Hótel Varmahlíð

Everything seemed out-dated. Bathroom was “clean” but grout was old and blackened. The shower looked like it hasn’t had a proper cleaning in years and had a moldy, rusty, pink slime buildup. The table wasn’t cleaned and had crumbs scattered all over when we arrived. Towels felt like they were thrifted. On the bright side the reception was very friendly and the rooms did come with a few toiletries.

We enjoyed our one night stay in June. Yes the place looks a bit older, but we were very happy and comfortable. Staff was excellent and friendly. Breakfast was good. I wish we would have eaten dinner there. It looked and smelled so good. (we ate at the local convenience store). Nice town, wonderful people, I'd stay there again

Superb and professional service. Big thank you to Wiloetta and Mateusz for making our stay so pleasant. They were very kind. Evening food was very good, perfectly cooked meat, thanks to the lady chef from Poland. Room was clean and cosy. Hotel itself well looked after. One thing about the breakfast selection, it's missing fruits. Overall top noch 👌

The hotel was clean by American standards, but less so by Icelandic standards. First room we got reeked of cigarettes, but night staff was quick to move us. Lots of space in the room, but hotel needs minor renovation. Don't think I would stay here again.

I stayed here for one night and I have to say that there was everything you could need. The staff was very nice and helpful, they cooked phenomenally in the kitchen and the breakfast was also flawless. Although the rooms are older and especially in the shower there is a bit of limescale, but otherwise they were clean, nicely tidy and the view from the window was also very nice. Overall, I rate the visit to the hotel very positively and recommend it.

Great place to stay: Room was good value for money. Dinner abd breakfast were good and tastefull and all made with fresh products.

We have a family room here, but it's actually a whole apartment: a living room with two beds , TV, sofa, cupboards and a sleeping room with a double bed. In the living room water boiler and coffee and tea. Everything is very clean, spacious, the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is also big and clean. Towels, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, toilet - everything okay. We had here dinner, the food was very good and tasty. The service is super friendly: the two young ladies at the reception and the restaurant are really kind. The one at the reception came out to show the entrance of our room. My daughter, who is very picky, is just having a good sleep.

Hotel was very ok, Room was clean and well equipped. We have travelled with our 5 years old son so the staff has upgraded our double room to a bigger one for 3 people without additional payment. The location of this hotel is very good if you plan to drive F35 road across highlands to the South of Iceland. We recommend this place :)
