym and pool are nice, the bar at the top of the hotel is great, the rooms are incredibly clean and spacious. The views no matter which direction you're looking are great as well. Definitely one of the better hotels that I've stayed in my travels.

Yelp
My first time staying in this hotel and it was mind blowing. I had tried Grand Hyatt, Royal Plaza on Scots and even the high end luxury St Regis but nothing beat this one. For the price I'm paying coupled of free nights I got its definitely worth it. I got the 26th floor with a stunning view of Marina Bay harbor. It's that amazing that I slept with the door opened at night. I even woke up early just to soaked up that quiet morning view of Singapore and spent more time in my room then I would outside staying out in my balcony. Their service was good and that accessibility to shopping and dining together with Mrt made it even more outstanding. It's one of those hotels I would recommend. Way better than my stay with Pullman Paris which I had a view overlooking the Eiffel Tower.

Yelp
It's very rare for me to write a review on a hotel. I've been to a lot of cities and countries, but the Swissotel tops them all!. It's so hard to find a hotel in Singapore for a reasonable price but for the convenience of this hotel, every penny is worth it... ok my wallet my be hurting but every detail of this hotel makes up for it. The Swissotel is located right above the city hall station. When you get off you will enter a very high end mall.. Follow the signs and i will lead you to the hotel. I requested for a room with a nice view and wow did i get a view! I had to view of downtown Singapore (the financial center) , the merlion, the durians (the two concert/porcupine looking thing), and the Marina bay sands and gardens. I had my own balcony too! Even when i went to check into my room, the hotel desk clerk said " wow, you have a very nice view" The room was clean and had everything I needed. They even have an US outlet for US travelers. One downside of this hotel was that there was not free wi-fi. But if you get the traveler's sim card it has 3G already, so i didn't really need the Wi-Fi. I called the desk several times for help and questions and they were so nice they were willing to even send someone to my room to help me weigh my luggage. The concierge was just as helpful as i ask for directions and suggestions the places. My favorite apart of this hotel was that even the maids were just as helpful. I needed help learning how to use the air conditioning unit and they made sure i was fine before they left. The hotel also has a huge food court right below it, with ka yun kaya toast, din tai fung, gong cha and much more. But keep in mind that they close early at 11 p.m. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations! Thank you for a terrific time!!

Yelp
Conveniently located next to the MRT (City Hall Stop), the Swissotel is right beside the Fairmont Singapore and shares the same shopping centre, Robinson's below the lobby. There's a small grocery and Din Tai Fung as well. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean. I stayed here for 5 nights during December 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The facilities which include a spa and a fitness centre are impressive. The friendly staff is professional and tried to accommodate my family's needs. They even extended our late check-out on the last day to 4pm. Complimentary wifi as well! Two thumbs up!

Yelp
I came here to stay for the weekend. I would have to say that most hotel's in Singapore are very nice. Singapore is just a beautiful country to stay at all together. As their crime rates are low and everyone speaks either Mandarin or English very well. Service at the front desk was very kind helpful and patient. The room itself is very spacious with a nice view of the city. This is especially pretty at night where you can see all the pretty lights at night. The rooms are also very clean and smells good. They really take their time to make your bed, freshen your towels etc to make your stay comfortable. The gym is also really good for being in a hotel. There is free weights upstairs and they have a squat rack and bench press. There is also cardio equipment downstairs. There is also breakfast downstairs which has good variety in terms of Indian, Chinese, and American food. If you can book the breakfast with the hotel room it is much cheaper otherwise it is like $38 dollars for breakfast. If you don't want to have breakfast there, there is also a food court attached to the mall where they have tons of good food as well. The swimming pool which they call the alligator pool is also really pretty and nice and that is shared with another hotel I think, but very beautiful and nice to sit and relaxed. Another key point to this hotel is that it is located right next to McDonald's and also to the MRT so that you can just take the train to work or wherever you need to go. WiFi is also free if you stay there. If you are in Singapore this is good place to stay.

Yelp
I have stayed here for over 170 nights in the past year and my review is still 5 stars. Staff, food, amenities, facilities are all top-notch. I would like to give a shout out to Ronald from the executive lounge and the entire breakfast staff. They truly make my stay enjoyable every time and I appreciate their heart felt service. For people staying here for the first time, I would recommend signing up for the rewards program (swissotel circle). You get free wifi during your stay and you can collect free nights if you stay often enough. Also, if you have an executive room or need to access the executive lounge, you need to insert your key card to access your floor and the lounge. There is a complimentary shoe shine service for all guests so do take advantage of that.

