I was on a business trip for four days and can only report the best about the Hotel Tannenhof. Best location directly at the mountain railway, bus stops and road to Braunlage (see balcony view in my last picture), private parking and above all a very obliging owner couple who read the wishes from your eyes. On the upper floor there are three very pretty junior suites, which are ideal for couples' holidays. Breakfast was prepared daily from fresh ingredients and tasted delicious. I can only praise and recommend this hotel.

This hotel's main attraction is that you can have a package that provides access to the thermal spa in Bad Harzburg. The hotel itself is a 3 star and is fairly basic but our superior room was clean and fairly spacious. It had a small terrace with a table and chairs and stairs down to the garden through which you went to the spa. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good and freshly cooked, with an emphasis on fish. There was also delicious cake. Although there is not as much English spoken in Bad Harzburg as in other German towns we have visited, one of the owners did speak English well. We felt we were seeing an aspect of German life that is not so often seen by tourists and most of the other visitors were Germans coming for the thermal baths. There were some families but mainly people were 50+. The baths were quite an experience with a variety of saunas and steam rooms, and an amazing salt scrub grotto. These areas are mixed and generally for naked use, although one morning a week is restricted to men or women. The swimming areas are for costume-wearers and are a mix of salt water pools, inside and out, and the biggest jacuzzi I have ever seen. There are also sun bathing areas, with nude options. With the hotel link, you can go in and out of spa as you want as they are adjacent and you have a token to open the back door. A beauty treatment is included in the package, I had a facial which was more therapeutic than relaxing but an interesting experience.

The hotel is extremely clean and well cared for. The staff a very friendly yet professional.|The breakfast is continental style with a huge range of meats, fruits and cereals to chose from.|Dinner in the evening is second to none with a wide variety of dishes on the menu cooked fresh to a very high standard.|Included in the hotel price is free entry into the relaxing soletherme attached to the hotel.

This hotel is very well located near the cable car and the start of the pedestrian zone.||The staff are quite friendly however it does cater to some large groups which makes breakfast quite crowded. Our side of the hotel was under outside renovation which was annoying. The price of the room included access to the local large pool and spa which was quite nice. The free parking was somewhat limited mostly due to the renovation

I took special bread as I have food intolerances. The lovely staff were willing to toast it at breakfast time without complaint.||I was really satisfied with my three night stay here - the hotel had everything I needed.

Nettes Personal! Alles in allem ein angenehmer Aufenthalt.
