Absolutely charming, historic hotel with excellent location in the heart of Rome. Perfect location for walking distance to all the sights. Staff is friendly, kind, and helpful; delicious and filling generous breakfast delivered to the room each morning! Very clean, very comfortable bed & pillows; enough space for travelers on the go. Easy wide (and beautiful!) staircase. Loved our experience in Rome and each time entering Hotel Teatro Pace, feeling like we are living the history in this well-preserved palace. Will definitely choose this location again!

What a nice hotel. It is located right near the piazza navona, with some excellent bars and restaurants nearby. It is quiet at night too. Very nice staff and is in walking distance (30 mins) from the colosseum and vatican city. Lovely rooms too. There is no lift - no problem for us, but maybe for some.

I stayed in this hotel from 20 - 22 May 2025. I was already traumatised when I arrived there, as the Uber driver dropped me in a street a few blocks from the hotel after 21:30 in the evening and I had to ask around at restaurants in the vicinity to find my way there. This also happened one day when I had to take a taxi from Roma Termini back to the hotel. Luckily the receptionist booked me a taxi for the morning I had to check out and it came to the front door of the hotel to pick me up. So please take note: unless you ask the hotel to book you a taxi no taxi will come to pick you up or drop you off at the exact location of this hotel. ||The receptionist was very kind and helpful and even helped me to carry my suitcase upstairs to my room on a higher floor. Being scared of heights the last few steep narrow steps up to the door of my room were really scary. I realised I should have asked for a room on a lower floor when I booked. ||The room and decor is old and basic and the bathroom with mould in places was a bit creepy. The breakfast that was brought to my room on my first morning was adequate and filling. Unfortunately I had to check out before breakfast time - the receptionist did however offered that they could bring it earlier but I chose to decline. ||I like historical places and that was the reason I booked this hotel. But, this experience has taught me if I look for a nice hotel room in future not to book a room in an old hotel that has challenges with stairs etc. ||

The hotel has old world charm and it is very central located. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is very pleasant. But, unless you are need a taxi to the airport, which has a set price, do NOT under and circumstances, let the hotel desk call for a taxi for you. My taxi ride from the colosseum was 12 euro. The taxi, that the hotel concierge called for me after convincing me that there would be no available taxis at the taxi stand near the hotel, cost 4 times as much, 50 euro. Also, be aware of the fact that there is no elevator and there are four floors.

This place is very charming and really gives you that “Rome” feel. The staff was wonderful - friendly and very helpful. Rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. You get slippers as well. Not cons, but some things to think about when booking - no elevators and if you are on the top floor like I was, you will have to climb a lot of steps to get there - they do bring your complimentary breakfast and your luggage up for you. Also, if you have a private transfer or any taxi/Uber service, it is hard for them to drop you off right in front due to the street it is on. It’s also challenging for them to find you for pick up with Uber.

I stayed in a single comfort room with terrace on the 1st floor. It had a good use of space, even though it was tiny. It was extremely clean and had fantastic shutters for nighttime. The terrace/courtyard is bigger than the room! The terrace gets the afternoon sun for a bit too. (There is a friendly neighbour that gave me cheese & fruit from her balcony 😋) Im noise sensitive and I was surprised that it was quiet. I couldn't hear any street noise at all. I heard some hotel guests coming back in but once they were inside their room I couldn't hear them. I think this single room with terrace doesn't have any surrounding rooms on its walls so it's a good choice to get this one if you're noise sensitive. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful - they had to change my kettle as it wasn't working properly. I've rebooked today for another stay later in the year and Chiara was so patient with all my questions. I've decided to choose a room on the top floor to see what the view is like! I hope it's as good as my last room!

Stay away from this hotel. After staying there i got bitten by bedbugs and since 10 days and one doctor appointment struggling with them. Apparently this problem exists since 2015 (check older reviews on booking) and the hotel does nothing about it. After our stay and sending a complaint via email, we suddenly couldn’t rate the hotel on booking anymore. Besides the bedbugs, the room (first floor) had absolutely no view, the cleaning staff started vacuuming at 7:30am while moving around furniture. As the building is old you think they are cleaning next to your head.

