Hôtel Thérèse, a Design Boutique Hotel Paris, France

"The 40 rooms of the Hotel Therese are clean and contemporary, and comfort and relaxation for the guests is the priority here. The striking architecture of this 17th century mansion draws you in. The hotel has recently been re-done and the new look is sophisticated with a hint of vintage charm making this luxury hotel appealing to many different tastes. The creative genius of Jean Louis Denjot is to thank for the bold design of the reception which is a glamorous combination of mahogany and polished marble with low level lighting to give it an intimate and serene atmosphere. The rooms are simple and tasteful, classic neutral colours of the rooms are enhanced by a warm orange glow from the bedside lamps. Generous thick fluffy towels, fresh white linen and with tasteful paintings that adorn the walls you are sure to get a good night’s rest when you stay here. Enjoy your breakfast in the cavernous white bricked dining room before heading out onto the streets of Paris to enjoy the local attractions such as the historic Louvre, the stunning gardens of the Palais Royal, and the wonderful Opéra. The hotel is situated in the heart of the Parisian Right Bank and you will find no end of restaurants, cafes, bars and entertainments venues to explore so if being right in the centre of the hustle and bustle of Parisian life is what you are after the Hotel Therese is the hotel for you." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Hotel Therese, Near Louvre, Paris, France - Explore & Book

"Stick a pin in the centre of a map of Paris and it won’t land far from Hotel Thérèse. Add crisp elegance, ever-helpful staff and small but delightfully decorated rooms, and you have what is technically known as ‘a find.’ You’re in the 1st arrondissement, with the exceptional Jardins du Palais Royal and the Louvre both a 5-minute walk away. Molière lived around the corner, Stendhal bang opposite, and the road is named after Marie Thérèse (it was originally called rue du Hazard, where gamblers gathered). These days all is neat sophistication. A beautiful open-plan reception/salon gives the impression of a small ‘big’ hotel, there are books and morning papers in one sitting room which also hosts a complimentary afternoon tea daily, and an enormous bespoke sofa in the other. Breakfast is a most generous spread which sets you up for the day – whether sightseeing, shopping or socialising with friends. Given that most bedrooms are on the small side, you can wind down the original 18th-century staircase (or take the lift) to plan your day in the salon, or recover from it with an apéritif. Highs You're perfectly placed to see the sights, within walking distance you'll find the Louvre and the Palais Garnier opera house Rooms are delightful and understated, particularly those that have been recently refurbished, and most have bathtubs Consistently kind and friendly staff who know how to look after guests Rates are very reasonable considering the central location and the hotel's high standards, and includes the tea served in the salon every afternoon There are plenty of great restaurants just a short stroll from the hotel Lows Renovations on the façade will be under way 3 March - 15 June 2025, but rates reduced during this time to compensate Some rooms are small, but still well equipped and stylish (as with many Parisian hotels) A little noise filters in from the street; go for rooms at the back The lift stops on the 5th floor; guests staying in the 2 rooms on the 6th floor will need to take the stairs The disabled room has no wheelchair access to the breakfast room in the basement, so you have to order room service No other meals are served" - Tom Bell

Where to Stay in Paris (Updated 2025)

"I really liked this four-star boutique in a restored 18th-century building; as a family-run hotel it feels cozy and welcoming, the staff go above and beyond, there’s a strong attention to sustainability, stylish decor, an incredible breakfast, and rooms equipped with a desk, Bluetooth speakers, a flatscreen TV with Chromecast, minibar, and plush bathrobes—I stayed for a week and would definitely return." - Matthew Kepnes

The 8 Best Hotels in Paris (Updated 2025)

"Housed in a restored 18th-century building in central Paris, this cozy, family-run four-star felt very welcoming—the staff go above and beyond, and I like the hotel's attention to sustainability and stylish decor. The breakfast is incredible with freshly baked pastries, artisanal cheeses, fruit, eggs, and yogurt. Rooms are compact but classily decorated with unique artwork curated by the owners and include a desk, Bluetooth speakers, flatscreen TV with Chromecast, a minibar, and plush bathrobes; bathrooms are small but sparkling clean with walk-in showers and luxury bath products. It's one of my absolute favorite places to stay in the city." - Matthew Kepnes

Google
We have an amazing time at this super cute hotel. The rooms are typical European-sized, but the layout is very efficient, making it easy to organize and find space for your belongings. Housekeeping is excellent—they come daily to make the bed, change towels, and restock anything needed in the bathroom. The location is extremely convenient. The closest metro station is about a 9-minute walk, and there are so many restaurants and cafés nearby. The hotel itself feels very cozy and welcoming. The night front desk staff truly stands out. Said was exceptional—extremely helpful, caring, and knowledgeable. You can ask him anything, and he will gladly guide you and make sure you’re taken care of. His kindness and professionalism made a big difference in our stay. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Paris.

