Where do we start?? Checking in was a OK experience with a young, courteous guy but that is the only good thing we experienced. We went to our room upstairs to put our bags in (no elevator) and were not impressed. However, as we were only staying two nights, we thought we would make do. We then walked down to Fort Worth and spent a few hours exploring. On arriving back to the hotel, we found a very unpleasant smell in our room. We put up with it for an hour or so but it seemed to be getting worse. I then went down to the reception and asked for some air freshener. The woman behind the desk practically threw the can at me and said they had never had a complaint before. We used the air freshener but it made no difference. I was feeling nauseous because of the awful smell, so returned to the desk downstairs and asked for a room change. The woman again was so rude and told me that she would change the room but would not change it again. The room she then gave us was downstairs so we had to lug our baggage down the stairs again. When housekeeping left "clean" towels the next day, one of the towels was disgusting and soiled. Also, we had trouble with the toilet not flushing. Curtains were dirty, air conditioner did not fit in the window, power points hanging off the wall - the list goes on and on. As the hotel is right on the street, it was very noisy with people walking past all night. I would never recommend this hotel. The only good thing was it was walking distance into Fort Worth. Would rather have stayed in the stockyards with the cattle than stay in Hotel Texas!!!
