Hotel Union Square

Booked a room for the night it was terrible. We walked in what appeared to be a quaint establishment but only to my sis the place has no air. The tiny was twice as hot. Not to mention when I walked in the bathroom I had to walk in the close the to reach the toilet. The from the window that didn't even stay open was disappointing I was looking at the side of another building.

Great value. The location is unbeatable—close to public transit, so many different restaurants, and a quick walk from tour meeting points. The room was comfortable, and although you can see the age of the building, they did their best in providing modern amenities. My only complaint would be the noise—we were in a corner room, and could hear everything on the street. The staff was kind and extremely helpful.

Overall the staff was very courteous and friendly, and accomodating to the best of their abilities which my wife and I really liked. This was our honeymoon and we picked this hotel in particular because of the amazing pictures and location, upon arrival we where extremely disappointed with the quality of rooms which the rough looking furniture in the rooms, to the trashy looking bed sheets with the room numbers written on them. Once again the staff was great with their response and we where moved to a different room where the furniture didn't look like it came back from WWII but it was still in poor shape, and once again pictures of the room looking a total opposite of what we walked into once again, needless to say we where feed lies by what you advertise and therefore not willing to recommend the hotel to anyone looking to travel to SF. Room quality need to improve a lot, the staff once again was amazing and that's the only positive I can say about our stay.

Excellent location, within a stone's throw of Union Square and a block from a cable car turning station. The Hotel is clean and modern in the fashionable boutique style with modish decor and a relaxed feel. The staff were all friendly and can offer helpful tips on navigating and how to get the best from the lovely city of San Francisco. Our room was small but the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with upgraded fixtures and fittings. We enjoyed a very pleasant 4 nights at the Hotel Union Square in April this year when visiting from the UK and would recommend this Hotel to family and friends.

The place located in the heart of Downtown SF. The overall place experience was not bad. The price per night was average. Pros: Nice room, large bathroom, very clean, location, front desk service, free evening amenities Cons: The room I was staying don't have a centralize AC therefore it's very loud, not very upfront with the hidden fees (they told me about the fees after they swiped my card) Side note: They charged me double after I check my bank statement. It takes about 2 days to resolve this issue but the employee was very understanding and polite. They refunded my money within 48 hours. So, keep an eye on your statement after stayed at this place.

This hotel exceeded our expectations by a long shot. We stayed in a junior suite for 6 nights. The location is perfect. Room is HUGE with a HUGE walk in shower. Room was very clean. Mini fridge in the room eventhough it doesn't state that on the websites. Staff was great. Wine hour was a plus. Best trip EVER! Will 100p% be back!

The hotel itself is very cool. Winding halls painted different colors. Feels like a different world. Staff was courteous but not super friendly. The room was small but clean. Really only as big as the bed itself plus room to walk around it. Window overlooked the parking lot with a view of the building next door. Fortunately it was a cool building. Overall, a decent and eccentric hotel in an excellent location.

Spent 3 night here and this hotel is immaculate, great decor and service. Lovely room. Was undergoing some work on the outside during our visit and was covered in scaffolding but this didn't spoil the view or our stay. Excellent location and the early evening wine and gentle jazz session in reception for guests every day is a lovely touch.
