Located on a side street near the piazza and around the corner from the shopping street it has a street level restaurant Brillo and a piano bar, and gelato shop. The taxi stand was a short walk. The staff was accommodating and helpful |Enter from the street to a short flight of stairs down to the small lobby. There is a lounge to the left and entrance to the bar. |Throughout the hotel are black shiny floors, black walls, mirrors and mysterious sets of stairs. Everywhere you turn there are black stairs. The halls are narrow and black. Dim lighting gives a sensual ambiance. It goes well with the burlesque show in the late evening at the piano bar. We stayed pre and post cruise - 2 nights each time in a standard room. Our companions had larger rooms. All were quite pricey. Our first room was octagonal shaped, double bed and small enough to touch the walls from the bed. There was barely room to open the suitcase except on the bed. There was nowhere to put anything. The second stay was slightly larger with a wall of mirrors and a mirrored ceiling. There was an alcove for the luggage but nowhere to hang towels except on hangers. At least we could walk around the bed. Lighting was also an issue as the floors were black and the ceiling light was not working. |Breakfast was excellent on the top floor with a great city view. Again you had to climb black stairs to get there. It was served until 10:30 am which was great if you had stayed out late at the show. |Overall the hotel was not a good fit for us. Much too expensive and the size, stairs, and darkness was not my style. (I didn’t pick it). Of a group of 7, only one couple would recommend it.

The staff were friendly overall, though I wouldn’t say the reception went the extra mile. The cleaners and porters were lovely, but we weren’t given any useful information about Rome — the only suggestions were the two restaurants owned by the hotel (both on the expensive side). The building itself is unusual, with its own quirky charm thanks to its different uses over the years, but this also makes the rooms a bit odd. Appliances feel dated: next to the bed you’ll find five different switches that still don’t control all the lights, and if you’re a couple traveling together, only one of you can plug things in unless you’ve brought an extra adapter. No coffee or tea machines in the room — though there are big mirrors on the walls and ceiling 😉 (worth reading up on the building’s history). Positives: Shower pressure and temperature: excellent. Bed: very comfortable. TV: Italian Sky Digital plus a handful of international channels (but no app streaming). Negatives: Bar and restaurant prices are “American tourist” level. Rome in general seems to be heading this way, but for what we paid vs. what we got, I doubt we’ll return or recommend this hotel. The gym… well, calling it a gym is generous. It’s a funny experience though — if you’re gym-conscious, give it a go, but be ready for a heatstroke risk depending on the season. Think La Grande Bellezza opening scene vibes. Extra note: The tourist tax is paid when leaving the property, and as it’s a 4-star, the charge is higher.

We recently stayed in Hotel Valadier for 3 nights. The trip was a girls trip for a friends 40th and we booked via EasyJet Holidays. We were initially booked in a different hotel which became unavailable, with EasyJet moving our booking to Valadier. And we were not disappointed. ||The hotel is stunning. Our room was on the 5th floor though we had to go along some corridors and down some stairs to get to it - we assume the next door building was maybe purchased at some point and they’re not entirely joined up. However, this was never an issue and on arrival the porter delivered our large, heavy suitcases to us. ||The room was bright, fresh and airy with a very welcome air conditioning unit. We had complimentary water on arrival and access to a mini bar in the room which we chose not to use other than to store our own water. The complimentary water must only have been on arrival as this was never replaced daily with housekeeping. |Only small negative was that despite our room being a triple there were only 2 waters on arrival. We had also requested ahead of time, and paid for, Prosecco for the birthday girl - there were also only 2 glasses in the room. But after mentioning this, we were given the extra. ||Breakfast is served on the roof terrace and this is absolutely stunning. A stylish space, a great choice of delicious food and an excellent way to start the day. We also spent an evening on the terrace with cocktails - thoroughly enjoyed the ‘shall we dance’. ||We spent most afternoons between our sightseeing and getting ready to go back out, at the wee bar outside, next door to the hotel. We were given a 10% discount there as hotel residents. ||The hotel is super close to the Spanish Steps, and despite how it looks on the maps is also walking distance to many attractions including Trevi Fountain, Victor and Emanuele monument etc. We walked to the Colusseum easily too even in the high 30s °C heat.

Hmmm... Rooms are tiny, barely enough room to get your bags in the door. It's wonderfully decorated in the lobby, dinning, and lounge area but is not very spacious the rooms. Also don't get a room on the first floor it's like living in a dungeon.

Good 4-star hotel in the heart of Rome. Location is key here, because you are close to Villa Borghese and Piazza del Popolo, not too far away from Vatican City, Pantheon or the Fountain of Trevi.

Google
Perfect location to see the historical sights of Rome. Breakfast was fantastic both in variety and location. Three or more restaurants, bars to a meal and drink. Tourist friendly prices, the restaurant manager could not have been more helpful or friendly. Highly recommended if you are travelling to Rome.