Yelp
I stayed here for about a week while in Singapore recently. The location is in a good spot and is connected to a mall with a supermarket and lots of restaurants and shops! Also it's convenient that a Starbucks is nearby if you are beating the jet lag and need some coffee!! The rooms are nice with a great view of marina bay and downtown. You have access to a nice spa, gym and pool! We enjoyed it very much. The hotel toiletries were just ok, nothing to dream about. There wasn't a lot of snacks either in the room or readily available which is a little annoying. The hotel provides 4 bottled waters everyday which is very nice considering the heat!! Bottom line..good place to stay overall and worth the five star rating. In terms of the service, I give it only 4 stars since they were not super accommodating and the access to snacks late at night is a challenge Pros Location Overall layout and decor Water bottles Gym, spa and pool are great Cons Service could be more accommodating The hallways can be overcrowded with people Snacks could be more readily available Gym could have more balancing equipment for core workouts

Yelp
In general, it's a nice, comfortable hotel with a very convenient locale. Some booking sites give the Swissôtel chain a 4Star hotel rating, BUT we found it closer to be a 3.5. My wife and I looked for a 4 star hotel online and selected this one. We had a pretty nice 6-night stay here; BUT our overall EXPERIENCE was a 3.0. We did take advantage of its convenient location to visit Chinatown, Esplanada, Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay, several museums, the Chijmes... Oh yes, the famed LONG BAR is only a few min WALK away. DETAILS THE GOOD: - My wife and I had a large std room with a balcony on the 28fl facing the Carlton Hotel Tower, with a view of the open air swimming pool and tennis courts on the 8th fl. Our room had 2 queen beds; a desk; a safe in closet; a good sized, modern bathroom with a tub, but without a separate shower stall; free wifi (worth $28/day, after signing up the free Swissotel Membership); free in-room coffee and tea. - The front staff was friendly, patient and helpful for check-in/out. The house keeping was very efficient, and had no problem delivering extra bath towels upon request. Valets were very helpful and pleasant with luggages and getting taxis. We enjoyed the view of the pools drom the balcony, and were very happy with its convenient location to MTR, shopping, restaurants and other attractions, such as The Raffles, National Museum, Esplanada, Marina Bay. THE NOT SO GOOD 1. The shower/tub is poorly designed, leaking water during & after shower. 2. There was a persistent, unpleasant odor in the bathroom. We traced its source to the OUTSIDE, BOTTOM part of the toilet bowl, which collected dirt! The poor design of the bowl probably made it difficult to clean the hidden outside bottom part, causing the odor! 3. Bath towels are thin, the type commonly found in LOW-END hotels. 4. The carpet in our room is buckled. I tripped over it, though did not fall. 5. The HALLWAY has a LOW-END feel. It lacks class and upkeep. The wall paper is peeling; bottom of the wall in the hallway badly scratched. 6. The hotel lacks the presence of security staff in the lobby elevator area. Elevators do not require a keycard to get to any floor. Although the double-door to the elevator hall requires a keycard at night, anyone can (and do) just follow someboby through before the doors close! 7. The lobby, although spacious, does NOT give the feel of a high-end hotel, as compared to Carlton (4Star) or other 4+Star hotels such as Ritz-Carlton, InterContinental. (By the way, in all those hotels, there's always the presence of a staff member in the entrance hallway to guest elevators, which require a keycard to operate.) 8. The check-in/check-out lines seemed to be ALWAYS LONG. We did not use the fitness center, nor the famed helipad lounge/restaurant on the top. We heard the tower section facing the Bay was spectacular. All those could, perhaps, have earned an extra half star to the rating? Mid-Feb 2014

