I was so excited to stay at this hotel and paid a premium price for one of their best rooms. Upon arrival, we got designated a room that was not the one we booked and paid for. After raising concern to the staff, we had to go back and forth with several people who really struggled to remedy the situation. This really left a negative mark on our short stay in Vienna and caused not only a headache but major inconvenience as we had to keep visiting the lobby waiting for a manager to arrive. After our first night stay in a cheaper room, they were finally able to switch us over to the room that we actually booked and paid for. Although this was appreciated, again it caused inconvenience as we had to pack our belongings and switch over. Additionally, we stayed the first night in a cheaper room and never received compensation for the price difference which is clearly shown on their website. We not only asked for this several times but also presented the screenshots to two managers and still failed to receive money back for what we got that first night versus what we paid for. Dealing with this during our short 3 night visit in Vienna was really something we did not expect, especially considering how much we paid for one of their best rooms. It was evident that this was a frequent occurrence as there were several other guests that came to the lobby with the exact same issue as we were patiently waiting to get a resolution to our problem. They charge guests a price for a premium room then give them something cheaper which they did not book or pay for. Additionally, although the rooms didn’t have significant tear, there were many noticeable marks that showed poor maintenance (see pictures below). Although this didn’t bother us too much, the atrocious lingering smell in the hallways did. Lastly, the net on the balcony (which isn’t pictured on their website) also obstructed our view which was disappointing. That wasn’t a big deal but just wanted to share along with a picture since their website does not accurately depict this. All in all, for the price we paid, practically getting scammed out the first night, the amount of guests facing the same issue, the poor maintenance of the building and rooms, and the unwillingness to show remorse for their terrible coordination, this was by far the worst experience we had at any of our stays during our Europe trip and I’d advise looking somewhere else and avoiding the headache so you can focus on enjoying your time in Vienna rather than having to argue with your hotel staff for days on end. The only positive thing about this hotel is the location but trust me, the pros don’t outweigh the cons with this one.
