Hotel Varuna

If I can give zero or half star. Big window does not have a screen as well as the window in the washroom and it also filthy. There was no hairdryer in our room. Door of the washroom was annoyingly squeaky. Breakfast was awful.

All of my wedding guests stayed at this hotel. The staff is extremely attentive, very helpful. All speak spanish, yes, however one does speak English, but they do their best to accommodate. Everything is modern. Lots of space in the rooms. Shower is great. Breakfast is very good. Location is really good. Price is right. Highly recommended if you are staying in Manizales.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. My room was nice with a comfortable king bed, a window that opened to a view of the city, and a great bathroom shower. The breakfast has good and they served a fabulous soup every day. The hotel location was within walking distance of restaurants and shops.

Dining room was rearranged by one person directly below our room, dragging wooden legged chairs across the floor. It was loud, and preventing us from sleeping. At 11:40pm, after banging on the floor in an attempt to get the noise to stop, I got dressed and went down to speak with the front desk, who spoke to the person in the dining room. 12:25am, and we can still sporadically hear movement below....enough already, people are paying to sleep here!!!

As soon as you get to the hotel they ask for your credit card and charge your entire stay right away. As soon as they get their money they let you know that no guests are allow past the lobby or you will be charged 80,000 pesos. Pictures show a gym, well they DO NOT HAVE ANY GYM EQUIPMENT. The hotel is supposed to have a jacuzzi. Well is is out of service. Don’t get me started with the wifi. It is a complete joke. Let’s talk about my room. It seems the bathroom has been fixed multiple times, floor, painting are peeling, towel hooks don’t work. Shower clogs and water pools as you take a shower. Doors need to be slammed in order to be closed. Be ready to be woken up as other guests slam their doors closed. My room looked nothing as in the pictures. This hotel is not a 3 start hotel AT ALL. It is more like a hostal with elevator. I paid three nights and left after the second. Good bye forever hostal Varuna

Awful customer service at the front desk. The TV signal was defective and no member of the staff was willing to solve it. Breakfast was ok but the coffee was bad. You'd think they'd have good quality coffee in this region.... I will NOT be coming back to this hotel.

The hotel is in a good location of the city. Nice large room but loud traffic noise from streets surrounding hotel. Needed maintanence person to explain how to operate unusual shower.|There are 10 steps to enter hotel not an access ramp. |Restaurant breakfast very normal and dinner I ordered a filet mignon steak that was prepared correctly but the mashed potatoes were cold. I told her about potatoes and received no salad but nothing happened. I also had to remind her that I had ordered a glass of wine.

We stayed there as we participated to a mountain bike race in Manizales. We don't speak Spanish at all and all along the staff has been very helpful and understanding. They accommodated us and provided all we needed, even if our demands were unusual. They helped us cleaning our muddy bikes and provided all the necessary to do our washing in the room and hang everything. One of the most helpful staff we ever had!||The hotel itself is comfortable, the rooms are spacious and clean. The only negative thing was the shower, where hot water is kind of random. The breakfast is not the best ever, but there is enough to eat. ||The hotel is well situated, with a lot of restaurants close by. We are happy about our stay.