Yelp
My my my ... Well, I could make this an epic spew of what pissed me off, but rather I'll make it as fair as possible based on a simple act of mathematics. Room, comfort, food etc = 5 stars. I have to say, the bed here is rather nice. The view on the high floor where we stayed was magnificent. I slept well and enjoyed my experience even if the room was a tad smaller than I remember in the past. The breakfast buffet was fine too. 5 starts minus 2 stars for dogshit service = 3 stars. So what the fuck went wrong here? Well, for starters our flight came in at 1pm and we got to the hotel just before 2pm. When we checked in - first off - the line was absolutely ridiculous. Why? Because either everyone ahead of me had some kind of bullshit issue, or it was because (and most likely bc of this) that everyone working behind the counter had the mental aptitude of a cricket and worked at the most ridiculously slow pace imaginable. When the line is long - good business sense dictates that you try whatever means possible to expedite the line. At least for a good hotel like this one. After waiting like 40 minutes to get to the counter, we were told to come back 2 hours later to get our room since it was "not done yet". Bear in mind this was already way past the noted check-in time. I left pissed off, jetlagged, and came back within an hour, where I told a manager to get me room asap. Fortunately he apologized for the wait and gave us a nice, high room. But seriously, come on guys, I remember they had the same issue years ago (I'm talking like 7 or 8 years ago) when I stayed here. Check in (and out) should not be this painful!

L.J. K.

Yelp
I am giving Swissôtel thee stars. As nice as it was it had two glaring problems which I cannot ignore. 1. The telephone is located in the furthest reaches of the sleeping area. Also there was no phone on the desk. 2. There were no spare outlets next to the beds. In order to run my breathing machine, I had to run an extension cord to the nearest outlet. LJK

Yelp
I enjoyed staying at this hotel for 4 days during our stay in Singapore. From the moment we stepped out of the cab, to the moment we left, service was absolutely top-notch. Everyone was friendly and made us feel at home. The hotel caters to business travelers and plenty of airline folks looking to crash before their next flight. The rooms were clean, and the bed was very comfortable. When we saw a small stain at the corner of the bed, my wife called them and they promptly came up to change the sheets. Since we were on the 58th floor, the best part of the room was the beautiful city skyline view of Singapore. It had views of Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Flyer, and the Gardens by the Bay. The private patio overlooking the city was great, although you have to be careful -- there's a note warning you about having a max of 3 people on there. Anyone can easily flip over and plunge to their death below (although you would have a great view before going splat). I can't imagine anyone being stupid enough to have a few too many drinks hanging outside the patio. Other than the view, the other best part is the central location right in the heart of downtown. The hotel is connected to a shopping mall (Raffles), a massive food court with plenty of options, and the train station. I found myself wandering around during the early morning hours, but it's just dead. All the hustle bustle is mostly at night when the locals are eating and hanging out late. I knocked off a star because the hotel is on the pricey side, and Wi-Fi was not included. It was $9 per hour, or $28 for the day just for Wi-Fi. Pretty ridiculous, considering the how much the rooms were. If I was in town for business and the company was paying, I'd definitely book this hotel. If I traveled for fun, I would look for another, cheaper alternative.

Yelp
Whoa, Yelp covers Singapore now? Why then, it's time to bring in an edited version of a write-up I did for this hotel on that other trip advisory review site. === Summary: Dated hotel lagging behind Singapore's finest. Saved by the convenience factor for transit and shopping, and an *unbeatable* race track view during F1 Singapore Grand Prix. There are some flaws with the rooms and the experience, so I'll get them out of the way: * Lack of wireless internet in the guestrooms, and similarly insufficient connectivity in the public spaces. This seems terribly backwards in this day and age. * An iPod/iPhone dock for recharging would also have been nice. * Some carpet stains showing sign of premature aging. * Bath fixtures are oftentimes water-stained, loose, and of dubious maintenance. * All things considered, it was a comfortable, no-frills room without 21st century gadgetry. Any of these issues would have been par for the course in many other cities. But in Singapore, home to some of the finest hotels in the world, and standards-setting expectations in all hotel classes, they stand out as being glaring omissions. That all said, this was a *fantastic* hotel for my stay during the 2010, 2011, and 2012 F1 Grand Prix: * Outstanding view of the track: I had an overhead view of the track between Turn 9 and Turn 14, from room 5359, as well as the Padang Stage where the headliner musicians performed. As if that wasn't enough, all of the rooms have balconies from which you can watch the action, hear the sounds, and enjoy the breeze. Make sure you book the "Marina View" rooms for this, and expect to pay dearly. * Absolutely perfect location: Adjacent to Gate 3, and also connected to the MRT stations City Hall and Esplanade, which allowed for easy 2-station transit to the other side of the racetrack. * More love for the location: The attached shopping center basically puts all the necessary amenities right at the hotel -- Money changer, vendors for prepaid SIM cards, a supermarket, electronics (for the aforementioned iPhone cable), destination-worthy restaurants (Din Tai Fung, for one), vendors for fresh mango juice, stores selling rum to be added to said mango juice, and an array of stores for shopping. * Combine the above and you have a room far superior to any hospitality suite at the track: A private space in which to enjoy the race (rain or shine!), with your choice of foods and beverages, supported by a capable Room Service team for anything you might need. (In our case, many buckets of ice for supermarket champagne.) Service is gracious and outstanding, as expected of such a hotel in Singapore, with the staff in smiles despite the obvious pressure they were under. For 2011 and 2012, I've actually skipped the race tickets and hosted friends at the splurgy room here instead. It's that good for Formula 1.

