Where to Stay in Prague (Updated 2025)

"I found Theatrino Hotel to be a modern mid-range option in Žižkov with spacious rooms that blend Prague's Art Nouveau style, nicely carpeted interiors, always-clean (if somewhat small) bathrooms, a filling breakfast buffet and an on-site spa for relaxation." - Matthew Kepnes

This is a great hotel that delivers excellent value for money. The location is highly convenient, with easy access to restaurants nearby since the hotel does not have its own kitchen. Breakfast, however, is excellent—fresh, well-varied, and a perfect start to the day. Getting into Prague’s city centre is effortless, with a tram connection that takes hardly 15 minutes, making sightseeing and exploring very convenient. The rooms are comfortable, and the air conditioning works well, which is always a plus after a day of walking around the city. Overall, with its combination of a great location, excellent breakfast, and good amenities, this hotel is a highly recommended option for anyone visiting Prague.

Lovely hotel, comfortable, clean, and close to tram links into the old town. Front of house staff were fantastic, friendly, efficient, helpful. A special mention to Yuriy, who went above and beyond, and made our stay and our memories of the hotel 5 stars. Breakfast is varied and well presented. Serving staff were friendly and kept everything moving seamlessly, tables cleared regularly, never ran out of food at the serving points. A lovely stay, and if we return to Prague we wouldn't hesitate re-booking. Thank you for adding very positive memories to our stay in Prague.

We recently visited Prague for the first time, and stayed at the Hotel Theatrino, a former theater converted to Hotel use in the 1990s. The building was constructed in 1908 and looks terrific from the outside. Those with mobility issues should note that there are a few stairs to gain access to the lobby. Check-in was very easy, and the reception staff was pleasant and helpful; all spoke English. ||Our room was generous in size with a small balcony, and though the decor is pretty dated it was very comfortable. There is a tallish bathtub to step into to shower, but plenty of counter space for toiletries. Breakfast was included in our room fare, with a nice buffet served in the former theater. The room was beautiful and large enough that finding a table was never a problem.||There are many good restaurants nearby and the very convenient tram is one short block away. ||I only deduct one star from this rating because of the dated decor, but nevertheless enthusiastically recommend this hotel. If you’ve never been to Prague, I also recommend that! It’s a beautiful and affordable city to visit.

We stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. The hotel has a good breakfast, everyday it changes a little. The rooms are a bit older but don't worry everything works and it's really clean. The hotel is near a tram stop so we could go anywhere in Prague we wanted in 10-30 min. Great place to stay if you want to visit Prague!

Great location, amazing staff, amenities and bar. I had a lovely 4 night stay with no issues at all however I wish I knew the condition of the mattress prior to sleeping 4 nights on it. I have spotted the condition before my check out as I tried to give the housekeeping staff a little help and strip the bedding off myself. This is a massive issue and I am disturbed that a 4 star hotel’s mattress is in such condition. - Room 401.

Great hotel in a very good location, well connected to the city center by public transport – the tram stop is just 50 meters from the hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, especially Jurij, who was a great help to us. The rooms are tidy and clean, and the breakfast is excellent – varied and delicious. Highly recommended!

Very good hotel just outside the main tourist center in Prague. The front desk staff was very helpful and let us check into our room early free of charge. We stayed for 3 nights and had a pretty good breakfast each morning with different options available each day. The location of the hotel is within walking distance of many of the main attractions and conveniently located next to a few main bus, tram, and train spots. Overall, I felt like this hotel was great value and would highly recommend.

Nice location ; 30min walk from the city center (a good way to enjoy the architecture!), tram and train station are close. Good buffet breakfast ! Get easily crowded around 8:30. Room was simple and comfortable. Might deserves some amenities in the bathroom but overall good ! Special thanks for Yuriy for his kindness and professionalism ! He gave good recommendations and made my stay more enjoyable. 😊 Will return !

Yelp
My girlfriend and I spent 7 nights here in late July 2015, and we both agree we had an excellent stay. We stayed at one of the deluxe rooms, with a bath tube, and free soft drinks in the minibar. The check in procedure was seamless, the hotel clerks spoke magnificent English, and our room was clean and ready when we arrived. The breakfast was good, with a bit variation every day. The location of the hotel was sentral, with only a short tram ride to most locations in Prague. A important thing to remember is that you can't pay with card in the hotel bar( rest of hotel is fine, no worries) , and strangely enough they won't allow you to withdraw money at the counter to pay your tab. We also got a fabulous price for the room, so all inn all we would highly recommend this hotel for a great stay in Prague!

Yelp
Nice clean hotel, convinietly close to trams that go directly to the old town, breakfast is good, the staff is friendly. If you are used to living in a quiet neighbourhood, you should ask for a room to the back (yes then you miss out on the view - if you are on the 4th or 5th floor) but then its quiet! :-) And there are good local restaurants very near by