Google
We had the most wonderful stay at Therese Hotel Paris! The location is absolutely amazing—right in the heart of the city, making it so easy to explore all the iconic sights and hidden gems. The room was spotless and super clean, with every detail perfectly taken care of. It felt cozy yet elegant, and I could tell the staff takes great pride in maintaining the highest standards. Speaking of staff, everyone I encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. They made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. I especially want to single out Veronica at reception, who was truly exceptional. Her professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness went above and beyond—she made my stay feel extra special and memorable. If you’re looking for a hotel in Paris that combines an unbeatable location, immaculate rooms, and outstanding service, Therese Hotel is the place to be. I can’t wait to return!

Google
The staff attitude surprisingly changed attitude when they knew I'm Chinese and not Japanese. Sometimes they were kind with a big smile but as soon as we asked a simple question to know why we need to let our keys at the reception, one woman and one man from the staff started to answer aggressively whereas we just asked a question without being aggressive to them. Those two people from the staff make us think we aren't the clients but they are...weird way to manage an hotel and it doesn't make us want to talk to them. The room is globally good, even tho really small. The hotel design is pretty good but won't recommend this hotel if you wanna be treated as a customer.

My husband and I stayed 10 days at this charming boutique hotel and could not be happier with our choice. I thought the hotel decor was warm and inviting. Complimentary tea time is from 4-6 PM in one of the common sitting areas (or cocktail time if you prefer). This is my second time in Paris and I found the room to be spacious by Paris standards for boutique properties. The bed and pillows were sooooo comfy (and I have trouble sleeping in beds other than my own). The hallways and stairs are quirky which is part of the charm. The hallways lights are on sensors and come on when you step out of the elevator or room. Our bathroom was lovely. I enjoy tub baths and took many hot baths while here. The tub is very large and the shower has good strong water pressure. The area has a lot of Japanese restaurants nearby (as well as other cuisines). The walk to shopping at Avenue de l’Opera is less than 5 minutes. Easy access to bus & metro system. Veronica (front desk) was always helpful with many recommendations when I asked. She and the other 2 ladies, along with the 2 gentlemen who work the desk at night, were incredibly hospitable and friendly and seemed genuinely glad to help. Without question, I would stay at this property again. The positive experience we had was a really big part of why we had such a memorable trip to Paris.

Google
We really enjoyed staying at this cute hotel for 4 nights. Hotel Therese is very central to everywhere: lots of local restaurants and cafes within walking distance, shopping at La Marais is only an 8-10 minute walk away. The front desk ladies will give you advise on where to dine. Suggest checking room size upon reservation.

Google
This was my 3rd time staying at Hotel Therese and the best visit. The hotel has been well maintained and still as charming and stylish as my first visit nearly 14 years ago. Not only is it a magical location but the service and the staff are impeccable. An absolute favorite and can't wait to come back!

The location is excellent, this boutique hotel looks beautiful and the room we stayed in was wonderful. Breakfast was also very good and has good variety. The staff at the reception was very nice, always willing to help and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Yelp
This hotel, located in 1st arr., was selected for its location, first and foremost, and it did not disappoint from this perspective. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The breakfast had a decent selection, although you might be better off just grabbing coffee and food at one of the multiple places around the corner from the hotel. Now, there were a few things that were less than ideal: 1/ the water pressure in the sink faucet was finicky at best, and the pressure kept dying out a few seconds after you turned it on (luckily, the shower offered a stable if not great water pressure), 2/ the towels, robe and such could use an update, but this can be said about the furniture and carpet too. Overall, while this hotel is positioned as a 4-star boutique hotel, it could use a refresh to offer a corresponding level of comfort or quality of accommodations.

