Hotel Torre de Villademoros, Cadavedo, Asturias, Spain - Explore & Book

"You don’t have to be Rapunzel to stay in a tower. And this tower, in the agapanthus-adorned gardens of an 18th-century mansion near the sea, happens to be a pretty special one. It’s medieval - possibly dating as far back as the ninth century - and when owner Manolo Santullano bought it, it was an empty ruin. Since then, he’s filled its ancient stone walls with two luxurious bedrooms, a lounge and a roof terrace with stupendous views. Rooms in the house might be more orthodox, but are equally comfortable, skilfully blending original features like stone walls and timbered ceilings with modern artworks and wooden furnishings - many of them crafted by Manolo’s dad. Downstairs, a flower-decked sitting room has a library, honesty bar and sleek colourful sofas. Relax by the log fire before proceeding to the dining room - or outdoor terrace if it’s warm - where Manolo delivers simple, locally-sourced suppers. This part of Asturias is said to have one of the best-preserved coastlines in Spain. Walk to the local beach (which is nearly always empty), or pop by car to tiny, little-known working ports like Luarca and Puerto de Vega, where the fishermen’s catch is auctioned every afternoon. Inland are time-lost villages where you sample the old Asturias - and Oviedo, the region’s history-steeped capital. Outdoorsy types and history buffs will adore it here. Highs These are truly historic buildings, creatively brought back to life - we could relax in its sitting rooms and gardens for days!Tranquility is yours - there’s no habitation between here and the coast, a short stroll awayYou’re within easy reach of historic Oviedo or coastal gems such as Luarca and CudilleroAsturian-born Manolo is a fabulous hostUnlike most of the rest of Spain, Asturias is green, rugged and lush: a walker’s paradise Lows Mealtimes are late - breakfast starts at 8.30am, while dinner doesn't kick off until 8.30pm. But hey, this is Spain and you'll soon adjust your body clock to fit in with local timingsIt’s slightly tricky to find, so follow the hotel’s directions carefully - Manolo is also planning to improve the signpostingApart from in the tower, showers are all above bathtubs rather than walk-in. But they’re a good sizeDon't expect any facilities on the local beach - it's wild, rocky and wonderfully unspoilt" - Clare Hargreaves

Absolutely amazing place, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. It is very private and calm there, so you can fully relax and unwind. Hosts that we met are also friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Spacious room, large and cozy bed, fully equipped bath with courtesy kit, and a pair of slippers that were a great bonus. In the lobby area, you have a lot of space to read a book or have a glass of wine, followed by relaxing music. Breakfast was also amazing and beautifully served (egg with freshly baked bread was super tasty). I also loved that you can find fresh flowers and little decoration details all around the hotel. Outside, it is very beautiful to have a walk - they have a large yard with hydrangeas, a little patio, and a terrace with tables. From the yard or from your window, you can see a beautiful sunset, or you can have a walk or drive 10–15 minutes to some fabulous miradors, such as Ermita la Regalina. Overall experience was great and totally recommended. Would love to come back one day.

We had a truly special stay at Hotel Torre de Villademoros. The Tower Suite was stunning, full of character, beautifully designed, and with amazing views. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional hospitality. The staff were warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The peaceful setting, delicious breakfast, and historic charm made it an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

An AMAZING location for scenic hiking, relaxing, hitting a nearby (rocky) beach, having tasty breakfasts AND incredible dinners. We have been in Spain 2 weeks traveling all over and our best meal was had here. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly. This place is a slice of heaven on the Asturian coast.

I stayed here one night while walking the Camino del Norté. The staff were lovely, food was really good and the beds were so comfortable! The rooms were so tastefully decorated as well. And spotlessly clean. The only issue I had was that they don't serve breakfast until 9am, which is very late for those walking a Camino and have to be up early. An option to make a sandwich or even give something the night before, to eat the next morning on the Camino, would really help Otherwise, a beautiful stay and I would return!

This is a wonderful place to stay on the beautiful coast of Asturias. It is located in a peaceful area surrounded by farmland. This is a meticulously taken care of property with very comfortable indoor and outdoor seating areas to relax in. If traveling by bike, there is an outdoor covered garage to store your steed. An on-site restaurant serves both a scrumptious breakfast and delicious dinner. A pretty extensive menu is provided for dinner. It looked like most guests chose this option, as there are not many nearby amenities reachable by foot. The service is all-around excellent - friendly and cordial, making for a very pleasant stay.

Such a beautiful, exquisite hotel. The room was large and light filled and the bed and sheets were so comfortable. Wish I could have stayed a few days. The food was the best I have had on the Camino. I arrived drenched and muddy from a long day and the hosts were so warm and lovely.

⭐⭐⭐ 6 Star Rating ⭐⭐⭐ Manolo and the whole team will provide you with an unforgettable experience. With a very personal & empathetic approach, they make you feel welcome and at home. Of course, the location itself is already fabulous. However, you will enjoy authentic homemade Asturian cuisine (ask for Manolo’s hot sauce) and discover the beautiful landscape around the hotel. It’s a very quiet location, with lovely rooms and a beautiful garden to relax. My wife and I had an absolutely lovely time there. When we left after one week, the whole team came to say goodbye. Thank you so much for your passionate hospitality. The next time we’re in Asturias, we’ll definitely come back!

We loved our stay at this magical spot near the ocean. Our room (superior double) was spacious and aesthetic and had excellent views in three directions. The owner was tremendously helpful with special tips on where to hike, swim, eat, even advised on what architecture we may wish to visit. We arrived without knowing much about Asturias and after our six day stay we feel we experienced a splendid introduction and rich appreciation to the very diverse landscape of the area, the food, local fishing villages, archeological sites dating back to the 8th C BC!, monasteries and churches, hilltop town and more, that we are eager to return. |The Hotel Torre provides the perfect departure point for such a trip but it also be great for just a night or two. The breakfasts are beautiful as well and the young man Victor who was serving them in the attractive dining room or on the terrace is a delight. |The owner has the most beautiful flowers all over his very handsome hotel that come from a local gardener and his expansive, meticulously kept ground also has lovely plants and trees. ||The hotel is very comfortably refurbished and has a large living-room with an excellent selection of travel and photography books and several comfortable seating areas. ||Every guest we met during our stay was enchanted. We give hotel Torre our highest endorsement.
