I came here for two days with my friend. It's a lovely hotel overlooking the fyord, right be a stunning fountain. You're surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, and there's loads of hikes around the hotel to choose from. Where my rating wasn't five, the star would be down to reception staff and lack of options for vegans. The revwption staff I found cold and a little clueless, and when asked anything, they had to keep checking with another colleague who had to check whatever was asked with another colleague. It was frustrating. In terms of food, there's the choice of al la carte or buffet. Al la carte has one vegetable option and buffet. Anything that could have been vegan was covered in a cheese sauce or feta or something dairy. We had emailed the hotel twice to give them the heads up, and was assured it would be fine. Upon arriving, there was a lot of " you need to speak to the kitchen." The kitchen would then tell us they should of had notice. I'm looking at these two departments like do you people not talk to each other. But the onus was further on me to communicate between reception and kitchen, although I had explained and given them prior notice. The chefs try to make it up by arranging a plain spaghetti for the buffet. When there was an entire buffet laid out for everyone else. Regardless, i was an afterthought, and I did not like this feeling. ||Pros: |The room I stayed in was lovely. We had a fyord facing room.|The spa is beautiful, and the therapists are great. ||Cons: |Expensive |Cold n clueless receprion staff. |Very very poor vegan/vege options. No regard for this either. |Complaints do not go anywhere. |Cruise ships come here alot if you're unlucky to have a cruise ship turn up, your idyllic break turns into a tourist trap nightmare with thousands of people.
