Well, it is 4 stars given the nature of the place - you shouldn’t expect a luxury stay in such an area. So TerraSal has nothing outstanding about it but it does the job - rooms are spacious, with hot water. Large parking inside. A decent breakfast. I would rather call it a motel, though

Very Disappointing Experience at TerraSal Hotel My boyfriend and I have been road-tripping through the Baja and yesterday we made a reservation at TerraSal Hotel. While booking, I specifically mentioned that we were traveling with a service dog. Immediately, they changed the rate and added a 450 peso “PET fee.” I explained that this is not a pet, but a service animal that is essential for my boyfriend’s emotional stability. They didn’t care. They told me we would be given the most basic room available, and that regardless of the fact that it’s a service dog with proper documentation, we still had to pay the pet fee. I asked to speak with the manager to clarify the situation, and she refused to take the call. This is not only wrong, it’s also against regulations — you cannot legally charge extra fees for service animals. We chose not to stay there because of how poorly this was handled. It was a very unfortunate and disappointing experience.

We came for the whale watching. Day 1 was great. The hotel or the tour company screwed up our prepaid second day. We wasted a day of travel, and were not given a refund for the tour or the second night of the hotel. No other reason to go to Guerrero Negro.

It is a walled parking lot so I felt my car and things were safe. The reception was too far for me to go and claim my TV remote not working. Location is perfect to go on with your journey as soon as possible.

Google
Fantastic stay. we drive down to cabo a lot and this is always one of our stops because of location as well as the kind service and huge security gate that monitors people coming and going.

Google
4 stars for the room since they no longer provide a coffee maker, microwave or fridge. Also the mini-split (heat and air conditioning system) does not produce heat. Being a cool, damp and breezy area overnight warmth can be welcome. 1200 pesos for 2 people, 2 queen size bed room.

Rooms were freezing cold because there is no heating and they leave a window open that is too high up to reach to close (this also means you hear the traffic noise and light floods in early morning. The reception laughed at us when we raised with them, then requested a deposit to borrow blankets. There was no hot water to shower in the morning. The towels in the room were not clean. Overall a horrible and very cold experience, so would recommend staying somewhere else.

Google
Great clean rooms with hot water showers!! Friendly staff was super helpful! Review edit: 5th stay here was sub par! Two girls working the desk during the day shift were rude, shifty and unreasonable. The room was freezing and the rented blanket did not help. The toilet was SMELLY. Totally uncomfortable! So sorry to see the decline because this use to be one of my favorite stops on the way down the Baja.

Yelp
I booked 14 rooms at Terrasal for a group of us this past week. I had wired my deposit for the fourteen rooms. I canceled 3 of the rooms 10 days prior to my arrival. I received an email that there would be a 30.00% penalty for the cancelation. I was okay with the hotel keeping the deposit for the three rooms or the 30.00% penalty on those three rooms. Upon arrival, the desk clerk informed me that the 30.00% penalty was not for the three rooms but for the 14 rooms. I explained that the math did not make sense. The penalty was more than what I would have paid for the three rooms, leaving them empty. Each room cost $56.00. The total cost of the three rooms would have been $168.00. They charged me a penalty of $230.00. I went round and round with the concierge. When we were checking out the front desk person told the manager that I wanted to speak with her and would not let anyone in our group finalize payment. I didn't request to speak with the manager at that point. The rationale for penalizing all 14 rooms was beyond ridiculous. I have stayed at this hotel with large groups at least four times. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Yelp
The hotel is convenient, priced right, clean enough and is pet-friendly. The *only* downside is their restaurant: they are understaffed and completely overwhelmed if more than one table of customers in there at once. Forget it if a group sits down before you. You'll get fed an hour later. Been there twice (and will return next week) but we eat elsewhere!

Yelp
This is a great little hotel (single story) with a good location right off the highway. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and have AC. They allow dogs in some rooms and have a good buffet breakfast. I will always be choosing this hotel to stay at from now on and they have secure parking.

Yelp
Easy access. Secure compound. Guard at night. Dog friendly (+100 pesos)! 640 p + 100p - 740pesos total. Wifi is practically non-existent. Walls are paper thin and cement parking compound has the acoustic resonance of Carnegie Hall. You hear every note of every motorcycle, RV, dune buggy, or sweet 6 barreled Dodge Grand Caravan pulling out at 6:30 am. If you got a big rig or sleep easier when ya got a secure place for your vehicle, this is the place for you. If you want local charm or working wifi, keep rolling into Guerrero Negro.

Yelp
I think this place is just ok. Clean, fairly new. The beds are terrible and pillows. They crunch when you lY on them like they are wrapped in bubble wrap. Very annoying. Maid stole my earrings but they weren't expensive. Rooms have poor acoustics so everything echos and you can hear neighbors. Maid cartVERY NOISY AT ALL HOURS

Yelp
What a great find after a long 12 hour drive. The room is clean, comfortable, dog friendly (for $100 ps) The Room rate was "very" reasonable. There is a TV, AC and a hot shower. I only wish there were more towels and pillows. The restaurant is open until 10pm. The food was just ok but the beer was super cold

Yelp
Basic room, clean, new and comfortable. No coffee but have a restaurant. Price is great. Wish they had some chairs in front of the rooms to sit outside but a great hotels will come back. They will also arrange whale tours.

Yelp
Nice halfway point between Tijuana and LaPaz. Clean rooms, big showers with hot water, a/c and they allow dogs for $100 pesos.

Andy D.

Yelp
Nice room. Very clean. Seems safe, if I ever review again we'll know the answer to the last compliment.

Yelp
Stay'd here in July 2017. I have no complaints. Basic services. We had a large spacious room (our two golden retrievers were happy after the long commute) with parking available directly out our door. I don't like sliding glass doors at motels/hotels but my concerns were reduced by a semi secure concrete border fence. We will stay here again, as I liked the size of the rooms, the location and the ability to get decent breakfast at their attached restaurant.
