Very Disappointing Experience at TerraSal Hotel
My boyfriend and I have been road-tripping through the Baja and yesterday we made a reservation at TerraSal Hotel. While booking, I specifically mentioned that we were traveling with a service dog. Immediately, they changed the rate and added a 450 peso “PET fee.”
I explained that this is not a pet, but a service animal that is essential for my boyfriend’s emotional stability. They didn’t care. They told me we would be given the most basic room available, and that regardless of the fact that it’s a service dog with proper documentation, we still had to pay the pet fee.
I asked to speak with the manager to clarify the situation, and she refused to take the call. This is not only wrong, it’s also against regulations — you cannot legally charge extra fees for service animals.
We chose not to stay there because of how poorly this was handled. It was a very unfortunate and disappointing experience.
