Hotel Terrasse am See

We had a wonderfull evening and the most friendly staff we have seen in a long time. The view near the lake is breathtaking if you have nice weather, we have added our photo here we made in the evening. The food was also delicious. We recommend this place.

A stones throw from a mid-day ferry to Lucerne. The staff are friendly, patient and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are perfect; if you can ask for one with a Lakeview balcony. While the area is pricey, you can find a good meal and glass of wine within walking distance. The 502 bus will take you to Weggis where you can then take an earlier ferry to Lucerne. If you drive, after staying here you can also park in the P1 or P2 garage at the train station for a modest fee (cheaper than taking the ferry or train if you're comfortable with city driving). I will forever remember my perfect stay here, from stunning views to the wonderful amenities. The breakfast was as you'd expect, some yogurt, cereal, cheeses and cuts of meat. Don't expect a massive meal, but enough to nourish you until you can get to Lucerne and have a wonderful lunch. I will stay here again, if I am so lucky, in the same room.

Conveniently located hotel-restaurant right next to the Vitznau ferryboat & the Rigi cogwheel railway stations that offers a magnificent view of Lake Lucerne ⛴️ 🚞 🏞️. Very attentive and friendly staff at the restaurant when stopping by for a coffee. ☕️🙏

This review is overdue. We stayed at this hotel while on a road trip a few years ago. We had been delayed and called ahead to confirm our reservation. Upon arriving the manager not only got us checked in but kept someone from the kitchen to make us food! This was a remarkable hotel stay and the service was the best. The location is great, right by the water and terrific views. The manager then was there to send us off again when we left. Thank you!

Just had 5 nights here and the location is excellent right on the waters edge. The room was OK and a friendly welcome from the front desk but what a disappointment the food and drink were. Their lovely terrace was often inexplicably closed, the menus were limited, expensive and poorly cooked. There are several other much better places to eat and drink in Vitznau.

I had a wonderful experience eating here! I unfortunately miscalculated the time before headed up Rigi and needed to find a place I could quickly eat and pay before hopping on the train. They said they could manage that for me. I ordered soup and they were extremely efficient and I ended up even having time for coffee and dessert. The location was stunning, the service was quick and Giampiero was extremely kind and very polite. I’d come back again to check out other things on their menu. It was a perfect stop right before heading up the famous Rigibahn.

Great historical hotel located close to the lake of Luzern. Many rooms decorated old style bring you in another time period. The hotel's restaurant is very nice. The menu contains interesting jems of culinary like a soup with chestnuts or the local fish served with not trivial combination of fresh vegetables. The portions are plenty and there is a great choice of sweets.

A perfect base for a weeks waking around the lake. The hotel is right next to the lake within 50m of the Rigi bahn and the jetty. Our room had access to a balcony overlooking the lake, a perfect place to relax in the early evening and enjoy beautiful sunsets over the lake. Our room had a bath which was a bonus.We had two evening meals in a stunning restaurant overlooking the lake, which on a half boatd basis worked out at 35CHF for 3 courses, good food & value. The char & perch fish dishes were excellent. Plenty of excursion possibilities close by....the swiss path (suggest boat to Treib then funicular and walk to Bauen), Buses to the Stoosbahn and take the worlds steepest funicular then cable car to the Fronalpstock with spectacular views of the lake, Burgenstock worth a visit to go on Europes longest outdoor lift and not forgetting endless walks on Rigi (Kulm, Schdieigg and Kanzeli). Lovely place.
