HOTEL THE FLAG Shinsaibashi

Stayed in a standard double room, will gladly return. Pros - Room was clean and spacious - The toilet and shower area look great - Great housekeeping with kind housekeepers - Functioning basics - fast WiFi, good water pressure, sufficient power outlets, air conditioning, clothes hangers, toiletries, bidet toilet - Humidifier available in the room - Functioning washing machines and dryers. Convenient website to check which machines are available - Convenient location yet secluded enough to be quiet at night - No queue for lifts. Lifts don't get crowded - Great service by front desk Neutral - Soundproofing is better than average, though you can still hear door slams or if the room above is being cleaned - Window is frosted and can't be opened much but not a problem for me Cons - Insufficient space to hang clothes. Hooks on wall would've been great - No power outlet on the other side of the bed - Insufficient space on sink to put toiletries for two

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel The Flag. The family room was perfect for our needs—spacious and well-designed. We especially appreciated the large washer and dryer, which made traveling so much easier. The lobby amenities were a huge plus; having a coffee and water machine available was incredibly convenient. You also can't beat the location, as it’s steps away from endless shopping and amazing food options. Highly recommend for families!

HOTEL THE FLAG Shinsaibashi was absolutely fantastic and easily one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in Japan. The location is unbeatable — everything is within a short 5–10 minute walk. Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi shopping street, the mega Don Quijote, and multiple train lines are all right there, which made getting around Osaka incredibly easy and convenient. You really couldn’t ask for a better base to explore the city. What stood out most though was the first-class service. We actually stayed here two years ago, and to our surprise, they remembered us — which felt so thoughtful and welcoming. The staff are genuinely kind, professional, and helpful. Many of them speak English (and other languages), which made communication effortless and stress-free. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The hotel itself is immaculate — beautifully designed, modern, and spotless everywhere. You can tell they take great pride in maintaining the space. Our twin room with two single beds was comfortable and well laid out, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. They also kindly organised luggage transfer to our next hotel, which made travel day so much easier and was hugely appreciated. For the quality, service, cleanliness, and location, the value for money is honestly incredible. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again — highly recommend to anyone visiting Osaka.

Location could not have been better; the front desk team was exceptional. Nothing too much trouble and they provided excellent recommendations. The 24-hour complimentary coffee in the common lounge area was very good and very appreciated. The rooms were clean, modern, and the king bed was comfortable. Breakfast was really extensive and very good. The bathroom was clean and had an excellent rain shower; no bathtub, but it was really not needed either. Overall, I feel this was more of a 4* hotel than a 3* and was the most unexpected surprise of being much more than expected.

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel The Flag at Shinsaibashi. Unbeatable location, minutes walk to Shinsabashi Shopping district and about 8 mins to Dontoburi. A mere 6 mins walk to the Midosuji line and Family Mart just down the street. Free coffee and tea on the same floor as Front Desk. Laundromat on site. Everyone who worked there are fantastic, friendly and helpful. I was assisted by Cindy who is amazing btw, when we first arrived on Dec 5th, 2025. The rooms are fairly large for a twin bed room and they even provide a humidifier! Rachel was another front desk we encountered who is also surper friendly and helpful. Luggage forwarding is available and it was a breeze at the end of our stay. A kind gentleman assisted us the night before we checked out ( unfortunately I did not remembered his name ) and showed us th best way to get to Kansai airport. They also take the liberty to call the hotel where our luggages were sent to make sure it's going to the right location. My husband and I had a really memorable stay and we highly recommend Hotel The Flag for anyone looking for a great and affordable stay in Osaka. We will definitely stay with them again on our next trip to Osaka.

Stayed for 4 nights over New Years, excellent hotel, very high standards of cleanliness and service. Bed very comfortable, shower room massive with plenty of hot water, air conditioning if you are too hot/cold. The Breakfast is top tier with options changing on a daily basis and self service coffee. Brilliant location as not too far from Dotonbori, other attractions and the subway. Would highly recommend and when I visit Osaka in the future will make sure to come back and stay again!

This hotel was truly exceptional! Its prime location, just a 10-minute walk from Dotonbori and 6 minutes from the metro, made exploring Osaka a breeze. Our 8-night stay exceeded all expectations; the beds were comfortable, and the room was spacious. The convenient on-site laundry was a huge plus. The breakfast spread was incredible, offering a wide variety of delicious options. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and helpful, even assisting us with getting our four suitcases into our rental car. We will definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Osaka.

Stayed for 4 nights in November 2025 and absolutely loved the convenient location — right in the heart of Shinsaibashi with countless food and shopping options just steps away. You’ll never go hungry here, even at midnight, with several Lawsons right outside the hotel! It’s also surrounded by three major train stations, making it extremely easy to explore Osaka and travel around without any hassle. The staff were friendly and hospitable throughout our stay. I also really enjoyed the cosy lounge area with a fireplace, and the quiet reading nook near the laundry room. It made the hotel feel extra homely and comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Osaka who loves being close to everything! 🙌✨