Checked out today and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Teatro Pace. The staff were kind and speak great English. We had a double room — the bed is slightly larger than a queen and slightly smaller than a king. Very comfortable with additional pillows and blankets in the closet. The room was small but very well laid out with space for everything you may need. The bathroom was clean and had space to get ready in. My only complaint is that the shower is small but otherwise everything worked well. The ceilings in our room were probably twenty feet tall which made the size of the room a non issue- it felt huge to be honest. We had an interior room which looked over a small courtyard. The room was very quiet as the hotel is tucked away off a small side street. The location was phenomenal and the hotel itself was very beautiful. The central staircase is a large oval staircase and is quite stunning. The hotel is centrally located with easy access to all the best sites in Rome by walking or by public transport, both of which were easy to navigate. I would definitely recommend you staying here.

Yelp
Just before the pandemic happened, I stayed at this hotel for the duration of my stay in Rome, about ten days. I loved that it was central to many restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and fun things to see. Now that I think about it, everywhere in Rome is within walking distance. I've walked the whole city in those days unless I had to get from one corner to another corner in a few minutes. Then, I would take their public transportation, such as the bus or the small car rental (the one you can rent via a mobile app). If I ever come back to Rome in the future, I would stay at this location or at this hotel since it was convenient for all the fun things I've done. The staff is super friendly, and the breakfast is hearty; you choose which ones you want from their breakfast checklist, and they always deliver it on time at the front of my front door. I always looked forward to it during my stay. I loved my stay here!

Yelp
Prepaid hotel stay, was told upon leaving I had to pay city hotel tax 5 euros/night ea for 3 of us website never said anything about this. Overall, this hotel is central to everything but only if you walk. Pantheon, Trevi, Vatican, St Peter's. We arrived Saturday, and the car service dropped us at the Piazza Navona because the driver said the streets were too narrow to drop us in front of the hotel. We walked, dragging our luggage over cobblestones and potholes. Most of Rome is uneven cobblestones. The hotel is difficult to find, but Google maps pointed to direction. Inside the reception desk is tiny, and the rooms are upstairs via spiral concrete stairs. Rooms are clean, ancient, and austere. Some rooms have showers, and others have tubs. Breakfast is a Continental-style coffee, juice, package toast, yogurt, cereal, jams, & sliced bread with luncheon meat. It's situated next to a boisterous bar, and the last call is especially raucous. Closing time is full of amateur Italian opera singers and football team chants spilling out into the alleyways & streets. Location-wise, it's a great hotel. Everything else is not much to be desired.

Yelp
Great value. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The building looks its age, but still well maintained. I had a single room and it was just big enough for one person, but I did not plan on spending much time in it. The hotel has a great location. Waliking distance to most of the main sights and within 5 mins of a bus stop. I paid for breakfast. I would recommend, but note- there is no dining room. Breakfast is delivered to your room on a tray. It has a good variety of options and is filling. I didn't even eat lunch the week I was in Rome. The only thing that was frustrating was the wifi. It was very slow most of the time I was there.

Yelp
The hotel has a lot of charm. I stayed in the double room with a balcony and you get a lot of space. The ceilings are huge. The stone spiral staircase reminds you that you are in Rome though it would make it challenging if you have mobility issues (there is no elevator though they do offer to help with luggage). Breakfast is delivered to your room at the morning at a time of your choosing. The location is great and the narrow alleys are lively in the evening with plenty of good restaurants. I recommend completely.

Yelp
Awesome hotel and staff. The rooms are huge with all the amenities. Free breakfast is brought to your room. We had a terrace and it was worth the extra cost. Note... There is no elevator so if you get a terrace room it's 96 steps to the top. There is also a real nice small restaurant right next door. Stay here it is in the best location next to piazza navona.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! Amazing location, beautiful building and very friendly and helpful staff. We walked all over Rome and walked right outside to eat and sip wine. Also, the breakfast is included and delivered to your room, with fresh cappuccinos. Perfect stay!
