Absolutely perfect location for the museums and transport links. Room was clean and well equipped. Beds comfy and linen clean and smart. Staff were mostly really lovely. Perfect base for our adventures around Amsterdam and a stones throw from a direct bus (379) to and from the airport for €4. Supermarket a couple.of minutes walk away and Uber eats deliver to reception! Was a lovely break for me and my daughters and I would 100% come back again here and recommend to others.

This is a well located hotel near the van Gogh Museum. It is tucked into a little lane with a school opposite the front entrance door. The twin share room was spacious enough for 2 large suitcases and backpacks. Good sized shower and bathroom with space for x 2 toiletries bags. Good blackout curtains. The lift worked well and not long to wait. The stairs however are steep and the treads are narrow, so need to be mindful when using the stairs.

Theft in our room It was raining on the day of our arrival, and upon entering the property, front desk does not provide assistance with luggage despite there are stairs leading to the lobby (we have 4 elderly with us). Check-in procedures with the front desk was quite fast although the male assisting the process does not show any hospitality at all. Was provided with 2 rooms on the first floor and 2 on the top floor. Which we appreciate as there are 4 elderly. Rooms are clean despite a bit old, elevator was also very tiny (Heard that it is quite common for hotels in Amsterdam). On the second day we went out to explore outskirts of Amsterdam and come back quite late in the evening. Then, my aunt who is staying on the 1st floor had called me, and informed she had lost her bag which she put in her luggage (she did not lock the luggage). We had searched the whole room, and had then be informed by my aunt that the room was uncleaned and the towel was even not changed (this also happen for the other room on the 1st floor). We report this issue to the front desk, who told us that my aunt might have misplaced her items, and it is not possible their team took anything from guests room. We told them that the item stolen although is a pouch bag, was not of value, but it contains all of my aunt medication. Which they still insist that my aunt misplaced it. The next morning, we complained again with another front desk (the man who helped us check-in), he still gave the same answer. Feeling frustrated, we decide to just ignore this issue as not to ruin the trip. MIRACULOUSLY, we found the lost item scattered in different parts of my aunt and her daughter belongings (although we had search that place the other night). I do not know what happened with the staff that returned the items. However, there was no apology we received from the team. Overall, if you want a decent stay at a decent price, you can come to this hotel, but make sure to lock everything in your luggage.

I recently stayed at the Van Gogh Hotel in Amsterdam and had a generally pleasant experience. The hotel’s location is fantastic, making it easy to explore the nearby attractions. Upon arrival, I met with a staff, who was quite neutral, not really welcoming. However, later staff I met was friendly and welcoming. The room itself was clean and equipped with useful amenities, including a coffee machine, tea, and a safe, which I appreciated. The bathroom was spacious, adding a nice touch of comfort to the stay. However, the floor did show signs of wear from an older leakage, indicating that some repairs might be needed. Despite this, the overall cleanliness of the room made it easy to overlook such minor issues. In summary, my experience at the Van Gogh Hotel was enjoyable. While there were a few staff interactions that could have been warmer, the clean, well-equipped room and great location contributed positively to my stay. I would consider returning, hoping for a bit more consistency in service.

Just spent 3 nights here at Hotel Van Gogh. The location is perfect and <1 minute walk from bus/tram stop that has a direct connection to the airport. You won’t get lost! So close to the museums and parks, and a very luxurious shopping area so totally safe. The room was nice, clean and spacious, but it was pretty cold even with temperature adjustments. I had a room facing the pathway and school but it wasn’t noisy. My only issue was the bathroom products. This hotel still uses individually-packages so not so environmentally-friendly. The person at the reception when I checked in was super friendly. I didn’t ask for his name, but he had a beard and ponytail. Very welcoming and patient. However, checkout was another story. This Asian man was so cold. Witnessed him interacting with a guest - he wasn’t rude or anything, just low speaking and not approachable. When I checked out, he didn’t even ask me how my stay was and only for my room number. I used the luggage storage after and he seemed annoyed. Still would recommend staying here despite one staff member. Such a great hotel for the price!!

This hotel is spectacular, don’t underestimate it. Bed was comfortable, when we got there we’ve got upgraded to bigger room. Staff were really nice, their kindness and smiles exchanged are very welcoming! The Museumplein tram to Centraal was just 2 mins walk infront of our hotel. The area was safe and walking friendly to Vondelpark and Van Gogh Museum. We will stay here again!

I came here 11 years before and came back this year… not sure that anything have changed. I had one single room. For the price and the location, everything is ok but far from being incredible. A bad smell was in the room, the bed is not crazily comfortable but rooms were clean. Only few staff members were friendly. I recommend for the price and location, not the rest.

The hotel is located very close to Museumplein tram stop. However is surrounded by kinder schools so it gets quite noisy in the morning, best to keep windows shut. But the room does get quite warm when windows are closed. ||The beds were comfortable. The pillows are the square European size which were very high and big - not so comfortable. The towels were quite thin. The shower was nice. ||Great to have a coffee machine in the room and a bar fridge. There is no safe though. ||There are a few steps at the entrance to the reception.
