Very lovely place with a great staff! The amenities are all five star with an international feel. The restaurant is great and the food delicious, with the chef creating desserts you've never heard of before!

Stayed at Hotel The Kargil for one night during my Leh trip this winter (December 2024/January 2025), and it was a delightful experience. The hotel interior is impressive, combining comfort with elegance. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious with a good variety to choose from. The heating system worked perfectly, making it a cozy stay in the freezing winter. The cleanliness and hygiene were top-notch. A highlight is that many celebrities, including the Shershaah cast (Sidharth Malhotra), have stayed here. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kargil!

The Kargil is the best hotel in Kargil town,located in the main market area. The rooms are spacious with wifi and 24 hrs Hot water. The service is excellent and food is delicious.

We stayed at Hotel the Kargil for one night when we were travelling on road from Srinagar to Leh. Enroute Leh from Srinagar, Kargil is the local stopover place for a night's stay. For this stay, i would say, Hotel Kargil is one of the best options, or I would just stop short of saying the best option among the available ones. Nice, clean and good enough spacious rooms. From the outside, because the hotel is right on the busy road, it seems that the hotel may be a congested and busy place but to our surprise, when you go inside, you can feel serene and calm. The restaurant also offers super tasty food and the room service is quite prompt. Overall a good place to stay when you are travelling from Srinagar to Leh or the other way around.

The stay was extremely comfortable. The space, the ambiance, the surroundings, cleanliness and the service were top notch. However, the major disappointment was food. The food was so bad that i was shocked. I mean not a single dish was good or even ‘okay’. Starting from breakfast to Dinner. Even the basic dishes like jeera rice, dal fry , aloo jeera sabzi were bad. I am not picky about food in general, but the food here was major disappointment. I’ve never experienced this at any hotel bcz in hotels usually, the food is good or at least average. None of my family members liked the food. On our way back from Leh to Kashmir, i stayed at some other hotel (but not here) only bcz of the food. The hotel management needs to do something about the kitchen as it is indeed an important part of the overall experience. Also considering the amount you charge for rooms+one meal+breakfast, this kind of food is not acceptable bcz in a place like Kargil, tourists dont have many options to go out and eat.

Best regards, Bidyut I had a disappointing experience at The Kargil. The front desk staff seemed cooperative initially, but when I accidentally left an item behind, they promised to send it to me. Unfortunately, this promise was never kept, which was frustrating and unprofessional. While the food at the hotel was good, the lack of integrity in their service overshadowed the positive aspects of my stay.