Yelp
Can I give this hotel six stars? Impeccable customer service. The staff did their best to make this stay perfect and truly enjoyable. From the front desk, to housekeeping, to the staff attending the executive floor, to the bellhops, and to the service staff at the restaurants: kudos to your hospitality, kindness, willingness to extend a helping hand, professionalism, and huge smiles. I have never experienced such wonderful customer service. The hotel was conveniently located at Raffles City. The mall is just a few steps away. The room we stayed in was wide and very clean with a gorgeous view of the marina. The breakfast spread was very good with lots and lots of delicious food choices. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family who wish to visit Singapore.

Yelp
I have stayed in a number of hotels in Singapore over the years and find all of them to be welcoming and accomodating. I must say, that my stay at the Stamford left me a bit speechless. The first room I was given had a ceiling leak in the shower. The hotel management was kind enough to move me a slightly nicer room as they could not repair the leak quickly. Upon entering this "upgrade" room, I immediately noticed that the toilet did not work. Maintenance said they couldn't fix it until the following morning, so I endured that evening. Upon my return from work the next day, I found my room had not been cleaned, the toilet had not been fixed, and there were no supplies. Mentioned all of this to management and when I returned from dinner all was fixed and I received a bottle of wine and a day calendar. My biggest problem is the total lazy way the hotel took this experience. I have traveled all over the world and this is the first time this has happened to me. The room has a tea pot, coffee and teas available, but they NEVER bring you cups to drink out of. I had to request housekeeping 2 times to bring a coffee mug. I am quite disappointed in the service. Hotel restaurants and bars are some of the besst in Singapore. The hotel itself, during my stay, leaves much to be desired.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay here. Based on my experience, this is one of the best hotels I've ever been to. Visited on business for about a week and I was very pleased overall by the cleanliness of the room and the excellent service. Plenty of elevators and taxis that frequently line up in front. Gym was good but a bit difficult to get to from my room. Had to go through the lobby of the adjacent Fairmont Singapore hotel since it was too early for my tower's gym access door to be open. Great central location and literally connected to the Raffles City Shopping Center. Food courts are just a short walk away. Also, a Starbucks and McDonalds right next door. Only criticism is the price, but you get what you pay for. Fortunately, I was on a business trip so it was paid for and our corporate rate includes wi-fi. Also, the City Space bar on the top floor cost $$ just to go up there... even for hotel guests!

Yelp
I've stayed here a few times, and I've always loved it. This place is very, very, very central and I love the way everything is just really nearby and all. It's plush and comfy. What I Love: 1) Room Service: It's fab and affordable. The Fish & Chips is totally fab and it's famous and the Chef's recommendation. 2) Room: Rooms are clean, sheets are great and the toilets are well-planned. 3) Getting a room on the 28th floor and above would give you amazing views of the City, and of the Singapore Flyer. 4) The bar on the rooftop is famous, and the view is fab, though the place is pretty pricey. 5) It's connected to Raffles City Shopping Centre, which is connected to the train station, with shops, banks, etc. What I Don't Love: It's generally crowded, and the rooms are not really cheap. But that's the reality in Singapore anyway.

Yelp
Our 2day/3 night stay at Singapore's Swissotel The Stamford was excellent. The hotel check-in was fast and our room was on the 56th floor with a great view. The room was spacious, clean and had a small balcony. The decor of the room was modern. Free Wi-Fi if you are a Swissotel member. The hotel is fabulous for location. Walking distance to MRT, to the Merlion, to Raffles Hotel. Also very close to Chinatown. Hotel is connected to the Raffles City Mall where we went to for breakfast. Taxis are plentiful and easy to hail. We did not pay for the breakfast buffet, so I can not comment. No problems with this hotel - we had a very comfortable stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Singapore.

