HOTEL THE FLAG Shinsaibashi

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel The Flag at Shinsaibashi. Unbeatable location, minutes walk to Shinsabashi Shopping district and about 8 mins to Dontoburi. A mere 6 mins walk to the Midosuji line and Family Mart just down the street. Free coffee and tea on the same floor as Front Desk. Laundromat on site. Everyone who worked there are fantastic, friendly and helpful. I was assisted by Cindy who is amazing btw, when we first arrived on Dec 5th, 2025. The rooms are fairly large for a twin bed room and they even provide a humidifier! Rachel was another front desk we encountered who is also surper friendly and helpful. Luggage forwarding is available and it was a breeze at the end of our stay. A kind gentleman assisted us the night before we checked out ( unfortunately I did not remembered his name ) and showed us th best way to get to Kansai airport. They also take the liberty to call the hotel where our luggages were sent to make sure it's going to the right location. My husband and I had a really memorable stay and we highly recommend Hotel The Flag for anyone looking for a great and affordable stay in Osaka. We will definitely stay with them again on our next trip to Osaka.

Location could not have been better; the front desk team was exceptional. Nothing too much trouble and they provided excellent recommendations. The 24-hour complimentary coffee in the common lounge area was very good and very appreciated. The rooms were clean, modern, and the king bed was comfortable. Breakfast was really extensive and very good. The bathroom was clean and had an excellent rain shower; no bathtub, but it was really not needed either. Overall, I feel this was more of a 4* hotel than a 3* and was the most unexpected surprise of being much more than expected.

This hotel was truly exceptional! Its prime location, just a 10-minute walk from Dotonbori and 6 minutes from the metro, made exploring Osaka a breeze. Our 8-night stay exceeded all expectations; the beds were comfortable, and the room was spacious. The convenient on-site laundry was a huge plus. The breakfast spread was incredible, offering a wide variety of delicious options. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and helpful, even assisting us with getting our four suitcases into our rental car. We will definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Osaka.

Stayed for 4 nights in November 2025 and absolutely loved the convenient location — right in the heart of Shinsaibashi with countless food and shopping options just steps away. You’ll never go hungry here, even at midnight, with several Lawsons right outside the hotel! It’s also surrounded by three major train stations, making it extremely easy to explore Osaka and travel around without any hassle. The staff were friendly and hospitable throughout our stay. I also really enjoyed the cosy lounge area with a fireplace, and the quiet reading nook near the laundry room. It made the hotel feel extra homely and comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Osaka who loves being close to everything! 🙌✨

5 stars, because the scale doesn't go to 6... :-) everything here was superb! Very friendly and accommodating service from all staff members. The rooms are clean and modern and very large for Japanese standards in this price segment. All amenities offered are excellent. The breakfast buffet is changing everyday and offers a lot of freshly prepared and well presented food and drinks. Definitely a recommendation for a trip to Osaka!

Staying at HOTEL THE FLAG Shinsaibashi was a great experience overall. The hotel itself is very modern with plenty of amenities — around four washers and dryers (with live availability viewable from your room), vending machines, free coffee, a change machine, and even a library area to relax in. The rooms were comfortable and spacious enough for a couple, with modern facilities and decent streaming options. The biggest highlight was definitely the staff. The hotel clearly puts effort into hiring a multilingual team — we met staff who spoke excellent English and other languages, and there’s even a pinboard showing which days and hours each language speaker is available (English, German, French, Japanese, etc.). It’s a thoughtful touch that makes the experience smooth for international guests. Breakfast was a Western-style buffet, good for those who prefer continental options. The location is right in the heart of Shinsaibashi — perfect if you like being in the middle of the action, shops, and nightlife. For us personally, we found the area a bit too busy, so we’d probably stay elsewhere next time. But for families or travelers who enjoy the energy of downtown Osaka, this hotel is an excellent choice.

The hotel was great, location is exactly what’s needed, good amenities and overall great value. If I come back to Osaka I will stay here again for sure. It is walking distance from anything you need (restaurants, bars, shopping, public transport). The area is really nice at night, but also safe. They offer good coffee all day, water and the laundry service is great. They also have a designated smoking room in the reception area. What I also appreciated is that in the room there is a telephone they offer where you can see all the info necessary, including if the laundry is available.

The Flag is truly exceptional. Its proximity to Dotonbori and a subway station is highly convenient, and the surrounding neighborhood offers a vibrant atmosphere with excellent shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is particularly noteworthy, featuring comfortable rooms, spacious bathrooms, and an aesthetically pleasing design. Complimentary coffee, water, and amenities are also provided. Furthermore, the staff demonstrated outstanding service throughout our entire stay. We are quite sad to depart, and we wholeheartedly recommend this establishment when visiting Osaka.
