Tana-Jacaranda Hotel

This is a family-run hotel with a great and friendly owner and helpful, English-speaking receptionists. My single bedroom was small but clean and big enough for a 2-night stay. The room equipped fan, on arrival small bottle of water prepared for me. The location is perfect. Close to the lake, city center, banks, restaurants and supermarkets. From the balcony, you can overlook the city and see Rova which is about a 2.5 KM walk / 25 minutes. Breakfast is available as well as dinner but with advance notice. The hotel is safely guarded by a doorman 24 hours a day. The secure airport pick up / drop off (as a paid service) can be arranged. Convenient for my late 22:10 arrival without any hassles and worries about taking a taxi. For my second stay they even upgraded me to a better double room with a bathroom. Debit cards accepted.

Lovely hotel with good security. It has a mix of room types with some en suite and some shared bathrooms. Breakfast is good value and the evening meal menu is lovely. There is a terrace with beautiful views over Tana and the location is fantastic. What really makes the place special though is the staff, warm, friendly and knowledgeable they are worth staying here for alone.

My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights in that B&B and we definitely did not regret it. We took a room with a bathroom outside as it was the affordable option for our short stay. We did appreciate the airport pick up they arranged for us, we even contacted the same driver to drive us back to the airport one month later. The staff is very professional, smiling and attentive. We ordered some dishes and they were delivered to our room within an acceptable amount of time, we did even ask for some refill of rice and they gently offer them for free. The wifi is perfectly working, it is a very strong facility to point out. The view was stunning if you go to the small balcony, unfortunately our room did not have any.||||The house seems a little bit old as the floor creaks, we could hear noises from the other rooms or outside ours.||||Nevertheless, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again. We stayed there two times and with no “surprises”:) clean rooms, very friendly personnel. Ask for room 11 if you travel with 3 persons. Very spacious. I asked personnel to pick us up from the airport and later coming to Tana from local bus station. No problems and you have contact via WhatsApp. Location is good. Walking distance to center. We were returning sometimes later in the evening (after dark) and it is safe area.

I stayed there twice: after arrival and after I came back from the South before continuing to the North. Two minutes walking to Lake Anosy and great views to the Rova. Nice food & reasonable priced. Friendly & helpful staff. Rooms are basic and especially the single room is small but I just need a clean room for the night. Prices are very reasonable. Fast wifi although inside the single room it didn't always work.

I will never recommend this hotel. I had to stay there for quaratine. Their room smell moldy. There no windows, no sun enter in the room. When there's a power cut, there no power generator.||When i asked to change the room, i fact all rooms are the same. I wanted to change hotel, they said it is not possible. ||The manager of the hotel is not polite at all. She said to me that if i am in her hotel.it means that i do not have money to go to good hotel like Colbert.||She also tell me that it's me who smell bad not her hotel, i have to get a shower.

Really nice guesthouse without pretense. Cheap and well worth the money 😋. Basic luxury. Basic food but very nice. Airporttransfer arranged by email for 50.000ar. Nice service. Location very central and quiet, ATM at 200 meters, very nice and helpful staff. If you are in Tana for one or two nights on your way to explore the country this would be the place to start 😋.

The first few nights' stay in this hotel was excellent. Wifi was good. But I have to check out, and return a couple of days later. This time, I was moved to another room. Almost two nights, I could smell strong cigarette smoke. But overall, it was good and secure.
