Hotel Verde - Cape Town Airport

We spent our last night of a two-week trip here and, unfortunately, were not really satisfied. We got to know so much South Africa has so much more to offer! The shuttle service was VERY convenient and worked perfectly, which is why we are giving three stars – it was the main reason we chose this hotel. However, our double room did not have a double bed, even though we had booked one through Booking.com. The staff seemed a bit uninterested and we missed the South African friendliness – we sometimes even felt unwelcome. The room and bathroom were not really clean. All surfaces (windows, mirrors, etc.) were greasy, and the bathroom had a terrible sewage smell coming from the drain. Additionally, we were unlucky with our room location, as it was right next to the kitchen exhaust or something, making it very noisy. The food at the restaurant was mediocre at best. However, the outdoor area with the pool and garden was a pleasant surprise, as we hadn’t expected that. Breakfast was quite good, and it’s great that they offer early breakfast options for those catching an early flight. The property seems secure, with a high fence and barbed wire. Overall, an okay stay with some positives, but also quite a few downsides.

My stay in Capetown was brief and whatever time I had I spent outside the hotel touring. I did contact the hotel prior to my stay to ask about a tour guide to accommodate my short stay. This hotel is extremely colorful and full of student artwork in the hallways. The rooms are spacious with the softest bed ever. I truly loved how they opened breakfast at 4 am to accommodate those with early flights. Such an amazing gesture for their guests. I wish I had more time to explore the pool or the trail outside the hotel. But I will be back!

We had a long time between the end of our cruise and our flight back to the states. With a 16 hour gap between disembarkation and our flight, we needed a convenient place to stay. We were able to take a day trip to the Cape Peninsula, but the end of that trip still left off with 6 hours until our flight. The Verde was a clean and convenient hotel near to the airport with shuttle service. Although we said just a few hours, we were able to get some pre-flight rest and freshen up. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff friendly. Although we didn't use any of the hotel's amenities, they had a cozy bar and restaurant.

Excellent location by the airport, provides pick up shuttle! They even sent a shuttle to pick us up outside of regular shuttle hours (we arrived after midnight)! Very helpful and friendly staff! The rooms are clean and comfortable! The onsite garden was a most beautiful surprise! We walked it everyday! It also has an outdoor gym! They truly live up to their word of being “the greenest hotel in all of Africa” in all aspects of their operations: energy (geothermal, wind, and solar), water conservation, recycling, etc. The indoor gym even has exercise equipment that uses human energy to generate electricity! We appreciated a nice service they provide of taking the extra clothes we had to donate to charity! The location by the airport is very convenient but if you are taking a tour, make sure the tour operator can pick you up at the hotel as some of the less reputable ones do not pick up outside of downtown Cape Town! The nice thing is that the hotel works with some excellent local tour guides! When a tour operator cancelled on us last minute, the hotel concierge was able to very quickly arrange a private tour for us which was fantastic!

This hotel is fantastic. The rooms were clean and quiet. The duvet was the right weight, which is rarely the case I have discovered. They do all kinds of things to save water and electricity. The decor is amazing. - colourful with local and student art. They have a spa on site. The restaurant offered a tasty and varied menu. The shuttle to the airport takes 6 minutes. But the back garden is a masterpiece, as is the eco pool and walking trail. Absolutely one of the best airport hotels in the world. I would stay again for sure. We have a billing issue I think will be resolved on Monday.

Hotel Verde was the ideal choice for a short stay before our late-night flight. The flexible 6-hour rate was incredibly convenient, and the comfortable room provided a much-needed rest.||||The restaurant had a good menu range with tasty options, and the free shuttle to the airport made everything seamless. Highly recommended for anyone needing a stress-free stopover near Cape Town Airport!

This is a review for Nuovo the hotel restaurant. This is the second time we have eaten here as our family was flying home. The vegan and vegetarian options are delicious. We had a super salad for a starter which was fresh and delicious. For mains we had a vegetarian basil pesto which was tasty and our parents had chicken pasta and chicken supreme. I had the plant-based bolognaise. All the meals were scrumptious and beautifully presented. Our waiter, Nerina, was fantastic. She was warm and friendly and an excellent waiter - a super staff member indeed! We also appreciate the hotel’s efforts at being green and the natural pool is lovely!

The first all green hotel I have visited. From food waste to water capturing, air conditioning to eco ponds; every single detail in the construction and operation of this hotel is aimed at reducing the negative impact on the environment and thereby re-using, saving and repurposing resources wisely and consciously - while still managing to be a super luxurious hotel.
