1 star - extremely disappointing experience
We recently stayed at the Cape Verde Hotel in Cape Town and, unfortunately, the experience was very poor from start to finish.
Check-in was chaotic and extremely slow. Our booking could not be found initially, and when it finally was, the rate was over R2000 more than the advertised price. While the staff eventually agreed to adjust it, the entire process took 1.5 hours and was far from welcoming after a long day of travel.
Hoping for a better experience, we decided to dine at the hotel — but things only got worse. My meal was delivered incorrectly, and when replaced, the “correct” version was an entrée-sized portion. When we queried this, we were told that grilling the seafood made it smaller, even though another guest nearby had the exact same dish served as an entrée. To make matters worse, our side dish never arrived, and we had to chase that up as well.
When it finally came time to settle the bill, it took over 30 minutes for staff to process it.
Overall, this hotel lacks efficiency, attention to detail, and any sense of customer focus. I would not recommend staying or dining here until management makes serious improvements to their service and staff training.