Yelp
We loved this boutique hotel! The staff was super friendly and helpful. We felt safe, the rooms were clean and the location was great to a ton of attractions for those who are visiting Paris for the first time. We were less than a 10 minute walk from the Louvre and there were tons of cafes nearby. They had tea and snacks out every afternoon for us to enjoy and there was a nice room in the front to hang out in. They also put our bags in their luggage room the day we checked out since our train wasn't leaving until later that afternoon. It's worth noting that this is a very classic European style hotel room so the room and bathroom were small but the beds were comfortable and we got great sleep while we were there. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I had reservations for this hotel, so looking forward to it. Unfortunately for me and my cousin Joe who had his own room my brother Michael died on Oct 21st the day we were leaving for London Rome and Paris. My cousin got in touch with Virgin BA and hotels in both cities. We were given full refunds. We offered my brothers death certificate as proof. This business has turned us down between them and Expedia it has been a nightmare. No good faith. Even death apparently is a good enough reason to cancel because they will not take care of you. I'm sorry they are choosing to deal with this situation as they are. Yolanda Quintero & Joe Armendariz

Yelp
Only a few hours at the hotel but already wish I could have spent the last seven days here. Exceptional staff, beautiful accommodations and lovely area of Paris. This will definitely be a go to decision in the future.

Yelp
We were so lucky to find this hotel last minute for our stay in Paris! It was in a perfect location, very central and we could walk to everything we wanted to see! It is an adorable hotel, with the nicest staff who were so accommodating, attentive and helpful. The reviews are right that the rooms are a little small, but that's how all the hotels in Paris are -- you won't find anything better anywhere else. The bathroom was nice as well and with the wardrobe and all of the shelves and storage areas, we were not cramped for space at all. Such a cute boutique hotel, I would recommend to anyone! It was perfect. We could not have asked for anything better.

Yelp
This was my first and my fiancee's third trip to Paris. Our trip was over Christmas and we were anticipating seeing Paris in all her splendor. Both of us are retired and wanted a hotel that was centrally located to minimize walking. I did a bit of research and found Hotel Therese. The location was perfect, the price was within our budget, and we just had a good feeling about this boutique hotel. We could not have selected a more comfortable and gracious place to stay. The hotel is a short walk from the Louvre, the Opera House, Eglise Saint Roch(Christmas Mass), Le Royal Opera restaurant(delicious French onion soup), and the Monoprix market(good wine selection). A marvelous Korean restaurant, JanTchi, was just across the street(they have a Michelin Star). Shopping was almost too accessible with Rue Saint-Honore only blocks away(Channel, Dior, Hermes,...). A slightly longer walk over the Seine will find you at Notre Dame(the front façade is still intact). We walked extensively at all hours of the day and night and always felt safe. In fact, we met a young lady named Layla at 11:00 pm and talked with her for over 30 minutes about her life in Paris. Upon entering the front door of the hotel we were greeted warmly by Said, the concierge, who assisted in our check-in. The elevator quickly took us to our fourth floor room. The room, "Tradition", was cozy but large enough to meet our needs. The room was spotless, the bed was just right(not too firm/not too soft), and the bath had plenty of hot water. The towels and linen were luxurious and plentiful. We overlooked the courtyard but rooms with a street view are available. The room was soundproof as we heard no noises at night. Their staff is fluent in English(our skills in French are rudimentary). The manager, Fanny, was extremely helpful and responsive in making our reservations online from Tucson, AZ. The front desk personnel, especially Viviana, were helpful in guiding us to various sights and procuring discounted tickets to attractions. A quick story, on the first night I took our rental car to a parking garage and got lost walking back to the hotel(my phone died, Paris streets are winding, it was late at night, I took the wrong turn...). It should have been a 5 minute walk, so after 45 minutes Said was very concerned and was ready to call out the gendarmes. [Note: If you need to park a car, use Parking Public le Louvre and reserve on line]. The breakfast was scrumptious and plentiful. The scrambled eggs were special as were all the varieties of breads offered. We were late risers so we looked forward to a 9:30 am breakfast each morning. The other guests we met in the restaurant were from all over the world, most return customers. The lobby is altogether inviting with two sitting areas. Afternoon refreshments are served. A great place to watch the world go by and meet fellow travelers. We can't say enough nice things about our stay at Hotel Therese. We highly recommend the hotel and when back in Paris we will stay there again.

