Hotel Unicus (Krakow, Poland) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A stylish boutique hotel converted from a row of old tenement houses. Well-appointed bedrooms range in colour from green to gold and boast state-of-the-art shower rooms; the Double Deluxes, overlooking Florianska Street, are the best. The bright, barrel-ceilinged basement restaurant serves a modern menu." - Tablet Hotels

We booked two rooms which we stayed in 304 and 305 which were on the third floor. Not sure if we were just tired due to all the walking but we had no issues with street noise as others have mentioned and slept well the three nights we were there. We arrived early on the Friday morning and had a late pick up on the Monday evening. The hotel has a luggage room which we were grateful for as could leave our luggage there whilst we did some site seeing before checking in and after checking out. The rooms were two singles, they could do with a little up date of which whilst we were there they were redecorating rooms on the first floor so this is in hand. The ensuites were big and lovely. The hair dryer sadly kept over heating so drying our hair took way longer as it would only work for around 30 seconds then had to leave it a couple of minutes before trying again. Location wise, couldn't fault it. They could do with getting better toilet facilities as before we checked in and after checking out, the only toilet available was in the fitness centre which was small and only had one toilet. This is situated on the first floor and you needed to get the key from reception each time. Not ideal. Staff were great and would stay here again.

Decent rooms, excellent cleanliness, and truly friendly staff. The real problem is the noise in the rooms, due to bells ringing at night, trumpets, and drunk Englishmen. The hotel is definitely aware of the problem; it's impossible not to hear. What I can recommend is installing double-glazed windows or less expensive ones. Otherwise, it's a good hotel, but rest is the first service we should provide to a guest.

Great stay here for our first trip to Krakow. Breakfast faken at their sister hotel, 1 minutes walk away and it was superb with tons of choice. Location great for a stay in the old town. Staff are friendly and helpful. They arranged a very generous and tasty brunch for us to take when we had a very early pick up for Auswich. Room (106) very spacious with huge comfy bed. 100% recommend

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in the heart of Kraków! The location is perfect – just a short walk from the Main Square, Wawel Castle, and many great restaurants and cafes. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. My room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of fresh options each morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kraków – I’ll be coming back for sure!

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a really great stay. The location is amazing, right in the heart of the Old Town and our room was very comfortable. The first room we were given had a small double bed and I was worried we wouldn’t sleep so I asked if it was possible to change and we were able to move into a bigger room straight away. The lady on reception was so helpful and the new room was ideal. We slept so well, it was amazingly quiet for a city centre and the room was well equipped with a fantastic shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was in a nearby hotel, only a minute away, and there was a great selection of food available and very nice service. We loved Krakow and were delighted with our chosen hotel.

Hotel Unicus is an excellent choice for a short stay in Kraków. The location is unbeatable – just a few steps from the Main Market Square, yet tucked away on a quiet street, so you get both convenience and peace. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The rooms are modern, spotless, and very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious with a great variety. It’s the perfect base for exploring the city. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Simply horrible. No housekeeping, fresh towels, bottled water or toilet paper. Hotel desk clerk, who shall remain nameless (I know his name but wish to shame him no more, as he may well be shamelss) tried to blame us and say we left the DND sign on. To put it mildly, this statement was untrue. I guess he is unhappy with his job. Vodka bottle in minibar was obviously unsealed and filled with water. Dingy room with noise from night club across the street until 4 AM. IKEA furniture. No glasses, pencils or soap, other than empty dispenser in shower. Intermittent internet with dial up speeds. No waiters in breakfast room. Four stars? Perhaps in Soviet times. Any response from management is likely to be insincere.

Yelp
This hotel has great reviews on trip advisor. I would actually give this 3.5 stars for this stay. Minus half a star because my "non smoking" room smells vaguely of old smoke and the bathroom is slighty musty because there is no ventilation system or window to open. I have relatively positive review. The location is good only a few minutes from the main square, but its right across the street from a gentle men's club. Some of the tripadvisor reviews noted the noise from the club, but I found it to be muted. I got a single room. It's a good size in comparison to other European hotels I have stayed at. The room looks faily clean and the bathrooms are surprisingly very modern. The faucets are so stylishly modern that it took me several minutes to determine how to turn it on. There is also a mini bar in the room. I think it's a bit odd that there is no sheet on the bed separating you from the duvet, but maybe that's common in Poland? There's free wireless, but it becomes very slow when people start logging in. They also have been having issues with the router recognizing iPhones. I was able to get wireless last night, but have been unable to this morning. The gym is extremely small. One elliptical and one cycle. The concierge did recommend running outside in the green areas of the city. He said it was fairly safe. The staff speaks English, but the front desk doesn't keep electrical converters- just some phone chargers. Breakfast is tasty, but not entirely sure it's worth 50pl.

Yelp
The Unicus hotel is the hotel where i stay on a regular basis in Krakow whilst working there. Comfortable rooms, nicely designed, clean and goood shower is all i looking for in a hotel. Oeps i forgot to say also good wroking Free internet acces. Breakfast is superb, table of all kinds of bread, salads, sweet, meat, salmon etc. Coffee as you want it, for me nice double espresso to wake up :). One can order eggs any style or smoothies.. For me the energy smoothie is allways a great start of the day :). Last but not least is the great service of the people working in the hotel. All deserve a compliment for the way they serve the customers !! I recommend this hotel as long as there is allways a room available for me :) I can say this is not allways the case nowadays. Arggggh.

Yelp
5 star digs at 3 star price. Start with that. Location, right near the center of old town, surrounded by food and drink and nice shops. Heated bathroom floors, nice sized shower, clean as a whistle. Wonderful room, lots of space, storage, well decorated and appointed. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, made one feel welcomed. Breakfast staff were smiling and welcoming and always right near if you wanted something. The breakfast offerings, everything you could ask for, and don't hesitate to ask. They want you happy and satisfied and will work to that result. Enjoy!
