My experience at Hotel Triton was a positive one. I had some back to back work obligations, so it made sense for me to just stay over night in the city one night instead of driving back and forth from the South Bay.
Check in was a breeze. The receptionist was friendly and kind. She offered up all the details I needed for my stay and on the little extras the hotel offers.
I booked a deal on Priceline which, unbeknownst to me, reserved the room for differently able folks with a smaller, full size bed. The receptionist asked me if I needed this room, and I told her I did not. Fortunately, she upgraded me to a room with a queen-sized bed, which I very much appreciated.
The room was cute! The decor was up to date, with plugs to charge devices on the nightstand, a television with chromecast, a modern bathroom, and trendy decor. It was also very clean. The room also has a fridge, a safe, and a carafe to fill up with their specially filtered water on the 6th floor. There is no in-room coffee maker, but they have coffee from 6 am in their reception area and in the grab and go breakfast room at 7.
The only possible issue was that the building was old (of course, it's SF) and my room was not far from the elevator. So when people closed doors or even played music in their room, I could hear it. I had to wake up fairly early so this wasn't too problematic for me, but if I wanted to sleep in, I probably would not have been able to.
One of the things I appreciated about this hotel was all of the little extras. Now, of course you can argue that you pay for all of this with your resort fee. But I've been places where you still pay a resort fee and get far less. These are the types of things that communicate to guests that a hotel really wants your stay to be a pleasant one. They have a grab and go breakfast area from 7 to 10 am. When I was there, they had coffee, tea, juice, nutrigrain bars, waffles, muffins, bread for toasting, and fruit. Most of this I could not eat (because gluten), but I was glad to have some coffee and fruit before jumping into what would be a very busy day for me.
Other amenities included a wine reception from 4 pm to 6 pm, which I missed because I did not check in until after 8, a voucher for a free item in their little convenience shop, and 10% off coupon for Cafe De Le Presse next door. Oh, and they also have a gym, which is a rarity in SF.
Overall, I was very pleased with my stay at Hotel Triton and would absolutely stay here when I'm SF again.
