We loved this place. The location, decor and staff were excellent. It is very walkable and pedestrian friendly. It is super close to all of the points of interest in town. The rooms are quaint, quiet and clean. Highly recommend. The rooms are a bit small but if you’re traveling light this shouldn’t be a problem.

Lovely place. Great value and location. Bonus: excellent water pressure and hot water in the shower. Around the corner from a lot of great restaurants - be sure to check out the ones beyond the pedestrian street. Easy to get around without a car.

I had two very different experiences at this hotel within one weekend. The first two nights, I stayed in a lovely big clean room with a great TV and a nice hot shower. It was quiet and spacious. ||I had to unexpectedly stay an extra night in San Cris, and they switched me to a different room. It was on the third floor, had one hard matrimonial bed (just a mattress on boards), and the TV was only in black and white and had fewer channels than the previous room. The toilet was in the same room as the shower, so showering meant splashing water on the bathroom floor and toilet. And it was FREEZING at night! ||So I would recommend this hotel for the first experience but not the second. ||Additionally, I didn't find out until I arrived that they don't accept credit cards, so I had to pay in cash upfront on the first night. They didn't give me a receipt until I specifically asked for it, and then it seemed like a chore.

I recently took a road trip through Mexico and ended up in San Cristobol. We just arrived in each city and looked for a place to stay. To our luck, they had rooms available and we were able just to book 1 night at a time. We had planned to just spend 1 night, but ended up renting for another night as well. I think this is a great little place, especially for the money. The rooms are clean and had everything we needed. It's in a great location, and you can walk around the main streets and get to the plaza and open markets within a few minutes. Additionally, there is a laundry mat that will wash your clothes, same day delivery on the same block. Real plus if you're on a long trip. The staff was friendly and they had parking a few blocks away, which was a real plus for us. We only spoke Spanish, so can't say what the experience is in English, but I'd go back again for sure. I've traveled all around Mexico, alwasy avoiding luxury and resort hotels. I can attest that this is a good quality budget hotel..much better than some ones I stayed in, in other cities for the same price. The one downside I would give is that you need to have a room close to the lobby to get good wifi reception..but you can always sit in the lobby to make your internet calls and message. Oh...they also have a computer in the lobby if needed.

Hotel Tepeyac is clean, has a very friendly staff, and a nice location on Real Guadeloupe. We arrived several hours early for check-in and the staff were very kind, showing us to our room immediately. Clean sheets, towels, soap, shampoo, and small bottles of water are provided in the room. The showers are amazing, and there is endless hot water! It was quiet in the evenings with just a little muffled music from the restaurant next door. The cafe attached to the lobby (Nam Nam) serves excellent breakfast. All around a pleasant stay for 2 nights!

Adorable building, very centrally located at a very reasonable price. Fairy tale interior with several nice conversation areas also outdoors. Kind and helpful staff. Rather small rooms. Highly recommended!

During our stay the Hotel has put us in a corner twice. The first time for the laundry service, telling us to bring our clothes the day after and that the express service would have given us everything by the end of the day. Unfortunately, the day after they told us that the laundry was closed (as usual, apparently) - we would have chosen a different solution instead of leaving the hotel with all our dirty clothes. Much worse, the second time at the check out: the day before they had arranged a transfer service for us for 700MXN, which they confirmed in the morning but 40minutes after, by the time of going to the airport, they said that they hadn't reserve a transfer and the price for one would be 1200MXN. As we did not want to miss our flight we could not refuse or find for a different option. At the desk they did not even understood that it was their fault, replying that "Sorry this is not an agency" or "I did not say that, if my colleagues did..." - unbelievable. If you are not able to provide some services you shouldn't!! Everyone in your position knows that

Yelp
We needed a hotel for a night and found this place on Orbitz. I tried to book it online but couldn't so we showed up in person. They had rooms available so we booked one. They asked us if we wanted to see the room first but said it was ok because we had seen pictures on the Internet. The room was 590 pesos a night and were told we didnt have to pay until we left. The place is true the pictures you see online and very cozy. The only thing we struggled with was getting hot water and there were a couple of minutes when the water stopped all together. Like most places in Mexico having constant water is always a struggle. Their card machine was also broken/out of order so we had to go get cash from an ATM to be able to pay for the room. Overall the people that work there are super friendly, approachable, and willing to help with any problems.