Yelp
Hotel Therese is an absolute gem. Each person on staff I interacted with was not just pleasant but went out of their way to make sure my experience was all it could be. They have a limited room service menu, and I sample all three of the main courses. My least favorite was the duo of prawns and scallops, this was not on par with their other two items, braised lamb and veal. Both of those are wonderful. The rooms are of course small and the water in my cramped shower was a bit temperamental, this is Paris though and many of these hotels have similar problems. The size of the shower and slight fluctuations in water temperature neither caused a reduction in my experience nor were problematic in any way. They have a lovely tea from 4 to 7, a modern and cheerful sitting room, a modest but well stocked mini bar and new safes in each room. Really a great find very reasonable. The staff is superb.

Yelp
This was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Not because of the facilities - there is no gym, no swimming pool, the place to have breakfast is a bit pokey - but because of how I felt when I was there. As soon as you walk in from the little street off one of the main streets, Avenue de l'Opera, you are greeted by the open space of the lobby. None of this over-dressed or bland decoration that offends no-one but no-one remembers...this is home, this is comfortable, this is 'comfortably lit' and instantly made we want to slump into one of the mish-mash of chairs, grab a book, stick on my slippers and just relax (I didn't do that as Parisians can be a bit judgmental and was afraid of being kicked out of what I had already appropriated as 'home'!). The reception staff were wonderful and provided that pearl, that ever-elusive Parisian trait: Service. What a refreshing change, I was there, I was paying money and the staff were helpful, smiley, busy but attentive, what a great combination it was/is. My room, number 505 if anyone is interested, was small but perfectly formed, the Kylie Minogue of hotel rooms. Again, not over-bearing deco an it just felt so warm. Of course I had a bath that was fit only for a 7 year old child, but I didn't expect any less, I was in the eaves of a boutique hotel in Paris! Overall, I felt good here, the prices are not over the top, the service is great and the night porter even greeted me with a smile as I woke him from his sleep to let me in at 2am - I promise, this ACTUALLY happened! In Paris! :)

Yelp
We had a one night stopover in Paris to visit the Louvre the following day. Location was excellent for this reason but there are so many other things to see and do in this area as well. We arrived early but our room was ready so we were able to drop our luggage and go explore for the rest of the day. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The following day, we were able to check out and leave our luggage at the hotel while we spent almost the entire day at the Louvre which was only a 5-10 minute walk away. Lovely rooms, would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
This hotel is wonderful, a true gem. It's in a perfect location a few minutes walk from the Louvre, 1 metro stop from L'Opera Garnier, and situated near 2 very convenient metro lines. The hotel is small, but lovely and beautifully decorated. The rooms are cozy with every amenity you'll need. The service at this hotel is the best I've ever encountered. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and efficient. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is pleasant. I booked through Tablet.com, so we were given some perks such as a small free breakfast and wine. Highly recommend staying here.

Yelp
Wonderful location, quaint hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We were greeted by our names as we walked in ; like friends waiting for us. Had 'little prince' toiletries as we traveled with our 8 y/o, lovely touch. Walked to many locations and also very close to public transport. Nice evening tea and breakfast. Will come back for sure.

Yelp
A wonderful ten days in this hotel. Very comfortable beds and enough room in the premier rooms. You can walk anywhere from this central location. The staff is very welcoming and will take care of your ticketing and transportation needs. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I stayed with my 2 nieces for 7 nights at the Hotel Therese. We could not have been happier. We stayed in one of the larger rooms on the 5th floor, since there were 3 of us which had one large comfortable bed and a queen size pullout sofa. Our bathroom was spacious. The extra amenities are a plus, with a large flat screen tv with ipod docking, plush robes & slippers, stocked mini bar, free wifi, and free continental breakfast which you can eat in their breakfast room or have delivered to your room. The front desk clerk and concierge were all friendly and accomodating. The location is in a safe area and is within walking distance to the Louvre.

Yelp
I usually stay here when I'm in Paris because it's on a quiet street and very centrally located. The staff is very nice and the rooms are a good size. It's really nice that the hotel is so close to Palais Royal. This is a great park, especially in the morning, I pick up a croissant at the bakery on the way over.

Evan C.

Yelp
This place was wonderful. Great location, clean rooms, safe area, helpful front-desk, and authentically French. Amazing pastry shops, cafes, grocery stores, and bistros within 5 minutes walking. Great location for seeing Paris by foot; you can walk pretty much anywhere. Free wifi. In-room safe. Great room-service for your morning coffee! Air conditioning works. Clean bathrooms. Two twin beds side-to-side makes a king (perfect for couples!). Beds were very comfortable. I truly had a great experience staying here, and will be staying here every time I visit Paris!
