My Favorite Airbnb: A Light-Filled Duplex in Berlin's Stately Prenzlauer Berg District | Condé Nast Traveler

"When browsing for Airbnbs for my first trip to Berlin—an extension of a business trip—I was not only looking for a place that would offer the same design caliber of the city’s distinctive hotels, but I also needed a rental that would have a good remote workspace, too. I settled on a duplex in Prenzlauer Berg, the quiet and charming neighborhood in northern Berlin. In addition to a large dining area to serve as my office, the major draw of this two-story apartment was its sweeping wall of windows and skylights. The overall effect was lounging in a light-filled glass jewel box—a particularly rare feeling during a gray winter in Berlin. Sipping my coffee there in the morning sun was almost enough to make an early bird out of me."

Hotel Transit Loft We booked this hotel for a weekend stay with my family in Berlin. The location is great, just a 10-minute tram ride to the city center. The room was clean, cozy, and warm. They offer a buffet breakfast. There’s also a luggage storage service, so we checked out, left our bags, and went for a walk without carrying anything. Before leaving, we came back to collect our things.

good hotel but way to noisy, we stayed in the 4th floor and there was an english high school which was staying at the hotel and they wouldn’t stop screaming and jumping in the floor, it was very unpleasant and made it impossible to sleep before 1AM

I wanted to stay in a family friendly affordable hotel and found this. It meet the criteria in many ways, but we started out by having to step over a drunk guy who passed out in the hallway! Needless to say that doesn’t feel leave you with a safe feeling!|The reception is open 24/7 but it’s on the 3 floor, our room was on the 4th floor and there is free access from the street with the lift to any floors. |The rooms are run down there was a hole in the wall, the sink broke and you can feel the springs through the sheets. ||The breakfast buffet, has a decent vanity of food, it’s super messy though and no one wipes down the tables between guests - and easy fix would be to have a bucket out for guests to use themselves, if the staff can’t do it.

My 5 friends and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and I would like to say that we had a very pleasant stay. Rooms were clean and tidy with prompt service. 3rd floor with large lounge/dining area and 24 hour bar which we used almost every day. Breakfast was standard, not much choice, but acceptable and tasty. Amazing location and most importantly, very friendly staff, especially one of the receptionists who always made us free coffee/hot chocolate. Highly Recommended

This hostel/ hotel worked great for our family of six. The room was basic, but had six comfortable beds, big windows and a private bathroom. Breakfast was included in the price and was surprisingly large and delicious... bread with a variety of meats, cheeses and vegetables. They also had coffee, juice, fruit salad and cake. The reception is large and is a good place to relax or research your next outing. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great, not far from the tram lines and surrounded by restaurants, cafes and grocery stores.

A real gem of a hotel. There where three school groups staying while we where there but we barely noticed them. Rooms where spartan but comfortable. The location had some excellent small bars nearby as well as having a nice little bar at the reception. Great public transport connections to the centre of town. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and 24 hrs free coffee! If I could offer one improvement a kettle in our room would be an excellent idea.

Great breakfast spread, rooms were basic but did the job for a school trip, would come again with a large group. The surrounding area is slightly rough however the hotel is in a good location to travel easily into the city centre. Would recommend to other school trips

Yelp
I use this for a group trip with up to 20 students. Plain but clean rooms. Nice self serve breakfast buffet 7-noon. Tram stop and tasty Asian, Italian, etc., restaurants a 5-minute walk away. Very nice front desk clerks. Showers sometimes difficult to regulate water temp! I've used them 15 years!

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights during our weekend excursion in Berlin. Very convenient location for tram ride which gives an easy connection to Metro line to explore the city. Though it's called a hotel, I might call it a hostel. It is mainly used by student. Our room was a very basic, small but decent room. You may not appreciate an occasional loud noise in the hallway with late-arriving guests. Complimentary breakfast is pretty good. Front desk personnel are friendly and very helpful ready to dispense very helpful information about touring in Berlin. You may not be able to find any free parking on the street, but there's a paid parking lot nearby.
