Prepaid hotel stay, was told upon leaving I had to pay city hotel tax 5 euros/night ea for 3 of us website never said anything about this.
Overall, this hotel is central to everything but only if you walk. Pantheon, Trevi, Vatican, St Peter's.
We arrived Saturday, and the car service dropped us at the Piazza Navona because the driver said the streets were too narrow to drop us in front of the hotel. We walked, dragging our luggage over cobblestones and potholes. Most of Rome is uneven cobblestones. The hotel is difficult to find, but Google maps pointed to direction. Inside the reception desk is tiny, and the rooms are upstairs via spiral concrete stairs. Rooms are clean, ancient, and austere. Some rooms have showers, and others have tubs. Breakfast is a Continental-style coffee, juice, package toast, yogurt, cereal, jams, & sliced bread with luncheon meat.
It's situated next to a boisterous bar, and the last call is especially raucous. Closing time is full of amateur Italian opera singers and football team chants spilling out into the alleyways & streets. Location-wise, it's a great hotel. Everything else is not much to be desired.