A nice location in the heart of Rome.Next to shopping areas and Spanish steps. The negative things about the hotel are: The room rate is very expensive for the size of the rooms.IE more than 500 hundred dollars per night for 16 square meters. It is actually a 3 stars hotel and not 4 at all. Breakfast on the rooftop was good and the servants were very cordial and helpful and in particular one servant named Marah who was very helpful and polite and always meet us with a smiley face. My husband and I were disappointed by our experience in this hotel.

A very well located hotel in a busy street o Rome, close to various attractions as the Leonardo da Vinci museum, the Fontaine and various stores, perfect for people wanting to explore the city. The hotel is feeling with a stunning collection of art work and some fashion items, the regular rooms are bit small compared to others I’ve been too and at the time of my stay there was some issue with the air conditioning and was it’d get sweaty hot at night, in my last night I was provided with 1 of the only 4 mobile air conditioners units they have. Summing up, it’s a beautiful hotel, great decor and minor inconveniences.

Yelp
We booked not one, but THREE suites for two nights. As this is a four star hotel, our expectations for service were not unreasonable, considering that we have stayed in similarly ranked hotels around the world. 1. During check-in, the man told us breakfast was included. We were surprised, and he verified with my husband that it was included. Imagine our embarrassment when the next morning, we are informed as our family is eating that it was not included. When we were leaving the hotel, we told the SAME man who checked us in & he lied to my husband's face that he did not say this. When I also told him that I witnessed him saying this, he shrugged, said, "My mistake." And refused to take the charge off our bill, claiming he had no authority & he would talk to the manager. We had to leave for a private tour, so could not wait around. The charge is still on our bill. 2. BOTH nights, LOUD music/karyoke came from the hotel lobby into ALL our rooms, two floors higher, until three in the morning. When I went to complain/ask for music to be turned down as it was 3am, man behind the desk (different man this time) tells me, "It is a private party, I can move all of you to different rooms." ?!? No. We don't want to pack and move at 3 in the morning! We want to be able to sleep! Do NOT stay here. I have had better experiences at a chain hotel--I have no idea how they received 4 stars. They do not care about the comfort of their guests, nor even common hotel customer service--what kind of hotel has loud parties that disturb your paying guests until 3am?!?

Yelp
Terrible avoid at all costs. Poor service, room lacked basics, hangers, tissues, hair dryer, hard pillows, uncomfortable bed, noisy area, no sound insulation windows, a/c and electricity broke first night.

Yelp
Hotel Valdier, in my experience, had very nice, well-kept rooms. The maid service offered a decent quality breakfast but overall, their services were mediocre at best. Somewhat disappointed. I did enjoy their location though. On the other hand, the hallways and stairwells were extremely dimly lit which made it nearly impossible to be able to see your surroundings. Not only was this straining on the eyes but it also made it a hazard and dangerous to navigate walking through at night. Lastly, the fragrance used in the lobby was beyond offensive. With the amount of fragrance fumigating throughout the common areas, it was astounding that their staff was even able to breathe at all for that matter. I will likely not be returning for another poor experience.

Yelp
Spent 3 nights at Hotel Valadier in April, and it made for a great home-base in Rome. The location is great, right next to the Piazza del Popola and on the main shopping street Via de Corso. These are great not only because it makes it easy for you to get to other sights, but it also makes for a great point of reference when you're making your way back or taking a taxi. The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and Piazza Novano are all a reasonable walk from here and there are plenty of great places to eat nearby. As for the rooms, keep in mind when things were built and don't expect an American sized hotel room. With that said, these are actually a pretty good size for Europe and the rooms are very clean. I would say to ask for a higher level room if you're a light sleeper since you will hear noise from the bar below until about 3-4am. Also, we were told that they do not turn on the AC until may, but you can still turn the fan on. The rooms here also come with breakfast on the rooftop in the morning. It's a nice relaxing place to start your day and there are a decent amount of options on the buffet.

Yelp
Really nice location up near the Piazza Del Popolo and just minutes from the Spanish steps. I had not stayed at this end of the city before but found the valadier to be a welcome respite from my day long passagiate. The roof top bar has an excellent breakfast included and is open late at night for digestivi. While my room was quite small - it was clean, nicely cooled and otherwise fine for the little time I spent in it. Pleasant staff and would stay again.

Yelp
This was a beautiful hotel in a great location. It sits on a cobble stone little street close to shops, walking distance to the Spanish steps, trevi fountain, and many restaurants. A short cab ride to Vatican City and the Colosseum. The hotel room was beautiful, with many windows that open up to see the area and adorable other buildings in Rome. Fresh flowers in the room and a little plate of fresh strawberries, chocolates and cookies upon entering. We ate at the restaurant next door on our first night in town and I definitely think the pasta was one of the best dishes I had throughout my stay in Italy. The breakfast that the hotel offers daily is gorgeous. A beautiful green view from their rooftop. The foods were delicious and fresh, the servers were sweet and attentive and the cappuccinos were perfect. It was such a delightful way to start the day by having a nice little breakfast with some fresh air. This was our first stop in Italy and definitely set the tone for the rest of the trip! Grazie!

