Hôtel Taj-I Mah by Les Etincelles

We stayed for 6 nights and had a wonderful experience. The ski-in/ski-out location is excellent, right on the edge of Arc 2000, with easy access to several lifts and the village nearby. The hotel fully deserves its 5 stars. Rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with great amenities and thoughtful touches like daily water, evening turndown service, and sweets. A special mention to Mari at reception for her kindness and attentiveness. We stayed half board and dined every night at Table du Taj-i-Mah. The 6-course set menu was consistently delicious and high quality, with a fantastic cheese selection (Reblochon is a must). Portions were occasionally on the smaller side and service could be a bit slow, but overall the dining experience was excellent. Nicholas deserves special recognition- he was extremely attentive and picked up on even the smallest details. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice too. The spa was perfect after skiing, with sauna, steam room, pool, jacuzzi, and salt room. Massages are available but quite expensive. Ski rental/storage is available in the hotel. We booked through Sunweb and found this to be excellent value for money for what was included. Highly recommended for couples looking for a relaxing, well-looked-after ski holiday. Probably less suited to families with young children unless eating elsewhere. We felt relaxed, taken care of, and would definitely recommend this hotel

The hotel is top drawer for style, elegance on the slopes and the location is perfect for the literal ski in and ski out. The staff were impeccable, so friendly always charming and extremely helpful. They were a true credit to the whole ski holiday, I and we cannot thank them enough.

We did not actually stay in the hotel. We ate at the restaurant however and Nicolas served us. He was very good and we ordered a steak to share which he cut infront of us aswell as a fish which he skilfully deboned and prepped. The food was fantastic and when my brother got his hands dirty on the bone of the meet he brought lemon water and a towel to help him clean his hands.

We had a great stay at this hotel – it really felt like a step up from the usual self-catering ski apartments. For the price, it’s nice to enjoy a bit of luxury in a ski resort, especially when we’ve stayed in a few ropey air b&b’s over the years. All the staff were incredibly polite and friendly throughout our stay – nothing ever felt like too much trouble. A big highlight was how they went out of their way to make my girlfriend’s birthday special, helping to arrange balloons and a handwritten note in the room, which was a lovely surprise. The ski setup was super convenient: you leave your skis outside in a rack marked with your room number, and the team in the ski shop brings your shoes or ski boots to you – it’s those small touches that really make a difference after a long day on the slopes. Another nice detail was the evening turndown service – when you’re out for dinner, someone pops in to get the room ready for the night by unmaking the bed, closing the curtains, and leaving a little chocolate on the pillow. It adds a bit of that classic hotel charm you don’t often get self catered accommodation. The pool and jacuzzi were great too, with beautiful views across the resort – perfect for relaxing. The hotel is in a great location (as most of the village is), and it’s genuinely ski-in, ski-out, even for beginners. And finally, the buffet breakfast was excellent – really good quality food and loads of choice to set you up for the day. All in all, a brilliant stay – the little luxuries, thoughtful service, and friendly atmosphere really made it stand out.

I recently booked a spa treatment for my mother at your hotel. Before making the booking, I called the day before to confirm that she would be able to use the spa facilities in addition to her treatment. I specifically asked whether access to the spa was included, and the woman I spoke with assured me that with a 30-minute treatment, my mother would be allowed to use the spa facilities for 30 minutes to an hour. Based on that information, I proceeded to book the treatment online. However, upon arrival, my mother was told she would need to pay an additional €50 to access the spa, which came as a complete surprise. I immediately called the hotel on her behalf to clarify the situation. Unfortunately, I was transferred to the English-speaking female manager who was not only dismissive but extremely rude. She insisted that I could not have spoken to anyone the previous day, claiming that she had been on duty. However, I know for a fact that I spoke with a French staff member who clearly stated that spa access was complimentary with the treatment. When I asked if the call was recorded so we could verify the conversation, the manager said she would check and get back to me — but she never did. To this day, my mother has not been refunded the €50 she was unfairly charged. Frankly, I am shocked by the lack of accountability and poor customer service displayed by your management team. The experience was deeply disappointing, particularly given the expectations that come with a hotel of your caliber. As someone who works in the ski travel industry and regularly attends trade events with travel agents and tour operators — many of whom send clients to your hotel — I will certainly be sharing this experience with all of them. It’s unfortunate that a single staff member’s attitude,especially from someone in a management position, could leave such a negative impression on what should have been a special and relaxing gift. The principle of “the customer is always right” seems to have been completely overlooked in this case.

A very pleasant hotel in a good location. The food is delicious and plentiful. The breakfast has everything you need. The only thing I noticed is that it is cold outside the rooms, and you always need to have something light to cover yourself with in the restaurant and the lobby. The dinner service could also use some slight improvement.

Book early, the hotel is always busy and for a good reason, it's excellent because of the location, service and the facilities. Rooms are beautifully decorated and comfy. We've had a memorable happy stay there and would love to return.
