Hotel 't Anker

Apparently we were not the first guests to have mice wondering around our room, stealing food... Be aware of holes in the walls. Do not go there if possible. Towels and bed sheets with mild stains that we chose to turn a blind eye to, broken shower, no soap in the soap dispenser and horrible sewer smell coming from the bathroom often. When we saw a mouse we HAD to change rooms, at least they gave us a bigger room. Still not worth it.

We had low expectations from the get go, but we didn't expect the reality to be that low. As well as other guests, we had mice in our room. Got the answer of "it's an old building and I never heard of that happening here". At least we got another room, which unfortunately regularly stank awfully from the bathroom. In the first room the shower didn't really work and the hole in the bathroom ceiling gave off a weird feeling. On the "good side" the location was good and we were able to reach all kinds of places by foot.

Stayed there 2 years ago. Poor 1950s style, cigarette smoke and noise coming from the cafe running until midnight or later, shared bathroom. All at the price of a 5 star hotel in Sapporo. Yes, a 5 star hotel in Japan is cheaper than this barn (no offense to actual barns)

It calls itself the oldest hotel in Leeuwarden, and budget friendly, which sums exactly up what to expect; an old hotel with rooms that are noisy due to the thin walls, very small bathroom with small shower, no lift. A sink in the bedroom with one soap dispenser. Nothing in the shower. No lid on the toilet. Bed quality was ok. Breakfast was poor. Yoghurt from the fridge was in a carton which was over its due date.

Stayed here for quite a few days during a solo visit to Leeuwarden. Small room but very priceworthy and super friendly staff. I was more than an hour late with my checkout but the staff said its not a problem.

We enjoyed the quietness of the neighbourhood, simplicity of the hotel and nice service of the staff. The beds were comfortable enough, looked clean. No soap, which was completely fine for us. However, I saw all cleaned mattress covers on the dirty ground in the morning.

Budget no frills hotel that is ideal for groups on a budget. Friendly service, breakfast included but it's very basic. Room was tired but functional and clean. Shared facilities and inter-room noise. 2 stars as it's a 2 star hotel.

Friendly staff, clean room and cheap in comparison to other hotels in Leeuwarden. Central but quiet location.

I was a guest at this hotel, so I do not know how much it cost for the room. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms are clean. Our room was up two flights of stairs, but that seems typical for European hotels. Separate shower and toilet, but there is a sink in the room. There was breakfast provided, which included fruit and hard boiled eggs, in addition to the typical assortment of cheese, bread and meat. There is a nice bar in the lobby, which is the perfect place for a drink after exploring the town. I would recommend staying here if you need a room in Leuwarden!