Yelp
Lovely hotel, and probably the most "modern" one we stayed at in Europe. It was very different in the design of our room. I can't help but think it reminded me of being inside a sauna, but one that is air conditioned. Does that make sense? Basically it had all cedar wood paneling, but not in a tacky 70's way. The bed was comfy enough, and there was a cute balcony off the bedroom. I liked the bathroom because it was spacious, where it was almost set up like a hallway. You could stand at the sink, go to the shower, or close another door to the toilet. Plus, this was the first shower that was roomy! I also LOVED the rooftop restaurant. That's where the complimentary breakfast was served. I kept thinking I wanted to go up for a drink after we were done with our day, but we ended up being too exhausted. Bummer, as it was so pretty during the day! The breakfast itself was very good too! Free wifi!

Yelp
Didn't stay here. Went to get drinks . Took 35 mins. We had to go to the bar to order, and get them ourselves. Margarita and cosmo- 18 euros a piece. Weren't good. By the way the staff of 2 works their ass off .... this is a management problem for under booking staff! Shame on you bad management!!!!!!!!!! & ownership!!!!!!

Yelp
Worst customer service ever!! We arrived at the hotel and the one and only check-in representative was on the phone for 15 minutes (5 of which was spent trying to confirm one email address!) while we were patiently waiting for some acknowledgement. Would it hurt to apologize for the wait? Would it be so difficult to put the caller on hold for two seconds and let us know she'd be right with us? After ignoring us for 15 minutes she hangs up the phone and acts as if everything was smooth and dandy. I have never met a ruder hotel receptionist in my life. Oh, and the rooms are tiny and smell like old laundry. I would recommend staying elsewhere when visiting Rome. Life is too short to deal with inconsiderate people.

Yelp
Booked three rooms in this quaint and luxurious old hotel in the heart of Rome. The staff was excellent, rooms very nice and traditional. Breakfast on the rooftop was spectacular and the little bar was great for drinks and a little snack. The cocktail area gets jumping late night. Close to great shopping, a great pizzeria and bar/restaurant next door. Highly recommend! My good friend Antonio Cagnolo from Antonello's recommend this and he was spot on!

Yelp
It's pretty good but the rooms are tiny and gets claustrophobic. The A/C barely works and the windows are about 3inches wide letting no light in so it feels like a cave. The front desk are not well versed in the city and can offer no recommendations. The restaurant is fantastic with an incredible wait staff. The food and wine list is outstanding. The breakfast in the morning is also very very good. Tough call on 3 stars. Should be 3.5.

Yelp
My wife and I were walking in Rome near the Spanish steps and cane across the Valadier Hotel. We decided to stay two nights. The girls at check in were very nice. The hotel room was nice , clean and modern yet with rustic ceiling. The price per night was reasonable it also included breakfast for two at the rooftop Resturant which had a beautiful view of Rome. This hotel is in the middle of Rome with is waking distance to many monuments to see. I highly recommend this Hotel .

Yelp
This review is long overdue ( we stayed in Fall 2013). They were awesome. The managers were very nice to our kids and the room was really really nice. Wonderful memories!

Yelp
Loud piano bar every night until 330AM. Some staff good but one male host rude, unapologetic and unhelpful. Rooms were fine, but had to move 2x to get away from the noise. Would also recommend staying closer to the center of the city. Was on my honeymoon and had much higher expectations for service.

Yelp
I booked this Hotel online through Trivago. I called to make sure that the room I am paying for is the actual room you get, and they confirmed I would get one of the three rooms in the pictures. Fast forward to our vacation, we arrive and check in, the person at the counter was extremely nice and even helped us book our tour to the Vatican. The hotel is beautiful and very clean! I get to my room and come to find out it is not like what I had confirmed, it is still very nice but was bothered I could not get what I paid for, at first I wasn't going to say anything but then figured that you should get what you pay for and get what you are expecting. I called the front desk and I explained the situation, they had someone come down and show me another room two doors down, there really wasn't any change there the room looked the same to me, and looked nothing like what I had confirmed. The manager got on the phone and explained they were full and could not move me tonight but would do it the following day. I will keep you updated on the outcome, I am giving them 3 stars for now until I see what happens, they seem to be eager to help and they didn't seem bothered regarding my complaint. I'll keep you posted!!

Yelp
Very cute boutique hotel but if you want to get any sleep, request a room on the highest floor available. The hotel bar plays loud music until 3am and there are plenty of other noisy activities all around. Great breakfast and good location.
