Hotel Ullensvang

Had a wonderful stay with my wife. We chose the place because of it's location with a stunning view, their pool and access to hikes in the area, despite it being November. Parking was tight and not included (a bit odd in such a remote area). Breakfast buffet was super and service in the restaurant sufficient. Dinner buffet was large in selection and left us very full. Price is a bit too over the top, especially when wine is 5 times that of Winemonopoly. Just goes to illustrate that they partly take on their privilege of lacking alternatives around a bit too far (as with parking). Love the pools and with hardly anyone going there it felt like private. They have a separate adults section and that is well appreciated! We love the relax room with water and fruits, a welcome surprise. Overall it's a great place to stay and we loved more or less everything, although it is on the more expensive side. Next time we will rather stay in Odda or a B&B in the area.

Lovely historic Hotel in need of some attention. Rooms are nice with views of the fjord. They get warm without air conditioning. On-site restaurant is excellent with wide-ranging options in Buffet style. Swim through pool was very pleasant. Sauna also very nice. Hot tub was really a warm tub. From the hotel we went up the road into the national Forest. A challenging steep 11km round trip hike awaits with beautiful views of the town.

Good service , very nice hotel and location. nice rooms and good beds. short drive to trolltunga and right out the door to the monks' stairs and the queen's path. Short way to food shop bunpris and 2 pizza/cafe resturants , cider farms. Amazing good dinner buffet i recommend this. the swimming pool is great with a sauna for adults and an outdoor pool. the hotel has many small rooms where it is possible to relax with coffee and drinks. you can sit both outside and inside. the bar opens at 21:00 in the basement and has good seating. the gym is large and has a lot of good equipment to train your body.

We stayed at Hotel Ullensvang for a weekend to celebrate a 40th birthday. The surroundings are absolutely stunning, the hotel was clean, and the food in the restaurant was excellent — both breakfast and dinner were of very high quality.||||However, our experience was affected by the fact that the adult spa area was closed until 5:00 PM for a private event, without any prior notice. This was disappointing, as it was the main activity we had planned for the day. The family spa was open, but it’s not really the same atmosphere when you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing experience.||||The room itself was of somewhat older standard — the lamps felt loose, there were electrical sockets sticking out from under the bed, and the bathroom and showerhead could use an upgrade.||||Overall, a beautiful location and great food, but a few details and communication issues made the stay less enjoyable than expected

The hotel itself, along with its surroundings, provided one of the best experiences my family and I have had in a long time. The outdoor swimming pool overlooking the fjords, a billiards room for the kids, an amazing breakfast buffet, and traditional art throughout the hotel—it was just incredible!

We would give this place more stars if we could! The room was amazing! With heated floors in the bathroom and hotel robes and slippers to use. We loved the pools and the views from the sauna. Highly recommend taking a dip in the fjord and doing a cider tour as you explore the area. Breakfast was delicious and had so many options.

The hotel is very comfortable and the views are hard to find anywhere else. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The best part is food: we had breakfast and dinner included and it’s one of the best we ever had in any hotel. There are plenty of amenities for swimming and exploring: an extraordinary pool, boats, hiking trails all around. Great value for a very cool vacation place!

I see this hotel as more of a resort. Lovely rooms, unbeatable views, exceptional service. Very large and tasty breakfast buffet is included with the room. We also included the dinner buffet with our stay. It too was great. Their pool is very different with indoor and outdoor options. You have two areas to enter the fjord to swim. In front of the hotel and way to the enf a nice little beach.

If you are traveling and jet-lagged and need some coffee early in the morning, don't expect to find any here.  It is not available in your room and not available in the lobby and not available anywhere nearby.  You'll have wait until 7:00 AM when the restaurant opens.  That being said, everything else about the hotel is perfection: the room, the interior decor, the Fjord views, the service, the food- perfection.   You'll enjoy your stay here.  Just be sure to sleep in late if you like coffee. (If you're not a coffee drinker, they will bring you hot chocolate @ your table for your to-go container, and you'll be happy as a clam!) Oh, there is one tiny negative: the toilet paper, you'll come nose to nose!
