Aino Private Island Hotel

Aino is the highlight of our recent trip to the arctic circle. It is one of the most memorable place we stayed at and the staff ensures you feel pampered and are taken care of. Jasmina at the restaurant prepared us an amazing tea concoction. Thank you for serving us and sharing your journey. Pearl and Sabine at the reception, and Andrea for helping us situated, giving us a tour of the facilities and preparing a relaxing spa session for us. This place is a short drive from the airport, when we cross the bridge from the parking area to the island, we were transported into a magical place at Aino. The friendly staff helped with the luggage on a sled and the reception welcomed us with a delicious warm drink. The room is sparkling clean and modern with the latest amenities, the hotel opened its door to guests less than a year ago. The Library cottage is a perfect place for post dinner drinks or just to read a book in the morning. The Soul Pharmacy cottage is this unique space beautifully designed for meditation and quiet time. The food is simply amazing, Nordic style dishes delicately prepared by the chef who personally introduced the local ingredients to us. The breakfast spread is so delicious and fresh, we were completely blown away with the details and taste. Thank you Aino, for the lifelong memories, we will return fort more.

What an amazing and unique hotel Aino is!! It is located on a beautiful island attached to the mainland by a suspended bridge. One of the biggest highlights for us was that the hotel is adults-only, which really delivers on peace and tranquility. The atmosphere is calm, relaxed, and ideal for unwinding without distractions. ||The attention to detail throughout the hotel is outstanding from the interiors to the overall guest experience, and it’s clear that a lot of care has gone into every element.|On top of all that, the staff were absolutely amazing, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay special. Aino is a place we would happily return to.

My husband and I had a really great stay at Aino, way beyond our expectations! The rooms in the hotel were newly renovated and extremely clean. The hardware used were all of quality, with well thought out designs that makes it a really great room. The view around and on the island was breathtaking, both in the day and night. I step out of my room everyday, thinking that im in fairyland. But the best thing about Aino is all the staff that took very good care of us, with unforgettable warm hospitality! Aino provides complimentary dinner for all guests and please do not miss out on this! The food is Michelin-level and Chef puts in so much effort to cook them for every guest. Special shout-out to Jasmina, who works at the restaurant. She's always bubbly and brings joy to the dinners we had there, constantly sharing with us the lifestyle of Finnish and little stories about different ingredients. She's also very very knowledgeable about alcohol and wine pairing, putting great thoughts into the recommended accompanying drinks. We really love our time at Aino and will definitely be back again.

Our stay at Aino Private Island exceeded all expectations. The rooms were spotless and beautiful, and the winter scenery was absolutely breathtaking. The breakfast was excellent – high quality, varied, and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere was wonderfully peaceful, and the entire place felt beautifully designed and carefully curated down to the smallest details. A perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Highly recommended!

The hotel being on a private island in the middle of the river gave it a charm like no other. It was an awesome stay experience that I definitely recommend and the staff were all friendly that it felt like one family on an island. And I saw the Aurora from the hotel too.

The most beautiful place on Earth!! Stayed in this most amazing hotel, small boutique hotel with 11 rooms, with all our children and grandchildren, 18 in total, and it was out of this World! Beautiful hotel, cozy and confortable, felt like our private villa. Amazing service, everybody so nice and attentive! It is a small hotel in a Private Island sorrounded by a frozen lake. The most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. Just to stay in Vartossiari is worth the trip to Lapland. Near Rovaniemi, close to everything. If you go to Lapland, this is the place to stay!!!!

Amazing location on a private island that has beautiful views. Family owned and operated. Exceptional service. The room are very clean and well maintained. Good for friends and family gatherings. The bridge makes you feel like you truly are on your own island. Very quiet and peaceful. You can take walks around the island. Not touristy. Sauna was great. Breakfast was very good. While it may start later than you would expect, the owner is always willing to accommodate an early start if you have an excursion that leaves early. Make sure to do the ice plunge it was so well worth it. Highly recommend staying here.

The hotel is great and very familiar, the treatment with us was amazing and everything is taken care of with a lot of love. The rooms are very clean, spacious and have everything you need. We loved the buffet food, everything was really delicious. The location of the hotel is perfect, it is on a private island and its landscapes are incredible, very close to the airport and Santa Claus village. Also have 2 saunas 🤩 Everything was perfect, we will come back for sure!! 🤍
