We spent a full week at Tigmiza Boutique Hotel and it was everything we hoped for — calm, green, and peaceful, offering the perfect escape from the busy streets of Marrakech. One of the biggest advantages for us was precisely the fact that it’s not located in the city center. It’s about 15–20 minutes away by car (depending on traffic), but the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service several times a day to and from the Medina, which worked perfectly for us.
The hotel itself is beautiful — three different pools on site, each with its own atmosphere. We dined twice at the poolside restaurant and both times the food was absolutely fantastic. A special mention goes to their homemade bread and the incredible olive oil — hands down the best we’ve tasted anywhere.
Breakfast was another highlight, with a great variety of fresh fruits, made-to-order omelets at a live cooking station, and freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit juices.
A heartfelt thank you to Lamia, the concierge, who made our stay even more enjoyable. She was incredibly patient, warm, and helpful, providing spot-on recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. She made time for us daily, and we truly appreciated her friendly and professional manner.
The spa area is lovely, and the Tigmiza Signature Hammam was a wonderful, relaxing experience that I highly recommend. I also had two excellent massages, both performed by Khadija, another charming and skilled member of the team who went out of her way to make me feel cared for.
Another unique touch is their private cinema room next to the spa. One evening, after coming back from the Medina, we enjoyed a movie there with Netflix and a great surround sound system — a fun and unexpected treat.
Our room was spacious, featuring a huge, comfortable bed and a breathtaking view of the main pool surrounded by lush greenery. Waking up to that scene every morning felt like a dream.
A few things to be aware of: the hotel is family-friendly, so there are quite a few children around, especially near the pools and the dedicated playground area. While it’s wonderful for families, those seeking absolute peace and quiet might occasionally find it a bit noisy.
One of the pools is constantly heated and covered at night, which makes it perfect for swimming at any time of the day. The architecture of the entire property is impressive, with a charming Moroccan style that’s both elegant and inviting.
Service-wise, everything was impeccable. The relationship manager and team went above and beyond to ensure guests felt welcome and looked after — starting with the best Moroccan mint tea we had during our stay in the country.
In summary:
• Pros: Tranquil location, beautiful gardens and pools, exceptional service, delicious food, great spa, and wonderful staff.
• Cons: Can get a bit noisy with children around, depending on the time of year and occupancy.
We left Tigmiza with wonderful memories and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and charming stay just outside Marrakech.