Yelp
Located in the heart of Singapore right above the Robinsons', I had a higher expectation for this place. First of all, the front office staffs greet you with no smile or passion. It is like they have been trained to be a robot. Growing up in a family highly involved in hotel management, that is the first no-no for front office staffs! Leading up to that, if you get one of their staycation packages, do not expect to get any of the perks (besides the discount) if you check-in just an hour past the check-in time. In fact, they don't even acknowledge it until we pried them a few times about it. The hotel decor and rooms are a little old looking as most reviewers have already mention. But they are very spacious and most of them comes with great view of the city, mainly because of the structure of the hotel. I would classify this place more as a business hotel rather than a resort one. Yet, it should only be your choice if your stay will be short because their wifi charges are pretty enormous. Their fridge is exclusively for the drinks and snacks they provide only. These can be pretty expensive and has a detector that automatically charges to your account when you check-out. So, don't plan for anything that requires fridge space. But, if you do plan to actually get a good night sleep, their bed is lovely! It is very comfortable and guarantees a deep sleep. They also have friendly staffs in their in-house kitchen and room delivery service. I wish these people gets to be on the front line more! They definitely made the stay more pleasant! Amenities wise, the pool is out of question if this is a business stay. It is over-crowded and swimming a full lap is highly challenging. The tennis courts and gym will be your remaining options. Even finding a lounge chair by the pool was hard for us. Also note that the pool area is open to smoking so if you chance by when there a lot of smokers around, it is not a very pleasant environment. Overall, this should be low on your list. There are way better hotels within walking distance if the location is your target. As for the price, even with the staycation discount, it is not worth compromising the more friendly service and high quality amenities you get at other nearby hotels.

Yelp
This happened a number of years ago. Every time I think of it, it still gives me the chills. I had absolutely the worst hotel experience in my entire professional life at this Hotel. That year, there was a CommunicAsia event in Singapore, thru corporate travel, I booked this hotel. After several days of working, running between hot/humid tropical weather and extremely cold air conditioned indoor environment, I got a cold, plus fever towards the end of that trip. On my last day in Singapore, I got really sick. After taken Nyquil and few others meds, I was falling asleep in my hotel room. (For those of you who travel frequently, you know how terrible it is to be sick on a business trip, while being 5,000 miles away from home.) Surprisingly, the hotel desk phoned me multiple times to remind me that my reservation had expired on that day. Despite I explained that I was really sick and would like to extend my stay for one more day, the hotel refused to comply. Worst of all, they sent a bell boy with a luggage cart and wanted to throw me out of the hotel. Any of you can image, how sick and sad I felt at that moment. I had to drag myself and my sick body to pack and load my luggages. At that night, I went straight to Changi airport, bought the next immediate flight out of Singapore. Boy, was I feeling sick during that 6 hours of flight from Singapore to HK. I spend two nights at the airport Regent Hotel in HK, then flew back to Los Angeles. After that, I swear to myself, to NEVER EVER stay at another Swisshotel establishment. Guess what, I did and I am doing now. Until today, a friend of mine mentioned his next stay in Swisshotel, I can feel the chills again. After all these years, I can still feel how terrible that hotel was and I still feel strongly to share that with others. Never another stay, not even my foot traffic near another Swisshotel.

Yelp
This hotel is hiding behind a policy that is no longer relevant for the world we are currently living in and charging their customers 100% off their booking if they try to cancel or are a no show. REALLY?!? Have a up popper your head up to see what is going on in the world!? The United States has issued a Level 4 travel warning and has told its citizens not to travel internationally or if you are out of country to return home immediately. They are telling citizens if you ignore this warning you could end up stranded out of country indefinitely. Who could have possibly thought we would be where we are today when I made this apparently "unrefundable" booking!? We are trying to work together globally to stop the spread of this virus, yet your company is refusing to offer any flexibility and taking money from people who have no way to get to and home from your property. I will never book a stay with you again. This pandemic will pass eventually and I hope people remember those companies who responded this way - I know I will.

Yelp
If you are visiting Singapore you can't go wrong with the Swissotel, The Stamford. Great rooms, service and location. I have only had one meal here and it was very nice, but I can't comment on the food just yet. I would suspect it will be great.

