Absolutely horrible, I am not joking when I say do not go here. Arrived and the man acted as though he was on drugs, wet sneezed into his hands then handed me my money and passport. Once we got into the hotel room the bed frame was broken, the stool was broken, and there was used toilet paper on the toilet, like come on if your not gonna clean it at least pick the toilet paper up to pretend that you have. I then got accused of ransacking the place cause I lifted up the bed sheets to look for bed bugs, and surprise surprise we found them. I want my money back but they denied the request. Come on surely they can’t be strapped for cash considering all the people they have ripped off, I am owed £113 and I will get it!

The worst hotel I have stayed at in my life so far. We arrived and the receptionist was clearly not well, gave really poor service, sneezed on our passports and did not seem fit to work. Got into the room and our bedframe was broken, stool was broken, used toilet paper was on the toilets and we checked the sheets for bedbugs, and lo and behold, we found some. This hotel was run down and scummy, their service was horrible, and worst of all, they accused us of ransacking the room (all we did was strip the u washed bedsheets to check for the very real bedbugs) and even for being dishonest! Dishonest where? I have never felt so insulted and unsafe as in the Hotel Sylvabelle. Do not stay here. They better give me my £113 back.

Do not fall for the cheap price! If you stay there, report the hostel to the French health authorities and try to get your money back. The hygiene is abysmal, it has never been cleaned. Even the sleeping rooms smell like sweat and feces. There is broken furniture and basically no functional safety feature. The staff lied to me about how the change sheets every day. I stayed for six nights and no one ever changed a sheet.

I stayed in the room with a friend in Marseille last week, even though we knew the ratings were not very good, due to the limited budget, we had to choose it. But the room was really bad, there was the construction going at the ground floor, which was noisy and dusty. The bathroom and room was not very clean too. The worst part of the stay was the bed bugs, my friend who travelled with her, had bites on all her neck, shoulder and face. We went to the owner and complained. They offered us to change room or move to some hotel and promised to refund the whole amount, now from last 5 days we are following up with booking.com and they are not ready to refund. Our whole vacation was spoiled and the whole trip became about getting rid of bed bugs. This was my worst experience of the stay.

Terrible experience at this hostel. I stayed here for a short time and was very disappointed. The cleanliness was awful, especially in the bathroom and shared facilities. The shower was shared with three people and was extremely dirty. The toilets were also in poor condition. Additionally, comfort was nonexistent; the bed was uncomfortable and made noise. The atmosphere was not pleasant either, as most of the people staying there were not tourists, which affected the overall vibe. I would not recommend this place unless you are prepared to deal with these conditions.

If it were possible to give 0 stars I would give it, I arrived at dawn and the receptionist was very rude, I showed my reservation and he gave a different room from the one I booked, we were 6 people and we paid for 3 rooms on booking and even so he said we should pay an extra fee of 20 euros, we paid and the room had no ventilation it was dirty towel, terrible, PLEASE DONT GO FOR THIS PLACE

Stayed here a year ago and was terribly bitten by bed bugs. Planning my new trip to Marseille now and staying elsewhere. Reading the reviews a its clear that nothing changed since my stay. Would not recommend.

I'll start with the things that were positive. Location-wise very central and in a safe area. Reception staff were friendly. Now onto the negative.. I'm convinced that this hotel does not have proper cleaners. The room was in a bad state, there was a hardened sock behind the heater.. the mattrass was very dirty (but thank god no bed bugs) and the toilet was clearly not cleaned. The toiletbrush had white stains on it that I don't even know how that happened. There was no bin in the entire room and you only got 1 toiletpaper. Furthermore, no shampoo etc. Also, no daily cleaning, yet it was stated on booking.com that the room would be cleaned daily. And of course, no elevator.. My best advice to hotel sylvabelle is to please hire some decent cleaners or at least pay them better.
