Hotel Turismo Trancoso has the potential to be a great hotel, but unfortunately, it falls short in many areas. The maintenance of the hotel is poor, and the lack of staff, especially at the reception, is noticeable. The extra bed we paid for was not even suitable for dogs, which was a disappointment. Considering the high prices, we expected much more. It's hard to believe this is a 4-star hotel. It's a shame because Trancoso is a lovely city that deserves a better hotel. Overall, we recommend avoiding this hotel and looking for alternative options in the area.

Just like this hotel, my review is three stars. The room was clean, comfy and of a good standard. Breakfast was great for a continental. However, this is no for star establishment, the are no coffee or tea facilities in the room, the bathroom has a dangerously slippery shower, and the best leave room for improvement. On the whole, a good hotel, and value for money, but not for stars.

We stayed here one night and it was lovely. Kosher meals can be ordered in advance and are made in a separate kitchen. We had salmon (the called to see if we'd like in grilled or baked.) and it was delicious. They brought out tons of food (salad, potatoes, rice...) and everything was great. Service was lovely. Prices were extremely reasonable.||I wold highly recommend this hotel!

This is a very large, modern hotel in an old, small, historic city. It's a safe place to stay. However the hotel adds nothing, in my opinion, to the experience of staying in Trancoso.||||The rooms are furnished fairly inexpensively and in a modern decor. Given the immense size of the dining room, I am guessing that the hotel tries to book large tour groups traveling by bus (or with multiple buses). ||||The staff are competent and friendly. The breakfast buffet is your average, basic Portuguese breakfast; nothing remarkable, neither good nor bad. The location is convenient to the old city.

This is a very modern hotel with large comfortable rooms on three floors , The foyer is on the mezzanine and has nice comfortable couches . This is where the restaurant is situated as well plus a nice balcony seating area with umbrellas . All rooms have a balcony and good sized bathroom with bath / shower combination . As we were part of a group , we had a buffet evening meal with a choice of fish / pork / beef stroganoff with sweet potato chips and rice so I cannot really comment on what the restaurant fare is like for other dishes . Breakfast had a great range of fresh fruit , pastries , yoghurt and cheese . No fry here . Another day we had coffee and snacks and , again , the variety was good but the bread for the sandwiches was hard . Now maybe that is the norm as I found the bread to be the same in other places as well . There is an outdoor covered pool , steam room and sauna . One negative , the receptionist on check out day was very rude and unprofessional . Some clients queried extra charges on their bills and this lady seemed to take it as a personal insult . She also passed comments to other staff who were within earshot so a customer relations course wouldn't go amiss

A gem of an hotel. Perfectly maintained. Rooms are well appointed. Everything looks spitting new.||Kind and helpful staff. A nice indoor pool. Pity the place does not have an outdoors pool. ||Breakfast is good. Beds are very confortable. A really good hotel.

This is a modern hotel, with a large echoing lobby. It was very cold in March. Our room was a good size and well designed, but one wall was wet in the rain. (We could see that neighbouring buildings had the same structural problems.) The restaurant was disorganised and the food was poor. The staff tried hard to be welcoming, but they couldn't really make up for the basic deficiences.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and the beds were so uncomfortable that it was necessary to take multiple blankets and pile them on top of the sheets so that I could make a rock solid mattress slightly more comfortable.Another strange item was the TV in the room. It was small and didn't make any sense in the space. The hotel was very dark and dimly lit - I was wondering if they needed to save energy or if they were hiding something. The elevators stopped and opened randomly at different floors and there's an overall vibe of emptiness. The staff was nice and tried to be accommodating but the space is simply too strange.