Yelp
Great food great service. Very comfortable rooms. The conference team was very flexible and patient with all our changes. Excellent tasty food. And the view and food in SKAI. Also loved buffet breakfast in Clove. When can I return?

Yelp
How does a hotel in the best part of Singapore have one of worst elevators in town? Plan on 5-10 minutes to and from lobby as it seems they only have one out of the six running at a time. For some of the elevators the light doesn't work on some of the floors so you just hear the noise of the elevator "arriving" but no light indicating where its going. Come on!

Yelp
I usually don't give so many stars to big hotels, because they suck. They charge you for everything from a glass of tea to even the toothbrush that they provide. But Swissotel was definitely different. The service was impeccable, the views were awesome. And the comfort was there. I will definitely come back here.

Yelp
Considering we stayed at Swissotel over NYE I was really surprised the room rate was on par with what we were expecting to have to pay with other lower budget hotels. We stayed in a standard room and although we weren't on the top floor, the view from level 36 was still pretty spectacular. Our room was spacious and the bed was absolutely delightful and so comfortable, just what we needed after a busy week in Africa to get over jetlag and feel well rested. The staff were quick to rectify a blocked drain in our bathtub, and we even got our room serviced the day we checked in, after we'd slept for a few hours and then went out for lunch, which we weren't expecting having only spent a few hours in our room after an early check in. We spent a couple hours by the pool one evening enjoying happy hour cocktails, but the pool became too cold to enjoy once the sun went down. Overall I'd definitely be happy to stay there again.

Yelp
Another great hotel. Wonderful place to call home in Singapore, even if it's for just a couple of nights. The WiFi is not free (in fact, you will need to take out a loan to fund even the lightest of browsing around), and the food is pricey, but hey! This is not an economy hotel. Well appointed with superb views. VERY quiet and well attended by the front staff and floor personnel. It ranks right up there with the Leela Palace in Bangalore (I often commuted from one to the other when doing South East Asia, then over to India). Hint: I prefer it to Raffles which is more or less right next door. Recommended. I am indeed a fan.

Yelp
Just got back from a week's stay, and II think this is one of the best places around, anywhere. Let me sum this up first: Just plant your butt there, you will not regret it. Note the details. I've stayed at some pretty nice places, all over, but this one has them all outdone. Proof that fancy lobbies don't mean a thing. Staff: could not have been better. I had several interactions throughout the week, each person I dealt with knew there stuff, understood what I needed, and we got it fixed. Rooms: Love 'em. Big, comfortable, modern (though my TV control needs to be replaced) and the control panel next to the bed is the bomb. Food: Actually quite good. Now for a big deal, no matter what time I called, they said it would be delivered "in 30 minutes". Yeah right! Guess my stunned expression when 29 minutes later the doorbell rang. Not a fluke, happened all the times. (Austrian influence, I think so!) Beds: magnificent. PS: I ran down the manufacturer, I'm buying one. Facility itself: For such high volume, it is in incredibly good repair. Yes, the elevators were slow and did ghost stops. Minor defect. Location: You're not going to get any better. Learn the underground mall layout and you're good to go, just about anywhere. In closing: This is my go too. It is very evident that the Director has set high standards and the team gets it. Well done.

Yelp
Love the hotel but 2nd time on a row now issues with Internet/wifi. Don't expect that in SG and certainly not in a hotel like this. Impacts my ability to do business and will have to look at other hotels next time.

Yelp
Facilities of this hotel is a bit ancient, bu the location and view is quite good. People can walk to the marina bay. Room service was very poor because they forgot to pick up the cloth for lundry

Yelp
We have stayed at this hotel twice: both times for a night after leaving a cruise ship to wait to catch a very early flight. It is a decent place to stay. This time rooms were available early which was nice. There was a helpful attitude of the staff with whom we interacted. I do find the hotel a little confusing. Our air conditioning did not work well. Front desk sent an engineer who improved things. More impressive: followup call from front desk to make sure things were ok. It has a good selection of restaurants and bars which I enjoyed. With both stays being brief I can't say much more. We have stayed in three other hotels in this city. It is middle of the road for comfort and facilities. We were on the 9th floor and found it very noisy: we were higher up last time so missed the noise, particularly loud motorcycles. I don't know how room rates are since the cruise line pays directly. We had drinks and a duck pizza at equinox in the early evening. During happy hour it cost $75 Singapore dollars, high but not unreasonable in this expensive city.
