Hôtel Sylvabelle Marseille

I'll start with the things that were positive. Location-wise very central and in a safe area. Reception staff were friendly. Now onto the negative.. I'm convinced that this hotel does not have proper cleaners. The room was in a bad state, there was a hardened sock behind the heater.. the mattrass was very dirty (but thank god no bed bugs) and the toilet was clearly not cleaned. The toiletbrush had white stains on it that I don't even know how that happened. There was no bin in the entire room and you only got 1 toiletpaper. Furthermore, no shampoo etc. Also, no daily cleaning, yet it was stated on booking.com that the room would be cleaned daily. And of course, no elevator.. My best advice to hotel sylvabelle is to please hire some decent cleaners or at least pay them better.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!! Worst experience ever the dorms are full of insects and the showers are in horrible conditions, upon my arrival I had no sheets and due to the conditions I asked for a private room for what I had to pay extra money, in the middle of the night a leakage from the toilet above came from the ceiling, they told me to contact booking for a refund, booking as a third party will only refund u a little percentage of the total amount and they take cero responsibilities. This hotel is under extremely poor healthy and hygienic conditions. They should be sued for running a hotel like this, the pictures do not much the location, spend a little bit more money and safe yourself from this horrific experience.

Helpful staff, BUT No Hot water at all, even toilet, bathroom or kitchen. I stay at a Dormitory room Room door also no/ can not close, the Bed Is ok BUT Blanket is DIRTY and Smelly! Facilities is look Old/ not so good and a bit dirty the Toilet area. Location is ok, not too far the center, also has some food shops and grocery around

Unfortunately the whole house is unclean. We had to change rooms, because of bedbugs. The second room had them too. The staff is very friendly and managed to change our room at 1AM. But the walls and floors have dirty marks. The Hotel is situated near the vieux port, which is quite nice.

It was ok..as it was heated so it was comfortable..ok for the price. I don't mind cheap hotels like this..used to them

ATTENTION Definitely don't stay in this hostel 1. not a clean place 2. There are no security measures, none of the doors are locked, No room is locked, It's a casual place, like a shop. 3. It's safer to go and sleep outside

Theres no locks on any doors including the outside, reception is also on the second floor so anyone could just walk in with obeying noticed. There’s also no lockers. Bed was comfy and clean but bathrooms and showers were disgusting. Fine for one night but not any more if you have any type of luggage

After going through multiple reviews (that are actually 4-5 years old) I was pleasantly surprised that the room was pretty decent! I travelled to Marseille with 2 of my friends and we booked a room for 3 people. I was afraid that I would find cockroaches, bed bugs, or unsanitary conditions. BUT, everything was clean, tidy and in-place. In fact the television was also functional! Enough toilet papers were provided along with hand soap in the bathroom. Overall, for €124 for 3 days (accommodating 3 people) was a fantastic deal from Hotel Sylvabelle, Marseille! The only downside was the poor wifi connection (I mean it was Okay-ish). The people at the reception were also very mannered. If you don’t mind the tobacco smell (occasionally) and you’re just looking for a cheap stay (without expecting a fancy hotel-experience) for a short stay in Marseille for 3-4 days, I would recommend Hotel Sylvabelle!! Thank You.
