A hotel with a kind face (and I mean that both architecturally and in the form of its lovely receptionist). Just steps away from the old town center, there are endless opportunities for adventure. Oh, and it’s a convenient ten minute walk from the train station, at least if you walk fast. I must say, the rooms were delightful! Even the most basic room was large, recently renovated (paint literally drying as I walked through the door), and had a beautiful view of the castle. And when it comes to food: breakfast is exceptionally good with a lot of options I haven’t seen in other European hotels; dinner was delicious, and offered a lot of excellent pasta dishes (I recommend the risotto!). The perfect place to base yourself in Mikulov.

Lovely little hotel. I was in a separate building 2 doors from the main reception but that was no problem. Small rooms and bathrooms but sympathetically refurbished in old style. Good bed. Supremely quiet so had a great night's sleep. Bathroom was small but functional. Private parking was appreciated. Location neat the town centre but on a quiet side stree was great. Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise as it was a really good buffet with fresh fruit, veg, creamy yoghurt, etc. Bean to cup espresso maker. I also ate in the restuarant which was very quiet, but the food was very good. You can see that extra care has been taken in the whole place to make it a bit special.

If you are into local joints and local atmosphere, you must spend a few nights at the TEMPL while visiting southern Moravia. A friendly reception, historical rooms, excellent staff (most likely the most intuitive and friendly waitress I have seen in a very long time) and a restaurant and food that deserve more than a mention in the gourmet almanachs. |Restaurant run by Marcel Ihnacak, a well known Czecho-Slovak chef, often present in person. A very friendly and helpful hotel manager. Nothing seems to be a problem. I spent three nights with my family and will definitely come back next year.

Look. The room was a bit cramped but OK. Two things really made our stay here. The first was the exceptional service we received from the receptionist staff. They really helped us with our transport options. Nothing was too much trouble and it was service with a smile. The second was the fantastic breakfast which was included in the price eggs sausages, meats cheese, all delicious. Don’t forget to have a drink out in the back terrace charming spot to while away an hour or so.

This small hotel has my strongest endorsement, especially for it's customer service. They were extremely helpful in finding transportation during a century flood, when no Uber rides were available. Great wine cellar too, and check out the grapevine patio.

We were informed by the reception that the kitchen in the restaurant is open until 21:30. Arriving 20:50 we heard from the personel that they are closing and no food will be served. No other restaurant was open in the walking distance. Rather frustrating.

This nice little hotel is situated in the former Jewish Quarter of the town of Mikulov. In fact part of the hotel is a former synagogue. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating. They spoke English well (surprising since we didn’t meet any other English speaking tourists in the area). The hotel is clean and functional. As in most little European hotels, you have to haul your luggage upstairs. There didn’t seem to be anyone around to help. Breakfast is served in the hotel’s restaurant and was very good and generous. (The restaurant is also an excellent choice for dinner).|The one thing I didn’t like was that they required me to pay a deposit of one night’s lodging to secure my reservation (unlike any other hotel I booked on this trip) then made it almost impossible to do so. I phoned ahead with my credit card number and then when I saw no charge come through on my account I called again and was told that they don’t take credit card numbers over the phone and couldn’t explain why the first person I spoke to took it anyway! I ended up having to do a wire transfer from my bank, a tedious process for which my bank charged me $25 ( a substantial fraction of the cost of the room). There has to a better way. Ever heard of PayPal?
