Hotel Traveltine Kyoto Kiyamachi

The room is very impressive for the price. Very clean. And for the category of the hotel, which is business and this price normally the bedding and the pillow and the duvet is on the horrible side but here surprisingly it is very good. The bed and the duvet is really good. The pillow is not so good but not as bad as other hotels in the same category. The service is amazing. The staff comes to the lift to send you off and bow like in a 4-5 star hotel. The lobby is nice and you can hang out with the 24 hours free coffee, tea, and small treats

A lovely hotel, very walkable to most of the key spots you want to see in Kyoto. We stayed here twice in our trip as the location was good for the price. The rooms were decently sized (bigger than most in Japan). The bus stop is right opposite the hotel in case you’d like to take the bus to the station. There are 3 conbini stores around the vicinity making it very convenient for a late night snack. The ambience is beautiful - quiet yet lit up with Kyoto lamps, setting the vibe for a perfect evening stroll.

Location: The hotel is at the southeastern end of the bustling area of the west bank of the river. I would say that the lively part of Kyoto on the west bank is roughly a rectangle that starts about 200 meters north of the hotel, measuring 2 kilometers north and about 500 meters west. Hotel: The hotel itself is small and without special facilities. A lobby where you can sit around round tables, where breakfast is also served, minimal continental, but for me sufficient. In the lobby there is a coffee machine, tea and juices that can be used at all hours of the day. Staff: The hotel staff is very friendly Rooms: The room we took is called a superior double. The size is sufficient, although another 2 square meters would have been very helpful. There is no storage space in the room, things are hung on hooks. There is a sofa, a chair and a small round table in the room. The shower is spacious and luxurious. The bed is queen size and the mattress is very good. Overall, a very good room.

I stayed at Hotel Traveltine Kyoto for 4 days and had a wonderful experience. The hospitality was warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Kyoto. The overall service exceeded my expectations and made my stay truly enjoyable. Thank you to the team at Hotel Traveltine for making my visit so pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto and would definitely love to stay here again!

I was very glad I booked my stay in Kyoto here in this hotel, I was very stressed about where to stay in Japan since I’ve heard so much that it’s not a tattoo friendly place. When I got here I was super excited about the warm welcome, the friendliness of the receptionists, going above and beyond sharing their favorite sushi restaurant when I asked them where is their favorite place! The room was spacious, gorgeous view, super clean, delicious snacks, coffee machine and delicious breakfast.

Good location but a few issues during our stay. Bed and pillows were super uncomfortable. Ac was blowing all the time and way too cold. Tv could be connected to internet so no streaming services. Showerhead was leaking and sprayed water everywhere. Tough to do laundry since there are only 2 machines. Other guests are not very considerate and do not take clothes out on time

We had a lovely time in the hotel! The staff is very kind, and the breakfast was tasteful. :) location is close to everything, like 5 min walk from the crowd, and near some nice and fine restaurants. Thank youuuu 🙏🏽

We arrived at our hotel in Kyoto and were very happy with the location—it’s in a great area, away from the noise but still within walking distance to many attractions. There’s also a convenient bus and train station nearby, which made getting around super easy. The rooms were just right—not too big, but definitely not too small either. Comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The service really stood out: the staff was exceptionally polite, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We felt very well taken care of and enjoyed our stay a lot. Highly recommended!
